Stir I don't even bleed anymore FFS!!! To your anonymous (obviously imaginary) friend. Don't be afraid dear, come out from your closet and play; it's ok.... Everyone is shy at first, I know I was and depending on topic, how passionate you feel about it, and how much you've had to drink (and subsequently your ability to string a cohesive sentence/argument together) will determine your place and people's responses here. Ultimately everyone has a right to thier perspective it's just personal choice if you feel that strongly you want to share it. Don't take anything personally either, the forums can be great for learning resilience too. We were all new at this once..... - Posted from rhpmobile

Was that once a 'how long have you been here' thread was in action I learnt that some of the people I had perceived as being long-term posters had only just arrived really - but they dived in headfirst and simply spoke with confidence... AND YEAH GOLDEN RULE OF INTERNET COMMUNICATION - unless you have met someone in person and have a real life connection don't buy into any cyber emotions...

Remembering back to the first few times with posting some idiotic idea, pretending that I had some intelligent contribution to the forums, it took forever to see the post come to light, 3 or 4 pages later, and by then most had moved on to new topics. That took some time to get use to. Instant posting threw me off, as it seemed that everyone but me or us were having more real time conversations. Then someone must have gone back to the archived thread and read a post, I had written and I copped it, for just one word. But I did learn that a word can be taken many ways, so as a newbie I did find that depending as to how you conduct yourself with the regular posters is more like a bit of a test. People get to know each other in here, some it is a social world where being remote, even work, would probably be a lot lonelier without finding something as social these forums can provide. So it is a place where emotions, feelings, friendships and all that jazz does and will be the life of these forums. That does take a bit of time to become familiar with and writing stuff, as you would speak can be frustrating, if taken the wrong way, again without instant posting was a hard way to see that things were taken for how you meant them to be. Hope this helps anyone that wants to be a part with the crowd, it's not the crowd that ignores you, just for a while it is the timing with the way the forum posts are checked out by the "powers to be" and passed on to us. The more you post the quicker things begin to happen. Now I have the intellectual capacity of a toasted muffin, so I bullshit my way to most things, but for Tara is my love and the smarter one of us, she lets me play here, because we are out near woop woop. Nahh, I do say some things straight from the heart, and they are an honest attempt for whatever intended and who may be asking for just that. Mado Mado, Tara xx

We're fairly new. My advice would be read lots (which I think you said you have been, good start!), comment where you want to but don't feel like you have to jump in on everything, address comments to specific posters if you want to refer to something they've said but be careful about getting overly familiar too early (this can backfire). Be prepared to be contradicted but know that it's all part of it. There are some awesome people in here and there is a lot of information (and a whole hell of a lot of opinion!) Mostly though, have fun!! x Me

Well I have to say, the forums are my most favourite thing about this site. I comment on some, but not all and I read most of them in all topics..it quite refreshing, to hear some sometimes brutal honesty. I also spend a lot of time giggling/lol/pml at a lot of you (in a good way). Please let me introduce myself to you all, Lovinit28 aka Ms Donna

I've never met someone who doesn't comment on the forums to me whether they've never, used to, or ir/regularly post. They will bring it up and almost always say the same things. I dunno about anyone else but there are several people I would not want to be in the forums. .I'm looking at 6.5 years of service in the forums, so far...

My advice is to say whatever you want to say. Don't let other peoples opinions effect your ego. Listen to the advice given but back it up with your own research. This place is a way to learn and have a laugh. And don't forget the best lover is a fun one....

I remember when I first started posing on here and the amount of time I was shot down by the grammar police, the spelling police and the very very opinionated. I still get slapped on the arse from time to time though hey... Enjoy the forums newbies and have a go! if you get shot down...BITE BACK! It can be fun and I do love a champers and a nibble

I have been a forum tragic since Oct. last year. I threw my dummy in the sand once only to give it a rinse and pop it back in a couple of weeks later. (I'm the kid in the forums who sits in the corner playing with herself) ... I meant BY! By herself!

Hello SP and CT and glad to see you posting. Have been a forum addict (lol) for about 18 months but lurked for about 6 months before finally working up the balls to post for the first time. Best advice for Newbies and Lurkers is don't be afraid and post away and most of all, just be yourself. Us regulars don't bite too much .... W.

