Couldn’t help but notice Jessica Rabbit’s thread about organizing an event based around certain criteria, and all the flack she was copping for it. While I agree, if she’s hosting, and it’s her party then she’s well within her right to invite whoever the hell she damn well pleases, it did raise an interesting question in the back of my mind....For all the oft insightful regular forum contributors, how many of you have actually personally planned an event, what were your criteria, how much notice did you give, what was your turn out like and what was the overall outcome? Secondly, couldn’t help but notice a couple of couples complaining about a lack of bi-couple only events, would anyone be interested if such an event were to become available on the horizon? Was thinking of organizing something myself but unless we have the numbers/expressions of interest it’s too much paperwork and far too much of a fiscal riskal at this time of year. - L

We organised a couple events a little while back, both times the guy we invited turned up, we all had a ball, very raunchy. Tara was a very good host, she did not know which way to turn most of the time though. Multi talented. Mado Tara xx

Age was open - but I am 41 after all. The two Sydney ones were awesome - one at the Watershed (after Sexpo) and the other at the Opera Bar (which wasn't as successful as the Navy Fleet review was on and people were unsure if the venue was accessible.) Great venues on the Harbour and lots of naughtiness both before and after the actual events! I tried to get one going in Central West (Bathurst) but was poorly attended. I tried to give at least a months notice as it give time for people who travel time to get organised. Mea's one was the best attended so far - she has a knack for these things and is definitely the hostess with the mostest ... For those considering organising an event - just do it! What's the worst that can happen? No one shows but you have a great night out anyway.

There is another one this Saturday in Sydney, organised by the gorgeous JayJay. Can't wait! To answer the question: The one in January I organised was put up in the Events Section two months ahead of time. I started a forum at the same time to make people aware and create interest. (In the national forums. Not enough people read the local ones, and we ended up getting several interstate visitors!)I didn't post criteria, though did state in the event description a smile was mandatory and an open mind preferred. There was no paperwork or money involved, people turned up at the public venue and paid their own way. I did reserve a few tables ahead of time. Out of well over 100 RSVPs around 60 people turned up. A few of us regulars put our face pics up before the event, so others would recognize us. It was a great night!

We organised a bi meeting at a nice little out of the place, out of the 15 people that said they would turn up, couples and single guys, the only people that turned upwhere not from RHP... that was 2, the others all from RPH did not turn up, did not contact us, nothing... there was 5 of us in the end and we had a good time... but I am so pissed off at the attitude of all the rest... total rudeness... One couple and one single did get in touch about a month later with their excuses.... I will never try to put together an event on RHP again,,, have had much better results on Craigs list We have also had simular issues with play-dates, a lot of wanna be players on this site Cheers Durty
