I was totally disappointed in Sexpo the one year I went. It was just like one big adult store. For some reason I was expecting interesting groups and information about different lifestyles, etc. But there are after parties I think. Have fun OP. You should head on over and check out the few swingers clubs we have here as well if you haven't been already. :)

I went to last years Sydney International Boat Show.... hoping to learn all about waterspouts. Man, was I disappointed. lol

Something always seems to get in the way. The one time we did go was interesting enough, we enjoyed ourselves but the prices seemed a bit inflated. If enough RHPers put their hands up to go, we might make a more concerted effort in making an appearance.

I went for the first time with my lover earlier this year when Sexpo was in Adelaide, expecting them to have a Sybian on display for test riding.... but nothing.... much to my disappointment :P - Posted from rhpmobile

I found it rather boring here in Melbourne, mind you , I have never been along to the night activities. I think there are supposed to be stage shows and peeps shows, porn stars, etc. The general floor there is a lot of the same shit stall after stall, it is a bit repetitive. Ron Jeremy was there when I went and he was the disgusting slob I imagined he was, didn't smile, wore trakkie daks and thongs and really looked like he couldn't give a shit that he was there. There was a bdsm display with a woman being whipped. Took a ride on the sex train, boring as batshit. I do work in the industry though so most of it was nothing new to me.

Oh no we sound like old jaded people!! HighCouple when I went there were lots of young people there, and most likely lots of things will be new for you so you will find it good. Ignore us old fuddy duddies. :-D

Sexpo is really just a trade show, like the Boat Show or Better Homes and Garden Live. If you don't expect too much it can be fun, but you probably want to plan something a little more concrete to follow it up with. It's a cheesy diversion at best.

You put your finger on it when you said "nothing new to me". For a start, I expect there's only so much they can do (in so far as what they are legally allowed to portray and 'simulate' etc). And when it comes to sex, I imagine the people on this site have pretty much a good idea of all there is to know in terms of what's available, who does what and ALL of the how, where, whens and whys... I suppose I'm saying that "Ma and Pa Kettle a la suburban Sydney/Melbourne etc" would probably be shocked and horrified, comatose in wonderment or walking around all day with a hard on... But for us, probably not too much new to see or hear about. Just my take... I've never been, but I have seen and heard first-hand, the VERY different ways in which, what may be termed as your average 'couple' have sex, don't talk about sex, don't think about sex (except for the 5 minutes on the third Saturday night of every month... ). My experience on the more 'traditional' dating sites, for a number of years, is that your average 'separated, divorced or widowed' lady after 15 - 20 something years of marriage, is the complete and total lack of satisfaction they had in their lives and the absolute ignorance of the fact that the things they have (very much to themselves) wondered and possibly yearned for, are the same things that more enlightened couples (married, de-facto, just partners and just seeing each other) live most every day. So, for some it's probably a jaw dropper and a hopefully fruitful experience for both members of a couple. I do hope so for their sakes. Now all they have to do is TALK about it and what's really on their minds, instead of being afraid their partner will accuse them of 'deviancy' and have them stoned in Martin Place.

... then I got bored. Like someone said, it's like a big sex toy trade show with a few bare breasted girls. Not complaining they had nice tits and were nice eye candy. The year I went in Sydney ( only went once ) one stand had a Sybian .. That was interesting watching volunteers reactions, too funny.. Tulips4u.. ' sorry u missed out.. It looked fun for the girls game enough to give it a go..lots of laughs, lol. IF' they had more variety , such as a tent for couples and available singles to mingle ' I think that would work. If someone from Sexpo reads this , take some advice and give it some serious thought.

I went to the very first one they had here in Melbourne oh so many years ago gee have I gotten that old now I would waist my money on going better just to go to an adult store like ralf's :)It's great if you are young and not well informed about sex it could be a little kinky

Will be my fifth sexpo... they seem to vary depending on the day and location, the last one I attended was in QLD and was quite disappointing. As I have always been with my partner my view was for things as a couple, this year am going with friends so things may look shiny and new and be seen in a different light. Given this is your first visit as "swingers" you may find your perspective of the vendors and presentations may be different to your previous visit. SG
