And another brilliant songwriter

December 26 2016

Has gone. RIP George Michael, songwriter, showman and fabulous entertainer. He gave lots of his money to charity although he didnt brag about it like some of the stars like to do. I grew up with Wham and saw him with them then solo here in Perth. I am playing Cowboys and Angels......

I will miss him. When I was young -er, I did listen to him and.madonna. I.had a huge girlie crush on him before I found out he was gay but loved him just the same. He gave me an inkling on how I love men with great legs in white short shorts (AFL footy men and wham video 'wake me up before you go go') and tight faded jeans n black jacket with 3day growth. Whawhawhooo. My teenage boy n his peers are discovering and enjoying the 80s music. Wham n Madonna are some of.the performers I grew up with and enjoying this journey with my son. I am so glad to have shared interest with my boy and George Michael is certainly a star 🌟. Forever.

Life is way too short... 53 is far too young; any younger than that is just unfair. - Posted from rhpmobile

Quoting 'jayme2' Drugs and lifestyle. Another great entertainer gone far too soon... I suspect then he wouldn't have been the entertainer he was.

Drugs and alcohol? Maybe some of you have heard more updated news that I haven't heard yet. All I've heard is heart failure. Obviously many entertainers go that way and drugs can cause heart failure so unfortunately most people wouldn't be shocked if the same has happened with George micheal. I just didn't want to assume that's what happened yet. Either way it's been a shitty year for deaths in the music industry and entertainment in general 😳 - Posted from rhpmobile

Both true. Most of the great showmen and entertainers, Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Prince, Bowie...all had hedonistic lifestyles. I watched a doco about Robbie Williams. He is on all sorts of medication for personality disorders due to his excessive lifestyle before. But he said that the way he was made him the creative showman that he was. As I said before, George quietly gave away a lot of his money to charity, and didnt mind being sent up for a good cause ( see the clip with him and James Corden...) They were all a joy to watch and gave us lasting musical memories.

He has never been my cup of tea but I can see his writing style is pretty good. Although walking down the halls of the shipping centre hearing careless whisper gives me chills right now. GM. You walked your own path. Fuck what other ppl think.rest in peace - Posted from rhpmobile

Growing up in a small regional town and liking WHAM was difficult. I went to all 3 of his tours in Australia and had tickets for Symphonica before it was cancelled. It's not like losing a brother, but it is close. He was and has been a constant through my entire life since I was 13. Truly heartbroken.
