Everything happens for a reason Cheekys.God has a very big whiteboard,he is plotting and planning the lives of the gazzillion billion people and other sentient beings on the planet. Each morning he wakes up and gets his marker out and says....''Hmm let me see,who deserves to die today, who deserves pain and suffering ,a plague,an earthquake,a tsunami,a ....'' by this time God is utterly exhausted but then revives just a little to plan and plot the happiness quotient for the day and dispenses accordingly to those deserving souls...Then he has a rest.

I believe everything happens for a reason (just at times its hard to see the how and why of it all).....   There is no such thing as coincidences...

because of what each of us believes in.I believe, we are already deciding our death when we are still in this big soup of nonexistence and waiting to be born again.Hmmm, what do I need to experience this time.So I came to this earth to be a 4ft 11 round thing with lots and lots of love for males.Oh since I am here I always wanted to be a really sex bomb, but each time I look into the mirror, there is this short big legged round female staring at me.And it took me nearly 40 years to see how lovely I am......how funny and gorgeous in my way. However I am here also as I said to love the male, my heart is full of sorrow and cries when I hear another male suffer through some nasty female.lol, Its true even I am laughing about this sentence myself.I have only sons, I grew up with males surrounding me, most of my friends are males, I work better with males. What can I say I just love em.So I came down to this lifetime to learn to be a women who can understand a male but also to be on her own and survive on her own without a male partner. I think I am just fucking in love with me. Litonya

That thousands, no, hundreds of thousands, no millions of children around the world who are starving, abused, sick, in pain and frightened would love to know the reason for what is happening to them. It's all just random... Make the best of it.

Accidents are just lessons to teach us that we either didn't take the correct amount of time to plan, or did not observe the safe method of doing something. They are meant for us to learn from to not make the same mistake and re-learn the lesson from it again. ET xox

A cloud does not know why it moves in just such a direction and at such a speed, it feels an impulsion....this is the place to go now. But the sky knows the reason and the patterns behind all clouds, and you will know, too, when you lift yourself high enough to see beyond horizons. ~this is a quote from the book "illusions" by Richard Bach...i like it

This thread was going to be about driving habits...~laughs~I'm on the balcony of my mothers house. I see a car coming down the road. Slowing. Pulling left. Then it knocks mums bin over. Stops. Projects a feeling of mild panic.. Then pulls away. Mum recognizes the car as being one from a few doors down the next street. Surely they could have waited until they got home to send that txt message?

my existence is a happy accident. Everything else is purely coincidence. I'll just keep flying by the seat of my pants .... so to speak.

Shit just happens, there is no higher power or karma it's just life. Live it while you can because when you go it's just the end. In my opinion

Quoting 'Freya77' God ... then revives just a little to plan and plot the happiness quotient for the day and dispenses accordingly to those deserving souls... Thanks Freya, I'd always wondered why my afternoons were better than my mornings... Coffee and pestilence being my typical morning.I subscribe to a combination of chaos theory (or at least, my interpretation) and what I like to call the 'make your own luck approach'.I don't subscribe to anything like a guiding hand... rather, life seems mysterious or preordained because we find that for which we're looking (we're receptive) along with the fact we don't always appreciate the impact our decisions, even tiny ones, can make.(Receptive, you ask? Go for a walk in a crowded city centre... afterwards, I'll ask you how many brown cardigans you saw. Probably 1 or 2. Now, if I tell you that brown cardigans are the next big thing and *everyone* is wearing them, when you go out again, you'll see them everywhere...)I take the view that what really matters is how you handle that with which you're faced.

Our reality is determined by information processed through our senses and the nervous system, so realities will vary between people. One might see shit happening for a reason, the other, just a silly coincidence. Either way, i think it's good to have an open mind with these things, not too open that your brains fall out though. I believe with an open mind you see more 'stuff', even when your not looking for it, maybe, those coincidences aren't as coincidental as they seem. I hear many people talk about the fact you attract certain people because of the way you are, we'll maybe, you attract a lot of other 'stuff' too!! Mr S

Teacher in class, "I would like you students to please tell me a story which includes the meaning of Contagious"   Two hands go up, Vanessa and Little Johnny at the back of class. The teacher chooses Vanessa who replies - "My brother has chicken pox and has to stay in his room because it's contagious"   Very good Vanessa says the teacher, so does anyone else have a story? The only student with a hand up is little Johnny. The teacher lets out a sigh and says "Okay Little Johnny what is your story on contagious?   Little Johnny replies - Well Miss, me and Dad went for a drive on the weekend, we came round this corner and this truck full of oranges had had an accident and rolled on it's side, there were oranges all over the road. Dad turned to me and said "It will take that cunt ages to pick all those up!"   Well it was about an accident!!!

I don't believe everything happens for a reason. There is no driving force behind our lives except for our own choices as much as we can make within our cultural and socio-economic constraints. Our choices are constrained by who we know, how much money we have, where we live, our social class, education level, our health, other responsibilities and personality factors. If you drill down deeply enough you can often attribute a reason for something happening, but keep in mind that reason is probably a fundamental attribution error. Fundamental attribution errors is where you attempt to place greater meaning to coincidental events. Natural disasters are where this thinking becomes most apparent. Your house is destroyed by a storm and you lose everything, oh look at that it's happened for some reason but that reason isn't apparent yet. It's a coping mechanism. If a few months later you establish some kind of support group or storm fund, that's not the reason your house was damaged.

Had to read the "Little Johnny" paragraph twice before I got it! And that's reality :-) KK

... didn't answer your question. I subscribe to what I call organised chaos: drama free but still at times susceptible to random influences beyond ones control. Works for me ;-)
