Carnivorous

May 24 2013

We've heard all about people's preference for Smokers & Non-Smokers . What about Meat Eaters & Vegetarians? I'm a Carnivore ( in fact an Omnivore ). Should I date Vegetarians ? As a Vegetarian , would you date a Carnivore ? Food for Thought ... GG♒- Posted from rhpmobile

It only matters who you eat, not what you eat

If you do pick up a vego earn brownie points by going for free range options.   I'm going to say something discriminatory... Vegans aren't sexy. There I said it. Don't mean to be a hater but I need meat and curves on a partner.   Back to the question at hand. I was vego for over a decade while MrParadise was a full on carnivore. Made for multiple meals on the go at dinner time but I would never let someone's eating choices influence a relationship. Unless they were converting to vegan, in which case, I'd be kicking their boney ass to the kerb.

In fact I'll eat almost anything. But I'm also an environmentalist, animal lover and a farm boy, so I would not hesitate to date a vegetarian or vegan. Just don't get me started on certain members of the green party or PETA, or those who sit in their north shore houses telling us how nature works because they watched "The Lion King" and read a brochure. Must... resist... urge to rant...

WHy is it that the tall thin emaciated vego stereotype still exists?   I trained under a chef who was 20 stone if she was a kilo, and yes she was a vego.   I don't care if partners eat meat or not, I'm an omnivore, love all types of food and cuisines, and food is a sensual pleasure that i love to share.   My only stipulation is that i couldn't be in a relationship with someone who didn't love food. Can't stand a fussy eater!!!!

Must... resist... urge to rant... Rants can be good for the soul. At my work we have instituted a token system (metaphorically speaking) - you get one rant token a day. You can store up your tokens on good days, so you can let fly with several rants on a bad day. We also separate rants from whinges (we allow ourselves three whinges a day). Whinges are simply a quick complaint about clients from a seated position, addressed to no-one in particular. A rant involves addressing the whole team from a standing position, and letting out all pent up frustration until the soul is soothed...

I've got to be with someone who loves food, and wine too probably. I'm an omnivore and love to try new foods, eating and cooking is a big part of my life. Someone who is too fussy puts me off.

Been there, done that.... but if you spend sufficient time with someone with considerably different dietary considerations.... compromises do need to be made. Example.... ....you dine out together regularly...... You weight train a lot and need protein volume in your diet...... she is a vegetarian who won't eat spicy good.....and you really want the chicken vindaloo.... and you like the sharing nature of your relationship. It may sound petty, because it is.... but it's a consideration. DG - Posted from rhpmobile

It's not vegos who are emancipated... It's vegans. The dietary options for vegans are pretty much limited to grains, pulses, nuts, roots, fungi, fruits, vegetables and derivatives of them (tofu, oils etc). I recently watched a guy I know go from spunky to stick through going vegan. Of course it's an individual's choice. I'm probably just bitter after once having a waitress at a vegan restaurant look down her nose at me and tell me off for ordering honey in my chai. As an ex-vego I am still very consensus of what meat I eat, only about 20% of my meals include meat. And I'm avoiding dairy (I use soy/almond milks but will still eat pizza and chocolate); so about 60% of my diet is vegan...

It doesn't matter to me what play mates put in their mouths ...so long as it includes me!! Seriously, so long as they look healthy, it doesn't matter to us what their dietary requirements are. We eat pretty much anything so can easily fit into the needs of others. It's a non issue here :-)- Posted from rhpmobile

Mrs C is a vegetarian. I'm mostly the same, but some animals are just too delicious to be saved. It's never been a problem for us, unless I make stupid comments about animals being too delicious to be saved.Had a vegan housemate for a while at uni. While he wasn't the evangelical type, it did make it impossible to eat a meal together. I did work out pretty quickly though that some beer contains animal fat and therefore didn't have to be shared, so it wasn't all bad.Mr C
