1. Take a big deep breath2. Push whatever it is in your head out of the way3. Massive exhale4. Force yourself a fake smile - and keep it upEventually, and often surprisingly quickly sometimes - it shifts the MEH into a YEAH! :)If its a more deep seated Meh - go to the pub with friends.

There is nothing to dispel the 'meh' feeling more than feeling fabulous about yourself. I grin and bear it throughout the day, and then I force myself to go to the gym no matter how exhausted I am. It's mental exhaustion, rather than physical. An endorphin rush is a high that no artificial chemical can achieve. Workout done - head home for a long hot bath with my favourite lotus & frangipani bathing milk with some smooth Enrique or Faydee playing in the background... Then jumping into a warm bed for an early night :)

Being ok with what is. Trusting that things pass. Accepting the biorythyms of life and being grateful that I can feel, even if the feeling is blah. On the darkest of 'meh' days, just putting one foot in front of the other. Being thankful that I'm a natural optimist. And if all that fails, milk chocolate with hazelnuts :)

I can relate totally ... it's a feeling you get when your life has become "the same" and too repetitive and all to organized and planned nothing seems to excite you anymore ... your friends call you wanting to go out and you don't want to because it's the same clubs the same music! What I find to be good is actually doing something different like take up a dance class or something creative and fun something just for you ... even a group sport or some volunteering would help you

Quoting 'Taipan12' I have to say when it is one of those days..i can either go for a long walk , hopefully in the sun..or a drink with a friend..then there is pizza or a kebab ! I took the drink with a friend option...worked a treat. A great friend, who knows me and doesn't care whether I smile or not. And somehow, that helps and before I knew it, I was laughing hard. Some friends are just the best medicine.

Music always does it for me - in the car, steerio blaring and singing like no-one is listening. Always puts me in a terrific mood, especially when i forget people can see/hear me and give me a smile - then i laugh out loud!

...then go turn the water on full power. Then just very very quietly sneak up to the fence....then blast the bejuzus out of the neighbor's annoying gray cat that runs all over the neighborhood at night. | Wet pussy...that takes the "meh" out of any day.

You are so good at putting visuals in my head... this one made me snort... loudly (yes I know that really isn't a great visual for 'you' but... hahahahhaa)

Quoting 'newkee'You are so good at putting visuals in my head... this one made me snort... loudly ...I wouldn't bother with the high-pressure nozzle and just insert the hose and apply a proper amount of duct tape. Astro Cat would not be in my front garden ass-down in the middle of the night for at least a week. | They make duct tape for ducks to keep them from blowing up...when will they invent cat tape? | Snorting at the right time can be very sexy too.

Roxxyrose hit it on the head I think. In my experience all the self-help stuff doesn't really do much unless you already possess a certain type of mind-set that responds to that sort of thing. If you have that mindset then by all means chase the rainbow, tomorrow is another day, think about how amazing the planet is and have a Coke and a smile. If, however this is not quite enough to shake the doldrums then you may have to take more direct measures. For me personally:1) Recognise when the mood hits and focus on containing it (breathing, mantra, etc). This can be difficult, there is usually a lag between when it hits and when you can consciously recognise it.2) Ensure you're eating well and avoid any deficiencies. Take multi-vitamins if you have to. Detox and get your body humming. Don't go spastic with the celery and wheat-grass, just make sure you're not starving it or stuffing it with toxic garbage. This may involve spurning the gin for a while, harsh I know, but simple fact is anything more than the odd glass off wine with dinner is going to throw a spanner in the works. Alcohol is a depressant and it wreaks havoc on your metabolism, neither of which will be terribly helpful here.Smoke? Try and cut it back to like five a day. Same for coffee and any other stimulants.3) Sleep. A lot. Rack early, if you wake up early don't get up, roll over, stretch and close your eyes again. Make sure you're getting at least eight hours a night. Catch up on that sleep deficit yo!4) Exercise. Doesn't have to be major, just get the blood moving and the lungs flushed.5) Valium. It enables the preceding with far greater ease, particularly the sleep.Do the above, and as RR says, give it time and go through the motions until the wind changes. Sooner or later it always does, the above steps just accelerate the process, in my experience anyway. Also, if possible, discover and hammer your bliss. For now mine is bikes. After two seconds pushing 400 with my knee throwing sparks into the night I forget everything, I'm laughing like the Joker and feeling like the fist of God.Find yours.Anyway, for what it's worth. TTFN!,Narc

When I feel blergh like that, I go get some exercise, preferably outside. Whether it's a walk, bike ride or kinect adventures, movement stimulates dopamine and serotonin, brain chemicals that regulate your emotions. You'd be amazed just how much more energetic and positive you feel after a bit of a run around.

If a good friend is not around and hence the Blueness increases......for me what works a treat is considering a few simple facts......The world keeps going around, sun keeps coming up, the birds keep singing and none of it gives a fuck about my mood !!!!!So why should I take it so seriously ???? if nothing else around me (that was here before and will be here way after I am gone) takes any notice of me .....So, not taking myself, my situation, my concerns or whatever story is running through me to seriously is my answer, and focusing in a bigger picture my cure !!!!!
