Dry July

July 04 2019

I added the fact that I’m doing “ Dry July” to my profile,,, I thought it would be appropriate as so members can see that and not suggest we meet for an alcoholic drink . RHP alerted it and asked me to remove it ? Why would RHP be opposed to cancer awareness ? Surely it’s not the most offensive statement they have come across ? Your thoughts guys ? And what has RHP blocked you from saying? - Posted from rhpmobile

You could just as simply inform the people inviting you for a drink that you're doing Dry July and have a lemonade 🤷‍♀️

If members are inviting you for a drink your doing better than most. If it works don’t fix it, lemon lime and bitters.

RHP is weird that way,They allow a couple that admit to having Herpies on the site to make money out of them. But when it comes to a good cause they are against it?????? WEIRD.

Softcpl, they may have herpes (which they freely admit) but at least they're not trolls 🤷‍♀️

It won’t be about it being offensive at all...why people even think that sort of stuff right from the get go is beyond me.... But I’d suggest it’s about the content being classed as advertising a 3rd party’s event that’s not affiliated with RHP, therefore no benefit to the site, and hence it’s encouraged to be removed....

I’m also curious....why is it you seemingly lack the self control to not consume alcohol just because you’re invited ?? Can you not be in a pub and order a water or something ?

It’s a Sydney thing, Western suburbs, WA translation, think Balga, Kwinana, Armadale. The suburban arseholes version of identity politics.

I really have no idea what someone’s personal declarations regarding their sexual health really has to do with this issue?? One is declaring sexual health status so that others can make an informed choice, the other is a declaration of intentions that I’m not so sure hold the same level of relevance when it comes to meeting people...unless of course the intention behind it is more about the personal marketing appeal than the cause itself ....

Soft couple- if your going to insult people of the west at least spell the suburb correctly! Born and Bred Westie, even further west. Never met anyone who has stds/herpes let alone bed hops with it

If they allow Softcouple to use the forum, they have no morals.

Dislike anything said about them so expect the mods to self moderate and delete this. Obviously the work experience kid is back on the pc to allow the thread. She is so cool....

I'm not sure why that would have been alerted, we have had posts about Dry July, Movember & others with no issues. I'd suggest you ask them for a specific reason because they are very open to communication. I'd be curious to know myself. I can't say I've ever had trouble with write ups on my profiles over time. Hm, cheers, Peachy

I agree with Anti., it seems more something to maybe mention when you're sitting in front of them, rather than on your profile. Always curious that people feel the need to make such a big deal re not drinking or whatever, for a set period. I realise it's an awareness and fundraising association usually with such things, just not always convinced of the connection. And why not donate to a good cause, because it's a good cause, if something satisfies that criteria, why give anything up? We often don't have a drink for two, three, five, six weeks at a time, don't even notice. If we did it, it would be like so many other months. .. As for the debate on page one re Westies, Mt. Druitt, pffft, in my day it was anyone who lived west of the CBD, seriously, Balmain was west. In fact, it kind of extended to people South of Centennial Park. Of course we never even spoke of the hoards on the north side of the harbour 😃😁. As usebi said Evie, it was a Sydney thing initially, to my knowledge, used by some to build fragile self-esteem and denigrate people they viewed as inferior. It may also have equivalents, Brisbane residents of The Gap v's those of Beenleigh, or areas with a canal or on an island on the GC and inhabitants of Nearing. Don't know, not sure. Many these days seem to have embraced the idea of bogans, even being cool. A status symbol in itself. Part of the, no we came from dirt poor, we are the real Australians argument, perhaps. I guess sometimes, some people need to fill their time with crap and name calling. .. As for your question OP., re things I've been blocked from...😁 .. Mr. urn. . The Forums are a special place, enjoy your time posting on them OP.
