EDITING THE STUFF YOU WROTE

January 23 2014

Don't you wish you could edit the stuff you write on here? Imagine my dismay, returning after so many years to find this feature still sadly lacking. What if I make a spelling mistake? What if I say something otherwise regrettable which I think ought be sanctioned? Hell. What if I have a brain spasm and my grammar is poor? HugsGazpacho

Not here though, not everything needs to be all proper like, not everything is a mistake "iether", spell check could change it to "Wether", that could change the whole idea in the first place. It has been mentioned that "context" has it's overall values. Eg, what is it you are saying for your tongue pic to have any meaning. I see it as artistic and Tara sees it as meaning a lot more than that. Not worth getting down about, just carry on and be the entirety of the whole lot you express, bits and pieces are just bits and pieces. "I before E except after C", something like that if it helps, the objectivity can be swept aside then. Mado Tara xx

Good one Mado! I thrive on the value of context; cultural, environmental and physical, all specific. Lately I've seen a lot of posts on Facebook in particular, where only the first and last letter of a word are correct, and our clever little brains still work out what is being written. This is not what I mean. I mean, when I write by stream of consciousness and press send before re-reading, I sometimes omit to communicate important components of my thinking, albeit in haste, which could lead me to offend someone, or heaven forbid, be misinterpreted. In those instances, I would like the opportunity to make amends. Worse, is when spell check on my iPad makes it's own determination of what it is, that I am saying! Of course, it matters little, but the little things matter. I like your haircut. Hugs Gazpacho

Hugs Gazpacho Being misunderstood it happens now and then, though when it has it has made for some of the better conversations to it. If that is the worry for speaking without edit, and it finds it's way to the best in people, maybe edit would be more to what we think others expect to read and think nothing much to it. We can always say what we mean to it later, if it comes to question. But I am a froot loop, so what I think may differ from others. he he.

I'm a impulsive type and say it as I see it.. So yeah, I often regret some of the things I say , mainly because it may have hurt someone which was not my intention... Someone once said I often get misunderstood .. Must be true because I'm always in the shite for something and quite often I don't know why? Awwww well.

Editing not so much, I'm glad it's on Facebook though, but there are judgemental eyes who know me personally on there, so I find myself occassionally deleting a comment or status update. You never know who is reporting my comments back to my past life. > I would like paragraphing back when typing on an iPhone though... (I have typed "return" where there is actually a nice line space between my sentences as of right now! When I hit "send comment" in a moment, it will look like one mad speed induced writing rant!) > On here though, I don't care!!! I like that I can be myself and say what I think!!

I've never heard of, nor seen replicas of the Victorian table leg covers. This is an intriguing development that I will need to investigate further. Thank you Qefenta2. I can't help but try and insert a u in there.... Is that an intentional word pun? Hugs Gazpacho

Haha! Yes, after years of therapy I'm back, and greatful for the fact that I can still recognise some great sets of ta~TAS and legs when they grace my presence! Xxxxx Annazon, I'd kill for a line break right about now,, I suspect. Lmfao. Mado, your better half is a hell of a saucy lookin' gypsy. I'm pretty sure we've met before in person in one guise or another. Keep up the love! There are so few of us flower people remaining that I think the movement needs a modern revamp. I've spent a lot of time in my orchid collection lately, thinking, and youngsters just don't seem to know how to grow anything. They're the ultimate consumers.... They'll all talk up big about saving the planet by supporting the environmental cause and then paradoxically, they'll go and buy a new mobile phone every other month. The simple things matter damn it! Xxxxx Hugs Gazpacho

I'm anti-edit. I will suffer all of your and my paragraphless, typo-ridden, autocorrect fail-full brain farts for the simple joy of being able to read what people wish they could redact. So many good forums on other sites end up a long list of posts that just say "deleted" "edit" "removed" and you just KNOW you missed some great foot-in-mouth moments xx Sarah I will confess to having reported one or two of my own posts in the past where I've completely fucked up something that was supposed to be humorous but on re-reading I came off sounding like a raging bitchmonster.

SOME of us just plain don't give a rats arse if we make mistakes, put in the odd typo, auto correct or gaffe. There are even a few (putting up hand here) who don't even care if we seriously offend. . Welcome back! - Posted from rhpmobile
