Favourite coffee mugs

June 08 2017

What's your favourite mugs? I have several... There's one in the kitchen right now which at first glance reads "Best Job Around" but upon closer inspection of the fine print hidden in the design actually reads "Sometimes the Best part of my Job is that the chair spins Around". Next is one that makes use of an oval tigers eye gemstone and some painted lines to create a cockroach in the bottom of the mug. You wont however see it until you've drank all but the very last dregs of your coffee. Next is one i only have from description in a Terry Pratchett novel which originally read "You don't have to be mad to work here, but helps" that thanks to some fading now reads "Be mad it helps". Lastly was 3 cups altered to a design of a friends which had the words "Go away Todd" written on the bottom so that whenever the annoyance known as Todd would attempt to strike up conversation we could simply take a nonchalant sip. I will also accept perfectly ordinary mugs that you treasure because they were mother's day/father's day/birthday/other gifts or simply rare or precious to you if you justify your answer. Teacups also accepted.

Can I mention my gold gilded teapot that I won as part of an Avon promotion in my dark history? I don't even use it, just like to look at it, lol. I have a favourite mug that I've only ever used as a prop for a photo on here. Love that mug. I found it in a secondhand shop and knew straight away what I was going to be doing with it. For actually drinking out of, I have a small lilac mug that I keep using even though it has a crack at the top of the handle! One of these days... I keep searching for a new one but it's all about shape, size and colour/design and small mugs are not easy to find. Sigh... Peachy

The one we notice the most when we open the cupboard is a bright pink "hot mama" cup.

My favourite standard mug is from Redbubble, it has - surprise surprise - a gorgeous dragon design on it. Another favourite is a travel mug which was a present from a wonderful friend. This friend knows of my love for sloths, and it has an awesome evil sloth with 'feed me the souls of the wicked' written on it.

Just saw a pic where someone was looking for their favourite coffee cup... It was under the cat's arse! The pic on the cup was Pooh Bear... Small things... Peachy, laughing at life's vagaries.

😀😉 I prefer to drink out of a paper cup. Serious, my family know this, I've been doing it for years. Even if I sit in a coffee place, I order in a paper cup. I just don't don't like the marriage of hot coffee in a cold glass cup, don't like the feel of the glass on my lips, and has the benefit of the kiddie lid so I don't spill on myself 😊 actually that still doesn't work, I end up with coffee on me at some point every day. I also like to be free to keep moving, I drink as I'm walking lol So to answer your question, Muzz Buzz or coffee club, paper cup with lid and/or straw, is my favourite 😀

Was my fathers, nothing to exciting about this cup, except it was my Dads. It's an old, large, little brown in color, with a little pattern on the side and I love it. Everytime I have a coffee I think of my Dad, so it's a nice reminder. I also have a lovely travel mug, bought for me by OS with "you can never have to much happy" on it and a old pink enamel mug that I love. 💋

Quoting 'I_touch_myself2' I just don't don't like the marriage of hot coffee in a cold glass cupThis is actually really common. While it wont solve your other problems boiling an extra cup of water and using it to pre-warm the mug is the solution to the cold mug problem. And in fact is what you're supposed to do with teacups and teapots if you have any interest in having a proper cup of tea.

It has my real name on it....THE ONLY ANYTHING I've ever found with my name on it😳 The others are my old melamine tin cup that matches my billy from my train driving days and the one my gf Moosh bought me which says "Withoit stress my life would be empty." And my morning work coffee mug (jumbo sized) my Mummy got me from Disneyland and it says "Mornings aren't pretty." 😊 (Shrugs) I like a choice 😁

is an oversize mug.... I require ALOT of coffee in the mornings :) After that I am an absolute sucker for anything with a pop culture reference (I have a SOA one and would LOVE a DEADPOOL one) or some kind of smart ass quip, preferably with swearing as that compliments my personality perfectly ;) Oh and glitter is my favourite colour so that would be a bonus :D

They are white, and each has a botanical image on it : one has a purple flag Iris, another a yellow Daffodil, and the third a white Hyacinth. They used to hang, from hooks on the underside of the over benchtop cupboards, in the kitchen of our historical house out in the country, and so they remind us of the life we enjoyed before moving to the city. We also have some antique Minton & Rosenthal coffee cups , but they are smaller and would not be classified as "mugs", and are brought out for dinner parties only.

