The average clothing size of Australian women is still a size 14, though getting close to 16. For me, personally: Size 6-10: Slim (I don't use thin or skinny) Size 12-14: Average Size 14-16: A little extra padding Size 16 and above: Ample. Athletic could be anything between a size 6 and 14, depending on height, shape, sport, etc. Just my opinion though. And while my size is average, my body is far from it.

I'm ample. Lol there's alot to love and it isn't just my body!! Guess I'm blessed that way (insert angel smiley here). Sarapis does size really matter? Haha

Cause I live in BrisVegas and not in the outter outskirts of Sydney - What would that make me if I am an "average" size woman wearing clothing size is 8-10 , living here for a total of 4 1/2yrs - I don't compare myself to people around me...not one bit..I don't think one should classify their "average" size from where they live? culture? Age?? or Nationally? nor the people around them...What happens if one has live there for say 12mths - then what? are they still average/slim/large compared to others that have lived longer in their area? I don't understand what you are REALLY saying OP - Is it more on CLOTHING Size or BODY shape or the word AVERAGE?We are our own worst critics when we come to looking at our own bodies...Secretly we add a few kilos to what we have got.Foxy

What he is saying is that people in richer suburbs are slimmer. They have done studies on this as well. People who are better educated and have more money to spend on good healthy food are slimmer than people from poorer areas as fast food is so cheap. Generally.

I consider my body type as average because I wear clothes that are sized 12-14 depends on the brand, style and cutting. I have muscles in the right places and am not clumsy in a way that I would puff out after walking for 10 minutes. Besides, I still can do 30-40 laps of proper styled swimming. Also, the majority of my friends, work colleagues, and people whom I met through social connection have all confirmed that I am NOT a fat person, not even chubby, even though I have a small belly lol I'm seemed big simply because I have broad structure and toned, because I have done a lot of strenuous exercises in the past and still swimming regularly, so I have muscles and body fat mixed together lol However, having said that, the Asian elderly do think that I am overweight because I seem bigger in comparison with other Asian women lol But I know I am not fat and I love my body :-) Come on, yes most Asian women are slim, but how many of them are there (overall in the world) that have natural DD-E size breasts?! LOLIn answering to your question Sarapis, it depends on how the individual sees themselves I suppose. Some might be a little extra padding or even ample, but put in their profiles as an average body type because they might be concerned of being discriminated against their bodies and limits the chance of meeting people online??? Some could be thinking like what you have mentioned, because of their cultural background, they were comparing themselves with people from nations that tend to have bigger structure, e.g. Cambodian women might compare themselves with the majority of Hawaiian women (very obvious who would be bigger, right)??? Or some might even be totally comfortable with their bodies and think it's an average size because of self confidence and their love for their bodies???That's just my thoughts and I don't speak for all

Who the bloody hell knows?? I think the rating system for "body type" is too subjective. I think "average" however would sit around size 12-14 for women, but you can never really know what that body type looks like without a picture. Same as the "attractiveness" rating, it's really meaningless because attraction is so subjective. Without photos to look at you might as well be describing colours to a blind person.

I know overweight people who live in the Eastern Suburbs, just as I know slim successful people who live in lovely houses in Western Sydney!! I think to compare like that is wrong. I grew up in the west, yet now live on the Central Coast and work in the sport/fitness industry, yet my older brother who is a Judge, and has always lived in penthouses, or beautiful houses in the Easter Suburbs/inner Sydney has battled with health and weight issues all his life. I think average is average no matter where you live. Ms Devious has reasonable table id agree with.

average? we feel we are of average size and weight for our height and age...so if we say average...we see it as similar physical types to ourselves......

how it matters really - I'm a 10-12, but for me the "average" is because I am not toned and have wobbly bits.At the end of the day, you ask for a photo are either physically attracted to someone or are not.

I amm a fat ugly old chick, who wears ugg boots and flannel shirts trackie dacks are my going out clothes to be honest from your profile pitures, your body focus is important to you me I like a bit more depth to the men I am attracted to I think barbie may like ken and Meeka is right, good food is expensive so people who are marginalised, live in poor areas are fatter as they dont have the cash or the skills or education to live a better life. ...I see an Average Body . I'm not super Buff & I'm not overweight . I may have attributes that are above Average but ultimately , for the purpose of RHP & other Sites it's up to the eye of the beholder as to whether I am Average , Above Average or Below Average . Not all people may like what they see , others will . When we advertise ourselves, it's natural for us to put our best features on display but I'm not going to AirBrush my details just to make myself appear better than what I really am . My post was all about how people describe themselves and what influences people's description of themselves , I'm no ken I don't line barbies the only barbie I like is the one in my backyard , barbie folks actually turn me off , my photos ate to show in different which is what a man has to do on on this site to increase his audience and have more impact and draw more attention the same as people write long lengthy profiles I go the next step men with abs and pecs etc are all over the net menu me me ate not ! You didn't flame me not even singe me :-) ease don't think I'm superficial as I'm far from it I'm not even arrogant if anything I'm a very humble person . Its a psychological thought process how one describes themselves.....How one looks at themself naked infront of a mirror is not how another person sees them....so what is "average" to one is not "average" to another...Example: I may see myself as "slim-average" (middle range) whilst another might see me as "average-overweight".. Oh yes I've even been called obese by a man, obviously he likes women who look like an average Maccas French Fry? Foxy

I describe myself as average because I'm neither fat nor thin. I'm a size 10 in most clothes and go to the gym for fitness so I can run around the park with my beautiful boys without too much trouble. But my body has soft bits where ladies tend to get soft bits and frankly, it's nothing special. I have hips and thighs and boobs and they all wobble unless I'm sitting still and not breathing ;-) Having said that, it's the only body I've got and I try to look after it. One is not slim (boney) nor overweight (clumsy with excessive fat hanging out in the wrong places). One might be a little toned but not muscular, and always seem to have a small belly 😞 But again, it depends on how each individual sees themselves in their mind mirror and whether they would be comfy/happy with their own bodies or not :-)

You say you're not a snob, but if no photo and says average and lives in a particular suburb...oh myIn answer to your question....if I can get around what the question isI put average on my profile. It doesnt have curvy on there.I am a size 10-12 with dd boobs...I wouldn't say that acts as being slim, so I put average.I don't 'compare' myself to others...what would be the point in that.I also don't put that I'm very attractive although some people would say I am. Perhaps I'm just not that up myself. No, I'm not selling myself short. I'm using some honesty.

Hi everyone I have been reading the posts on this subject and agree it is all depending how an individual sees them selves,,I say I am average and I am a size 8. I am small but have a bit of a tummy from having kids and insulin injections every day. I also say average as I have a cpl of scares. Even though I say average I think I look good for myage (42) and for being a Nana of a 4 year old. So in closing I think it depends how a person sees them selves and not where they are from,,cheers Kell
