💓💓 Free the Nipple Movement 💓💓

July 11 2015

It's an American initiative that has become predominant on my social media feeds. .The ultimate goal being to "decriminalise female toplessness in the US and empower women across western nations in a greater effort toward global gender equality"..Women are superimposing male nipples on their breasts on Instagram to make a point of the ridiculous double standard. 'Scuse pun. .What say ye of the fora? .Cheers, Peachy

Why would woman superimpose male nipples onto their own breasts ???. Firstly, I agree standard nipples can look alike but different; However, a turned on female nipple looks completely different. And men generally are only attracted to female nipples if they are either turned on or cold (bit of ice Hehe). Apart from that it is the breast itself (or both) that attracts the mans eye. There is no double standard, female breasts are made for a reason. (Love them)

Lol Single Guy, it's legal to show a man's nipple but not a female one. ;-).The breast is primarily for breast feeding? :-D Something that women still have to go hide away to do so as not to offend anyone. .I have raised the equality issue re the boob in the forum before. Peachy

(Love them) pretty sure I could find photos of male and female nipples that you couldn't tell apart - particularly small, tight nipples. Anyway, its because Instagram have a rule that you can't post pictures with bare female nipples - so they're posting them that way instead of using a black censor block or similar

that in New York city it's legal for women to go topless in public, and there are some who do just that. I stumbled across a blog once about a group of New York women who organise outings and get-togethers where they go topless. Although they might get a few glances and the occasional over-zealous guy, on the whole they were left alone and not made to feel uncomfortable. However, New York is obviously a whole different kettle of fish to Australian cities. Even if it was legal in Australia I can just imagine some of the reactions

I don't know what to think about this movement. Men sexualise the female breast - so wouldn't this simply objectify any woman with their boobs on show through the male eyes? Until men change their attitude on female breasts, which isn't going to happen - I don't see this movement achieving it's objective. On the other hand, if this movement simply aims to create discussion on gender equality - I can't think of a better catalyst than boobs.

always boobies 😝...if the nipple was always on show they wouldn't be as obsessed..In other cultures it's certainly no big deal and of course the Victorian gent salivated at the delicious glimpse of a well turned ankle ...phoar as they say...so free the nips I say 😘xxFreya

..... also nice to have concealed assets ? ..... I think that a glimpse of areola is far more tantalising than the whole fruit ? ... but i guess that can up to the individual. But for me ... Im keeping mine covered .. cause its a tad chilly here

The article that the OP is referring to showed up on News.com today (yeah, yeah I'm real highbrow when it comes to my news sources lol), along with helpful pictures showing various celebs and their Instagram pics with male nipples pasted in. The article also asked the question about whether male nipples looked different to female nipples, and attempted to provide another helpful pic comparing the two. See why I like that particular news site?? Unfortunately the pic itself wasn't visible... just showed as box with the words 'Content not Allowed'. Oh, the irony! Agree with Freya that if female nipples were always on show, we wouldn't make such a big deal out catching the occasional glimpse. Doing my bit with my current profile pic :)

In the flesh, you'd probably get a similar reaction here if it was a large group - a few people who will stop and stare, but a large group has a sort of normalising effect on what the group is doing. On a nude beach you feel like the weirdo until you strip off, at the Sydney Opera house nude picture it quickly became just normal standing around (except for being fucking cold) Besides, I expect a Nipples-n-Nibbles gathering in Hyde park would be much the same as nude beaches - most of the people who are getting about with their bits on show are a lot more average and everyday-Joe/Jill than the bikini-model types bystanders are hoping for.

You can have a look for yourself, I found the blog. I forgot it was a reading / book group. Anyway, google ''outdoor co-ed topless pulp fiction appreciation society'' (it's NSFW though, there are pics including nude ones). As for your other points, maybe, but I still think there would be differences in the reactions. When you go to a nude beach or a nude photo shoot you're surrounded by people who are of a similar mindset, are all there for the same thing, and it's not a surprise to anyone to see the bits on display. It's a different context. Also, I think it would depend on location. Maybe in Sydney it wouldn't garner as much of a reaction, but here in Townsville I strongly suspect it would be a different story.

(lol, thanks for the warning - I kinda figured they would be :) )

And yeah I figured you would most likely realise it was NSFW but thought I should mention it anyway, also for the benefit of other people reading who may have gone to check it out.
