I’ve have had 35 years of training in which my partner refused to participate in Valentine’s Day. I basically gave up after the first 20 years or so with no recognition of my efforts. So, if you want a beer... or if you’re expecting me to be romantic... it’s been beaten out of me. It may take a while for me “to find myself” again. Hugs Gaz

....and start planning for national Steak and Blowjob day which is in one months time on March 14th. Make it happen LOL Although I guess you could just do it twice? Not a fan of St Vals because that particular day holds some pretty awful memories that are still kind of fresh so I just endure it till its done and then move on again.

I'm in the middle of major incident on site, and had forgotten all about V-day till you mentioned it OP. I will definitely be flying solo, and in bed by 20:30 if I'm lucky. I seriously need to get a life beyond work 😒

Well sweetgem I often wonder where the radio pulls some of their ridiculous statements and polls from. Sounds like crap to me. I will count the singles eating or having coffee today at lunch. As far as dinner goes rarely do I see a solo person eating at a table alone. And to all those with something on for valentines have a wonderful day/evening

Spending this day with a lover of mine. An evening making a delicious meal together, early night because we were both tired and she had early start this morn. Cuddles and a card and a dick kiss this morning. Can't wait for the afternoon when she knocks off early. She says I should watch some porn to get me good and horny but not allowed to wank. And I have basically done nothing but be myself, might have cleaned the kitchen and made the bed everyday of my stay. I will take her on a date today, something different, I am thinking of taking her to go fossicking at some old ruins. Maybe I will invest in a picnic blankie.. nods yes, this is a plan! Makes a change from every other year when flying solo consists of sending flowers to the ex and otherwise just carrying on as normal. (yeah the ex is still a special person to me I am a nostalgic romantic she says)

Hi Dryphuz. Good topic. I find my thoughts and emotions straddling the fence. I can see that its a big play from business to make money from us and so I shun the idea of falling into their trap of consumerism. Yet I also think about past relationships and try to remember the things I did right and learn from any mistakes. It's certainly good to see everyone here responding to OP. Makes my own sighs as a single a little less annoying. To answer the OP's question, I may be visiting a FWB. But we will see what happens. Such things can fall over very easily no matter what day it is. Plus a FWB may be comforting but only if the right connection is there. Hopefully most of us will have an orgasm some how tonight

Even a card for Valentine's day my whole life. I don't really take any notice of it. I see it as for shops and getting people to spend money. A bit cynical i know. I did get a surprise last night when I got an email from a dude off a past season of Married At First Sight. He is incognito on rhp. But I said thank you, but, no thank you. My lover has flown home and I'd much rather be with him. Hands down. LC.

One of my sons made for the family. I took one each to my non grandkidlings and one to mumsy. Day was spent with people I love. Valentines day to me is about that. ALTHOUGH it is just another rebranding by the catholic church for a ritual practiced quite a few years ago. Im not allowed to skin animals and run through the streets semi naked warding off evils. We have been together 6 years and have never once celebrated Valentines Day. It's just another day of the year for us. Your partner should be treated the same everyday, not just one day of the year. :) Taby xx

I did have the pleasure of waking next to my Valentine (of 24 years), but then off and away for work to a lonely motel room for the night... nothing different really to missing the many birthdays and anniversary’s over the years but hey you gotta pay the bills! For us, yes it’s just an over commercialized load of garbage, but still a good excuse to remind eachother of our love and support of eachother and do something special together if we can. By the looks I’m one of the lucky ones Xx

I forgot all about it on the day itself.. The night before i'd found a new game to play and spent all St valentines day playing that. Looked up and it was 1am Thursday and i hadn't had breakfast on Wednesday yet... Its not even that good a game... Just the completionist in me wont let it beat me. As to it being commercial i normally spend most of my time reminding people its SAINT Valentines day and is actually a religious day celebrating the martyrdom of Valentine of Rome. Much like christmas, easter and several others i'm not thinking of right at this moment, its been hijacked for the purpose of selling things. And while going out solo would probably have had a higher chance of meeting someone else single, I'm broke (like single digit bank account with no more coming in) and the only thing i would be able to come up with (drinking) i cant do because of the medication i'm on (which has ruined the last vestiges of my social life, i can tell you). There are times i wish McDonalds was a social hangout... But i couldn't afford that either. Anybody else do anything unexpectedly entertaining?
