....A good cause or a good thing....

June 07 2015

There are many amazing people/ organizations (usually non profit) both locally and globally who work with people to make a difference as well as those who are giving a voice (some quietly, some taking a risk, some through music and some very vocal) and attention to a broad range of issues to inform, educate, enlighten which can help us gain understanding, some may choose to become involved by volunteering becoming a member and or signing petitions to voice their support...ect.. whether it's via the net or in other ways.....so I thought that if you know or become aware of what you believe to be a good cause or thing and you feel it would be beneficial to share please do because it just might be helpful to someone here or someone they know or know of.... My daughter told me about ALL OUT in 2011 ... I have been involved since then by signing many online petitions...some of you may have already heard about ALL OUT ....website... allout.org there is also twitter and tumblr ....hope you get on board....About ALL OUT....... All Out is building a world where no person will have to sacrifice their family or freedom, safety or dignity, because of who they are or who they love.....All Out is bringing people together in every corner of the planet and of every identity - lesbian, gay, straight, transgender and all that is between and beyond - to build a world in which everyone can live freely and be embraced for who they are. Hozier a young musician/singer who is not only a gifted song writer and whom I believe to be a wise old soul who I'msure you have all heard of by now... Love his songs/music and messages in his lyrics.... Hope to see him at one of his concerts one day...Check out the video interview .... love what he says about the youtube coments ....Oct 13, 2014 - Uploaded by GigwiseHozier on the story behind 'Take Me To Church' - GigwiseInterview..... In my view point raises mental illness. Though, I can't name or identify a cause right now, anything that supports cancer research, support for families in dealing with cancer, gets my attention, support and time. I always have a girls night in for cancer research and this year hubby is having a man-a-que (BBQ for men only to raise money for men's cancers) and it will coincide with Movember. Great pist Rubi, you Phoenix! Mary xx

To Sum of Us,an online lobby group...I am passionate about supporting people who struggle with literacy and numeracy and volunteer three hours a week at a local school ...I am also aware that many of the clothes we buy,the electronics we buy,the food, we buy, particularly Tuna from Thailand involve the economic slavery of children and women...there are more slaves in the world today than at any other time in history, thirty million .....I have always liked the slogan ,Think globally, act locally..we can all make a difference, even in small ways xxFreya

The last 36 hours have been tough. 49 of our brothers and sisters were executed in cold blood at a gay club in Orlando, Florida in the early hours of Sunday morning. Many more have been horribly injured, some fighting for their lives. So many beautiful lives destroyed. So many hopes and dreams that will never be realised. So much unbearable pain for those left behind. So many hearts broken.I’m struggling to come to terms with what happened. My deep sadness is mixed with anger. Anger at the lawmakers who continue to make LGBT Americans second-class citizens. Anger at the hypocrisy of those same lawmakers as they fill Twitter with promises to "pray" for us. And anger at the National Rifle Association of America whose lobby work means that assault rifles like the one used by the attacker are so easily obtained. In vigils across the world today, our wonderful, resilient, defiant community will come together in solidarity and love. We will cry. We will sing. We will stand with pride and dignity. Weareorlando.org has been set up as a central place to find out about vigils, organise your own event, or make a donation. Please go there and do what you can. Here at All Out, we will continue to defy the haters with love, community, and acceptance of all. We will stand against demonizing an entire religion. We will investigate new campaigns in the USA to finally pass commonsense gun laws. And – with you – we will work even harder to fight back against bigotry and violence. By doing so we will honor the memory of those we have lost. May they rest in peace. With love and solidarity, Matt Beard Executive Director, All Out