I don't drink tea or coffee but still have my favourite in the cupboard. It is my old Skippy the bush kangaroo mug.The matching plate is now long gone. Also just barely showing on the Skippy mug now is the Bay City Rollers decal I also decorated it with. You had to send a money order and two fruit tin labels to get it. Also have 2 or 3 Best Dad Ever mugs - Fathers day presents from the kids Mr Luvsilver

lol solving my other problems, good luck there 😂😂 Great idea for warming the cup, but I don't know how to explain it, glass doesn't seem to go with coffee, it tastes better in a paper cup, bit like Cadbury dairy milk roll, tastes better round 😀 seriously, I've had that conversation in the supermarket aisle with random people, who agree. Square isn't as good 😀😉 And that is on topic because I have a banana and chocolate with a coffee, every day for breakfast, eat the banana first, then the coffee and chocolate together mmm 😋 I do drink coffee out of glass at home but under sufferance. Tea I don't drink at all, I hate it. Don't mind a Milo on a cold night

Well, my favourite lilac cup was retired by my husband today, he wasn't prepared to let me take the chance of that crack in the handle breaking any longer. Gotta love 'im. Hasta la vista coffee cup, you shall serve me well in another purpose, Peachy

I have an old rizla mug a friend gave me about 12 years ago with Dunka written on it. I have dropped it many times but has always landed on the handle!! The last drop chipped if the last stubs of the handle but its still my favourite and use it everyday. Although now I am super careful!! - Posted from rhpmobile

$2 clip/flip cup/mug from Target. Better than keepcups because if it topples over and it's closed properly there's no leakage. The top screws on and the clip/flip is a nice tightish fit. I just need to get a few more different outer rubber "bands" from other keepcups to accessorise with As for the lady, I dare say, her for fox sale mug, it's rather amusing, but she does have a nice pussy one too - Posted from rhpmobile

That are similar but slightly different shapes,It took me ages to find them. They are bone china with beautiful kookaburras on them. The handles are gently curved ...just right for my fingers.I drink coffee t least three times a day so they are well used. I sometimes drink out of two large cup and saucers of the English china variety with floral designs...love a well made cup or mug.Q

You reminded me Q, I love a decent size, well shaped... handle, honestly, sorry I couldn't resist that naughty suggestion. The cup I'm using now, out of our huge collection, has 10 pics of cats in various poses that is so cuuute. The handle has a woven picnic basket texture. I'm ashamed to say I've fallen in love with it already. It has similarities to my retired cup that it has a lilac tone in the borders around the cat pictures. 'Scuse my essay. Peachy

I totally get that... Coke tastes terrible out of plastic. Better to pour it into a cold glass or out of the glass bottle. Sadly my current main use cups is whatever is at the front of the shelf at the time. I used to use exclusively a massive one that was a mates when i lived with him. It was actually a soup mug about 2-3 times the size of a coffee mug. These days i just go with many cups instead of 1 big one. Often i don't even drink the damn thing but instead use it to warm my hands when i'm gaming and my fingers just wont respond fast enough.

Today hubby was telling me about a mates mug that is multiple times the size of a normal mug. He was saying the sides bow out hugely and it holds over a litre of liquid! Thinking about it makes me feel bloated... Oh yes, and I tend to use all those coffee cups people give us for all sorts of different purposes around the house so I get to enjoy them rather than hiding them away. Peachy

Each day, I have at least one "instant" in the large mug my eldest made at kindy. It had daubings of colour on it, and had been fired 🔥 in their kitchen oven. It goes in our dishwasher each day and 17 years later it's still good as gold and the instant tastes extra good in it! At the same time I had about 400 mugs printed for clients and we kept a few, which are used when we're gardening etc. they are faded to being unrecognisable, Moral of the story: if you want promotional mugs, get em done at a kindergarten!
