Girls at the gym

August 28 2013

I am sure most guys check out the ladies at the gym , my question is how do the ladies feel about this? I ask because I was absently staring at a lady working out next to me this morning as I was taking a rest, she wore the usual Lycra leggings and top displaying her camel toe, as she sat up she couldn't help notice me staring, I wasn't being subtle, she gave me a lovely smile, I realized I was staring and quickly smiled , more out of embarrassment and got on with my workout. I now feel that if ladies did not want to be appreciated by male gym members baggy shorts and tee shirts would be the most common attire. What do ladies think?- Posted from rhpmobile

Women should not have to (and most do not)dress for the men at the gym - if you're easily distracted that's your problem. Do not for one second think that we wear tight clothes so that men will look at us. It's a practicality thing - tight clothes don't slip around and get in the way. Rant over... Secondly, I get really red faced and sweaty at the gym and pull funny faces so the last thing I feel is sexy. Having someone perve is a double-edged sword: I love that they're obviously liking what they see but I feel self-conscious cause I know I look far from my best. Ultimately though, I take it as a compliment and provided it isn't leering, I like to be looked at appreciatively. I love something hot to look at myself and pick the machines at the back just for the view, but I like to think I'm subtle ;) Jess xx- Posted from rhpmobile

In a perfect world, women could walk down the street totally naked and not be objectified by the male of the species. Thankfully, for many and varied reasons....we do not live in a perfect world.... referring to her 'camel toe' proves that lol The gym is a public place... and for the most part people behave the same there as any other public place. A perve is ok, leering is not. If you get caught looking and it embarrasses you, she will notice your submissive behaviour. My view is its better to apologize for staring, with a compliment.... which leaves the option for conversation open. For example..."sorry, I realise I was just staring..... but I'm impressed how hard you seem to push yourself" DG

Also..... Mr luv2lik I'd like to put it this way..... If the women at your gym found you unattractive and didn't want to appreciate your face... should you be instructed to wear a big bag on your head? lol ;-) You must be a dribbling wreck at the beach lol DG

No body in their right mind would look at me at the gym.I am in daggy clothes, old t shirt and if they looked I would think they left their glasses at home, or I had some food stuck in my teeth.I dont look at the guys either, well I try not to , I do not go when its crowded with all the muscle men. Besides those dudes are to busy looking at themselves in the mirror or at each other.nothing wrong with a nice smile to anyone at the gym so long as your looking at their face and not taking in the body.I like my gym as people just get on with it, no classes no lycra clad beauties, just normal people trying to get the lard of their hips.I just zone out watching the tv with ear phones in , and if I fart well I never notice, unless I see guys running out the door screaming.

Do you know how easily baggy clothes can get caught in equipment? Not to mention how much they would flap around everywhere when you're hitting up a treadmill. Mind you there are some women that do dress up for the gym to bask in the attention - I've seen it all, false eyelashes and complete makeup, tiny boyleg shorts that barely even stretch over your cheeks and even stilettos while doing weighted squats (I do not lie).Considering I look far from my best sans make up, red-faced and puffing like an asthmatic, I have to say it is quite flattering when I catch someone checking me out discreetly. So long as they don't make crude comments or leer, I don't particularly mind.

I instruct on a casual basis and so I get 30-40 people staring at me while I jump up and down and yell at them - you kind of get over the self-consciousness after a while.

Quoting 'Mischeviouslad'Also..... Mr luv2lik I'd like to put it this way..... Quoting 'luv2likpus' I would like to ask Jessica why would she feel self conscious being red faced, sweaty and pulling a funny face, in my experience that is the sign you are having a good time Location, Location! And context..... In this context and location it means i'm NOT having a good time! Like I said, it's okay to look (not leer) but don't expect that if we're wearing tight gym pants, it's because we are asking you to.

Based on what I've seen - you can easily spot the girls who want to be looked at. (as mentioned earlier - full make up, hardly break a sweat etc)I DON'T look at them on purpose, as they expect it. It can be quite amusing.Essentially, everybody wants to look good. If guys sees a nice T-shirt that makes their chest look shapely - they buy it? Same with the girlies - chest or otherwise.Nice fitting clothes make you look good - so you feel good ;)To respond to the question - if ladies have a camel-toe, they know about it. As the gym is a public place, looking around, especially between sets is what we all do. There's a huge difference between peeking and perving though! And that's where I think it comes down to personal control/awareness ;)

I work in the fitness industry and it works both ways.....guys doing chins is hot! In my experience women wear what makes them most comfortable whether that be tight or not....and there are always women who are dressed to impress men.....But we also have some male strippers who come in oiled up lol..........I guess if women are really bothered by men perving then they mostly go to womens only gyms.............Myself........well I train with the guys so I doubt there is any perving going on :)

justsupposing - you always liked to look though i thought coffee in Parramatta Park was nice and i only admired your vehicle then :)with the gym I find myself looking at a fit, well toned man or woman motivates me more to try and achieve my goals. I didint go for the perve - but anytime I was "caught" looking I did the same and smiled. Hardest thing was to look my personal trainer in the eye when she wasnt whipping my butt so to speak.I gave up the gym .........

I am so focused on my workout I wouldn't know if guys are checking me out! But if they were I wouldn't mind at all, after all I work hard to try and get my body in good condition and if a complete stranger appreciates the way I look then great, stare all you want!!

