  Our new haunt is a short road trip up north. Twice we've visited , once just for a day trip, the other for a stay. Some of my current pictures are from there. The last visit was just after the passing of fellow forumite BigOcean, may he RIP. I thought of him every day as the sun went down. We will build more memories this year as we celebrate hubby turning 50. I'll take photos to share here. We used to holiday down south. We have a lot of memories down there. I've been going through the old photos from there after our beloved female dog passed last week. We don't have a photo of the time she disappeared over the dunes and returned with a seagull in her mouth. But we remember how gentle of mouth she was that we were able to untangle the bird from the fishing line and release it. We do have a photo of the time she tried to catch the dolphin. Too funny. We'll be taking her ashes down there for a day trip soon and take our other dog along to make more memories. I've always loved the ocean. Peachy

  I was getting my hackles up at the prospect of a slough of nostalagia coming done the pipe on this topic, when I read Peachy's story. Stopped me in my tracks, as she does. My good memory is springtime here, where I live, on the edge of the Macedon Range. I went away to Montreal (28C) for six weeks, and got back to melbourne 3 weeks ago (10C). But today it was 16, and all the things I love about spring started to come back. That warmth in the air, that lifts you up, and the way you can sit in the sun, full of happiness! Ross

  I'm off to Hawaii in 4 weeks for a 50th birthday/wedding reception, I've been there a few times with the same main group of friends, I love it and have awesome memories of laughs, cocktails and the sunsets, shopping, and beautiful locals. This trip will I'm sure, create some more memories to hold on to. Like Summer I have amazing memories of Paris, was there a couple of years ago. I wasn't fussed about going but friends I was travelling with wanted to see it and Paris Disneyland... Well I fell in love with the city and everything about it, we did a pushbike tour day two and saw the city that way, we had so much fun I hope to go back one day. Memories are fantastic and pop into my head at the strangest times. 😍 - Posted from rhpmobile

  You made me think of Joni Mitchell's Free Man In Paris..I was a free man in Paris.unfettered and alive..for me so long ago but so memorable. In the early nineties I lived and worked in the Santa Cruz mountains amongst the Sequoia.I was managing a Tibetan Buddhist health and healing centre .I met some amazing people there including some elderly Lamas who had been imprisoned by the Chinese Government.Their grace and beauty was truly humbling. An absolute highlight was travelling to New York for a special World Peace focused initiation with the Dalai Lama at Madison Square Gardens. Richard Gere was there and I actually met Allen Ginsberg but I was so over awed I could barely speak.There were of course 4000 other people there too 😇Q
