Female-led relationships (FLR)

Hi everyone - we have recently moved from LA to Brisbane and excited to explore the community. One notable difference is the relationship that Australian culture has towards women compared to Americans at a pop culture level (let's not get into politics!). It seems there is much stronger narrative of strong, sassy, dominant, and leading woman in the US compared to Australia which is not wrong or a complaint, but just interesting to observe. We have been looking for other couples, dominant women, and submissive men, but have found it challenging as most women on RHP seem to identify as submissive, and the men who reach out are very aggressive in their approach. We have a female-led relationship (FLR) where the woman is the one who leads, has the final decision in all matters, and our focus is optimised towards pleasing and fulfilling her wants and needs. This may (and does) include his own needs/desires, and it invariably fulfills his need to serve. Our relationship also has a D/s dynamic which includes kink and can be discussed separately, but this only amplifies the underlying dynamic. The FLR dynamic is not inherently kink-based, but instead a conscious choice to defer to and serve the woman in the relationship first. We like to think of it as a Queen/knight dynamic. He can still be a man amongst men, but above all, he serves his Queen. What we've found anecdotally is that any would argue that most relationships are ALREADY run by the women, (happy wife/happy life etc), but there seems to be a constant power struggle as men and women try to find their role, personal fulfillment, and power in their relationships. We'd love to meet others out there (Australia wide) who have explored (or want to explore) the female led dynamic, and would like to hang out with like minds. We aren't rushing into playing, but would instead prefer to help empower and support other individuals and couples out there who this dynamic resonates with, and would like to learn, explore, and try it with us. If it leads to more, then awesome, but we are not trying to force anything. Our idea is to have some tea parties / drinks / bbqs / whatever for others who want to have a chill and no-pressure environment to meet other young, responsible, and professional couples, who know deep down that they'd prefer if she was properly empowered to run the show, and he was properly empowered to serve, protect, and please her. Again, this isn't kink-driven, but we welcome, accept and understand that any dynamic is often expressed through various kinks and sexual acts. Lastly, by choosing a female led relationship, we are not anti male-led relationships. It's what works for us and we hope to meet others who feel the same way. What you seek you will find. There are profiles with quite dominant women in both couples or as singles. It may feel like a needle in a hay stack but keep looking - Australian women dominant or submissive) are a force to be reckoned with. Good luck Mxxx

On Fetlife there are niche groups regarding Female Lead Relationships, male submissives etc. This includes state by state or individial cities. Might be another place to find like-minded.

Thank you all for the replies :) Yes we are already active on Fetlife and various other forums! We hoped we might be able to find those who aren't on there, and who feel compelled by, or quietly live our dynamic, and would like to explore it more with us.

Interesting. We are Mistress and slave in the bedroom during play. Haven't made a conscious decision to take this dynamic further but i do tend to be the gatekeeper and final decision maker for boring everyday issues but major decisions are made together. Still trying to determine if it's society's view that has influenced this or the fact that we'd be dead in a week if my partner was responsible for a lot of things hahaha.