I've always wondered about the motivations of Women going Topless , on busy beaches such as Bondi , when there is only a 2 metre gap between towels and then they get pissed off if they catch you looking at their tits. If they didn't want anyone looking at their tits , what the hell are they doing with their tits out ? The same with Gym , if you don't want people checking you out , then really , you shouldn't wear revealing clothing . Let's be honest , plenty of people know that Gym is a great place for a Perv. And what the hell is wrong with checking people out ? It's a Natural Instinct ! ( Geez, I didn't realise just how many Metaphors there were here for our RHP world... Substitute 'beach' and 'gym' for 'RHP' ) ;) GG♒- Posted from rhpmobile

Yes, I don't mind the boys having a bit of a look. I'm a bit of a star, so when I bench press my normal 2.5kg it's always a bit nice to be wowed ocassionally. - Posted from rhpmobile

pass on that one thanks, hats off to those that attend though, whatever floats your boat.Back on topic, luv2likpus - what do you expect females to wear, a hessian bag? I'd imagine you would absently stare if that was the case anyway. If your so concerned possibly you can attend when only males are present. You may have a conundrum moment then. It would be more impressive if next time your oggling the sort in question you ask her about how she felt at you staring at her camel toe, then report back.

Puts devils advocate hat on.... Ok.... Using your 2m beach analogy.... in the gym... Say you're getting changed, and using the top locker.... and while your willy waggled, mr bottom locker took the opportunity to take a good look. Would you get pissed off? ?

If your cock lifts watching me, I'm flattered, it means I'm looking good and a hell of a heck better than I used too! Seriously... The gym bunnies are just that, all fluff and no substance. They might look good but they are wasting money... Why would you want a chick who's already proves she wastes stuff... She's a princess and would more than likely be a starfish... A chick like me, you'd know I'll be fun cause I am strong, have good cardio capacity and can hold myself up in a plank position. As for camel toes... Not on my watch...

Agree with you Fit_Me... my local in North Sydney fills with the Bunnies and Posers around the class times and all the hot, actually fit, ladies vacate in disgust.Whilst some of the bunnies look awesome (Shallow Me wants to thank the person who invented Lycra!) they can't hold a candle to the awesomeness of real fitness fanatics we have... one of which I have had a mad crush on for a while (short blond with impressive thighs and shoulders ).Strangely nobody ever asks how men feel about the women perving on them (or did I miss that thread?)In the last few months I have lost >35Kg and am getting some looks from fellow gym-junkies and co-workers and sometimes it makes me feel damn weird!

I disagree JessicaRabbit I have been to an exclusive female gym and all comers welcome and in most cases woman put the tight clothes on to be seen. Sorry but I wear baggy clothes because they give me room to move and don't tell me the short shorts, skimpy tops or skirts are designed to work out with. They are there to be seen and well if you get a work out bonus but don't kid yourself. It's actually worse at the female exclusive gym cause for some reason woman need to show off to other woman. Me personally I don't care I am on a mission so wear what you want. The point of working out is to feel better about yourself if wearing skimpy clothes does it for you then go for it.

I don't know what type of gym you go to, but having the time to zone out on a chicks camel toe tells me you aren't having a go.

My gym gear is made specifically for working out, compression tights to ensure rapid blood dispersion and muscle growth, supporting my legs, plus hiding a multitude of body sins. I used to wear baggy stuff but weight training and lifting required form and you cannot see if your in the right lifting position if your t-shirt obscures your line of sight. All people like to be admired and complimented. We should learn to accept them and be flattered. I need to learn to take my own advice. I don't believe anyone when they tell me I look good.

Women do not wear $500 Lorna Jane outfits to the gym because they want to look and feel sexy and enjoy being appreciated for their efforts ... they do it because it is 'more comfortable'

In the gyms I used to ( the "used to" bit makes me weep ) train at, well, if you we're busted perving or were stupid enough to make an inappropriate comment, you'd probably end up copping a spinning back fist or an inside leg kick that might of slipped up the inner thigh a bit higher than normal... FYI.. I have looked in the eyes of not so stable men on the footy field, wild NT scrub bulls and many species of snakes... but looking into a woman's eyes who's standing across the other side of the ring for a sparring session...well.... *assumes foetal position*.....

I like guys looking at me... I work hard for body and like know guys like. In saying that, just depends on how its done. I don't even mind guys complimenting me if its done the right way and not while i'm in the middle of my workout. I actually gyms which are more social and friendly personally. I have even gone on dates with guys I met at the gym on occasion.xoxoxo

Not many people there and it was back and core day... So deadlifts was my opening weapon of choice. For perfect form your bum has to squat out. No one there to look at me so hell for leather I go, who cares who sees my arse. Next, back extensions, weighted with some obliques added in with some hooks across added in. Then the weighted pylometric work, and didn't my stomach jiggle about I that but abs are slowly peaking through. Next was glute lifts, weighted with shoulder in bench and dipping my arse down. Doing those things made me feel most uncomfortable... Because I was thrusting my pelvis up and down all over the joint, just as cute blokes started walking in. Fark!!!! My point is at some point, someone's gonna be looking at you or you're going to be self conscious about some part of something going on. Men look at women, visa versa, it's how we procreate and that's never gonna change. Look all you want to gentlemen, and he'll, even strike up a conversation with me if you think I look good. Ask me what I'm doing, treat me as an equal, treat me with respect. I'll like you for it. Hell ask me out for a drink, we might strike it off. But you'll never know unless you try... Besides... We're more than likely checking out you blokes as well. We are sneaky like that.
