The GFC has flushed out much of the nouveau riche who used to inhabit Main Beach with many of the Tedder Avenue venues falling on hard times. It's dead by 9:30pm on even the best of nights. I would suggest a little stroll or short taxi trip to the QT's Stingray Bar. Lucky they have clout with LL as what looks like a tame, consistently themed bar by day transforms to a near nightclub by weekend night. Barely standing room only. It's away from the 'central disaster zone' of Surfers too.
