Escape to the best little pub in Queensland. We are coordinating a night at the iconic Lions Den Hotel on Saturday June 20th 2026.
Drive to Cooktown for a lunch on Saturday, if you haven't been there it's a cool and historic town. Saturday live music, dinner and dancing at the Lions Den.
Sunday morning, an epic waterfall and swimming hole that is not on the tourist maps.
Accomodation available at The Lions Den on a First in basis. Double rooms have a double bed, fridge and aircon and are $100 a night Family rooms have a double and 2 singles and are $180 for 4 adults Safari Tents have a Queen bed and 2 singles and are $210 for 4 adults. There are also $50 powered camp sites.
If you miss accomodation, Mungumby Lodge is gorgeous and close by and Cooktown isn't too far away with lots of options including hotels, motels, caravan parks and BnB's
TRANSPORT: Car Pooling recommended. Either up the tablelands through Mareeba, Mt Molloy and Lakelands any car is fine. OR Up the Bloomfield Track over the Daintree River Ferry and through Cape Tribulation and Wujal Wujal. Most cars can do this. OR For the adventurous, we can water cross the Daintree and drive uo the CREB Track (Cairns Regional Electric Board). Pretty sure we will do that. 4X4 Only
This is a free event, just book your room, pay for your food and drinks and bring a party attitude.
