Hi all, we need some advice from the locals. Where is a nice, stylish place to have drinks/cocktails around the casino? We would like to find a nice bar to have drinks at before heading out to a great nightclub to finish off the night. We like modern, posh/stylish looking places rather than pubs or casual drinking places. While we have had no luck making 'other' plans we still want to have an awesome time while we are in town & after having a quick Google search on bars/nightclubs in Cairns I'm even more confused.. too many choices. lol Local knowledge would be great! Hi Guys hope you are have a great trip. We lived there for 8 years before moving down to Brisvagas and go back and see family regularly so try these placesCairns > Courthouse Hotel roof top or The Bar> Six Degrees Bar and Lounge at the Hilton on the Esplanade> Vertigo Cocktail Bar and Lounge at the Reef Casino Palm Cove, there are heaps of great little bars at Palm Cove 15k North of Cairns on the water front Give them a go Have fun x Vertigo Cocktail Bar & Lounge in Cairns

Hello Taby_DK, A nice place to start in Cairns is either the Pier Bar it's just been recently done up or Salt House is nice has two bar areas and a restaurant on the water so really beautiful during the afternoon for cocktails. It's a awesome time to come visit Cairns nice and hot makes good sun baking and swimming whether. Hope this helps.

Ive spent a lot of time in Cairns as a jump off point for the reef, or for mining projects out past Mareeba. The most stylish bar I've found is right in front of the Shangri La hotel, beside the Salthouse Restaurant. Its a small inside/outside sort of bar with nice cocktails, away from the backpackers.
