Brisbane for locals and others that travel there frequently?

I am traveling to Brisbane and will be looking for something to do the nights of Tues 28 and Wed 29 August. Yes midweek but hoping there are at least a couple of options. There are some decent threads on here for Melbourne which I have used before but couldn't find anything for Brisbane. Looking for locals to recommended some wine bars, and other chic places. Open to all options but want a locals view or someone that visits brissy and knows what's hiding. Staying in the valley, can anyone suggest any places to go out late afternoon / night or otherwise whats on middle of the week? Added dates to datefinder but looking for places to go and people to meet. Any links or old threads ok ... i searched and didnt come up with much so any locals please feel free to provide tips.
