I love Four Seasons, and Carmina Burana is a favourite. I follow a musician on youtube who plays incredible piano covers of modern music, as well as his own compositions - Jervy Hou. He's pretty spectacular. His "A breathtaking piano piece" is totally worth listening to, and is one of my go-to pieces of music - in fact, I'm listening to it now.

We mainly listen to classical music and have quite a collection of CD's. We also enjoy opera and attend performances in Melbourne fairly often . Went to Mozarts Don Giovanni a few months ago and will go to The Marriage of Figaro in a couple of weeks time. Enjoy making love with classical music playing gently in the background. Must be our European background

I perhaps don't listen to classical often enough anymore so thank you for posting this and reminding me Freya. I do like Four Seasons especially when the narration is done with one of those melting voices (a good one I know of is Patrick Stewart) Tend more towards lilting styles like Mozart and Vivaldi more than the heavies. A bit of a John Williams fan (classical guitarist) A few favourite pieces are Ride of the Valkyries, Cavatina, pachelbel's canon and I loved the music to peter and the wolf a childhood fav. (Have a copy with David Bowie narrating) My all time favourite piece is O Mio Babino Caro. I have a beautiful compilation album with a really nice selection of quieter tunes called 'Sound of Silence music to breathe to' highly recommend checking it out

Oh gosh Freya. You have so so so opened a can worms for me here. Where would you like me to start...... Favourites include:- Absolutely anything Beethoven. The 5th, and 9th in particular. Especially the 9th, when you consider that Beethoven was completely deaf when he wrote this. It makes me so sad. To imagine that a mere mortal could write something so exquisitely beautiful and perfect, yet never hear the finished product with their own ears. J.S.Bach, particularly the Brandenburg concertos, and his fugue in D minor. Handel. The Messiah, is my Christmas favourite. Verdi's Requiem. Ravel's Bolero. If you want to see some absolutely stunning choreography to this music - check out Maurice Bejart via youtube. Anything Kings College Choir Cambridge, Anything Trinity College Choir Cambridge. I also recommend that if any of you get the chance go and see Trinity College Choir when they tour Australia next year. They are absolute perfection. There is nothing like it in Australia. I could go on, and on, and on. But I'll resist temptation. PS: This topic has made me feel way less Nerdy........

Jan Sibelius, Karelia suite. I'd love to have sex to that, but getting the timing right to cum with the crescendo might be a bit of an off putting challenge...

These guys do some wonderful renditions of classical cello but are absolutely awesome at doing mainstream covers. They are called two cellos have a look at their cover of 'Smooth Criminal' amazing guys and they work so well off each other

but i do like classical music. I didn't think i'd like the opera either but i ended up loving every minute of it. Wish i had the money to go more. My favourite classical piece is the finale of the William Tell Overture. The way it builds to such an exuberant climax is exhilarating... That sounds like i'm describing sex, and i guess its somewhat analogous.

Not a classical buff , but there is some I get totally lost in but could not tell you who nor the name. Big fan of Ravels Bolero, and the music out of Dances with Wolves is a classic..

You wouldn't happen to feel that way about the William Tell Overture because of the rather comedic, high-speed menage a trois from Clockwork Orange, would you?

"Classical Destination" is one of my favourite tv shows of all time as it showcases beautiful music, biographical/historical information about the composers and charming scenery.Check it out if you appreciate a travelogue set to superb music.

Quoting 'Jack_Denials' Jan Sibelius, Karelia suite. I'd love to have sex to that, but getting the timing right to cum with the crescendo might be a bit of an off putting challenge... That music brings back great memories of my visit to beautiful Finland.

Quoting 'tylannister' You wouldn't happen to feel that way about the William Tell Overture because of the rather comedic, high-speed menage a trois from Clockwork Orange, would you? Nah i liked it way before i saw clockwork orange. There is a modified version i do like. The cockney version from Bill Bailey's Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra. Anything from Disney's Fantasia is also awesome. I played the recorder as a kid from about 6 years old till i was 9 and somewhere in there my teacher took me to see the symphony orchestra and i've had an appreciation for classical orchestral music ever since.