I've been here 15 months, started posting on the forums on day one! Love the varied opinions and information you get from here. I take a break every now and then when life gets a little busy .....if I have to chose between having sex or writing about it then it's an easy decision! I've met quite a few of the regulars as I usually get down to Sydney 7/8 times a year and Brisbane monthly. - Posted from rhpmobile

I want the blue ones! Welcome newbies. I hope you have lots of fun here. I've been around, off and on, for 7 years next month. Like others it took me a while to post in the forums and go into the chat rooms. I remember my first foray into the chat rooms where words came and went so fast I thought I would never get the hang of it. Now I know how it works but I rarely bother. I do like to read the forums and contribute my opinions though I certainly don't comment on every thread. I also like to take a break and close my profile, sometimes for a few weeks, sometimes for a few months. So have fun, stay safe and yeah, tell it like you want to.

I was a forum addict long before I joined RHP 3 months ago, so I slid right in, so to speak. One forum I was on previously that prepared me for here was The Tao Bums, a site dedicated the to many & various spiritual and energy cultivation practices. The threads there were constantly in flame wars, though the place was VERY lightly moderated. Like here, there were pot stirrers, geniuses, and some very helpful members who took interest in your wellbeing, and gave great insight into life and their realms of specialty. As a newby, you may find it daunting to crack the inner circle on the forums. The regular posters are very familiar with each other, and delayed posting as mentioned above seems to put a new post out of context at times if the topic has moved on, so a reply to your post is less likely. The best way I have seen this done was by the sexy & gracious Mrs Me, who took a different approach and would quote a members post, say 'that's interesting' and ask a question of the other member rather than the common approach of simply stating your opinion on the topic. Welcome, and I have a spare bullet proof vest if you should ever need one 😉

I remember as a Newbie my friend telling me she had been on rhp 3 and half years... I was gobsmacked, now Im coming up to four years. I can see why, Its my social buzz, my friends, our own saucy facebook! Well done Stir! How very harmonious of you! Now that you have shown us your soft underbelly, please do not kill us. Lol Newbies, Listen up to your aunty Annabella, You would have clicked on a forum thread cos the topic got your attention right? If it got your attention, you must have something to say on it! Say it! If it gets your goat, say it, but say why. If something is amazing tell us! If you disagree and you know damn well your facts are correct (cos you've just done a sneaky google search to check)then for gods sake say so! I have had that done to me, and I just said "wow! I stand corrected, thanks for the headsup." Just always remember, like anywhere, be polite and respectful. If you write.."Nah Stir, you got that completely wrong, what were you on when you wrote that..." its obviously going to get his back up. If you cause someone to feel embarressed, then its obvious they will want to regain their footing by striking back. I don't know Stir, even though hes been here 3 and half years.... so I'm not "familiar" with him, but I gathered from his post, he'd like the humour in what I just wrote. So I wrote it... Evaluate how it will be perceived by the other readers, are they going to get where you are coming from? Posters on forums, are not moderators, or in any other way different from you. The are just regular contributors. You do get a bit of connection going on after a while, and then things start to feel a bit one tracked for the newbies, especially when you don't have instant posting, they do! So all you see is their banter and no acknowledgement of your input (cos it aint there yet) Well you know how to fix that don't you? Contribute! Post and post daily. Thoughtful remarks, shared experiences, knowledge of an area in your field of expertise. Eventually RHP powers that be will see you are a thoughtful and respectful, non aggressor or stirrer and will award you with instant posting. Simple. Comments are not open for scrutinisation by the regulars, just don't start whining threads about why you can't get a date. I tried that once, and I still cant get a date! Just deal with it. LOL Or you will be asked in a polite, eloquent, succinct well thought out way to - Just deal with it. Welcome - Lurve fresh meat... I mean Newbies xxx Aunty Anna xxxx

I hadnt been in the forums for a while until they changed my beloved chat room style, I dummyspat it out of there and sulkingly came back here... I like the fast paced instant response in chat, no other reason lol! I was surprised at how many people had gone or maybe changed their names since my abscence. I felt like a Newb! Did it worry me? Nope, I just picked up where I left off and wrote like I own it. Now that I have seen how long some of you have been here, I want to know your old names! I'll start... I was Annabella237 she had to be shut down when the ex found out about her... How dare he think such sordid things bout my sordid life! So funny going into chat or here, and no-one knew me as Annazon. So I effectively became a newbie overnight! Meh, that feeling lasted all of 5 minutes. So Knots? Stir? I know recently it was Sir Lurk.. prior please Wild Song? Mrs P - love ya long time, you havent changed at least! Inspirit - just joking - we ruled the chatroom the other night like a pair of wicked Dominatrix xxx (inspirit held my hand and led me back into the light) AND WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH DGT??? Don't go There with Mischievious Lad? Serious? WTF?
