To date, we would say Odd Ball, we have one of those breed of puppies & realised just recently when ordering a pizza delivery, that our dog would guard our family home to death, poor pizza guy, nearly lost his arm! Yes, our dog has all the same traits as the the dog trained in Odd Ball movie! Another movie we would say, not so new is Entourage.

don't own a tv anymore by choice, best decision I ever made, I never sit now lol but ever? I saw Pretty Woman when it was first released, with a friend in the city centre and it was incredible, the mix of humour with sexy, and Richard Gere just makes me go to jelly, things I'd like to do to him, Julia Roberts was amazing and perfect for the role. But then you can't go past the Australian gems like The Castle (the smell of 2 stroke) and Crackerjack, both are brilliant, one for being obviously corny, the other just flat out funny, Mick Molloy always makes me laugh, he's brilliant, and love Judith Lucy and Samuel Johnson, both so funny. Calling the bingo numbers, stab you in the eye with a ball point pen, that one went unnoticed but further on he got stopped lol and the cheese wheel, heads will roll, classic Australian humour, love it

really have any bests as I like a lot of movies over a wide range of subjects - The original Star Wars Trilogy, most movies with Hugh Jackman in them (bit of a fetish there ), some of the chic flicks - especially humorous ones, Lord of the Rings, Riddick ....and many more. All depends what mood I'm in which one is my current favourite.

I'm a bit of a fan of the Directing of Clint Eastwood.So...Unforgiven, Letters from Iwo Jima, Million Dollar Baby, Invictus and Gran Torino rate very highly with me. When he was a younger actor, I thought his films were largely forgettable...but later his story choices as a Director became bold and gritty. Is this the real Eastwood...with complete artistic control and direction? Probably.

Yep, Matt Damon and any of the Borne Identities, Clint Eastwood, 007's, Bruce Willis, and the Die Hards, also Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal, Jackie Chan, Star Wars. You know, the usual guy movies, also V8 super cars and Rugby, but they are not really movies are they ???? (although the Gold Coast race this avo did go for over 2hrs, which is nearly as good as a feature film)

It's a truth universally acknowledged...... I'm with Freya here. 'Pride and Prejudice.' Although I think the best version is the BBC production with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth. A very close second, (although I have moments deciding which of the two holds 1st place), is 'The Count of Monte Cristo.' In both cases, the books are the clear winner! Another favourite from a long, long time ago was 'Goodbye Mr Chips'......

... to even contemplate a best so here a few I think are well worth a watch Departures (beautiful Japanese film) * Drama easy to watch Funny Games (Preferred Hanake's German version more than his American which was released ten years later) *Thriller/Horror Not graphic but very violent and psychological Butterfly Kiss (quite different) * Romantic comedy/Drama a little twisted and violent in parts The Big Lebowski (just excellent) * Comedy Fisher King (Great cast and a bit quirky) * Romantic comedy Like Stars on Earth (Indian film with lots of heart... and no there is no dancing just one cheesy song) * Drama Oh and any Hayao Miyazaki film (so very beautiful with much feeling and emotion) * Dramas/comedies. Japanese animation Wow just too many to mention. Me, I tend to prefer foreign and art house films. Look forward to checking out some films others enjoyed.

I think there was a remake of it in the US, but not the same... And 'Jesus of Montreal' highly acclaimed, heavy drama but so typical Quebecois.

The orignal Italian Job... for the boys... Lamborghini Miura, E-types, Astons... Mini Coopers... all with a touch of Brit hoomour. Inside Out!... such a great way to illustrate emotions... for kids... and particularly to kids on the spectrum. Up... fun... and emotion... such an "uplifting" film.

Quoting 'Meander' The Martian last night, giving it a 0 for character development, an 8 for entertainment. My vanilla date took me to see it a couple of weeks ago. Second date. After a long week at work, i was tired that Friday night. I have eaten very little that day as work was busy. He took me to dinner and the food just went straight down to the bottom of my stomach and made me 'comfortable' like a boa constrictor that just swallowed a small pig. Then he wanted to take me to an old fashioned date, the movie. i said yes. So off we went.. I fell asleep part of the film. I hope I did not snore. Lol.. So boring... the date, not the movie.. No further dates thanks. On the upside, I know that i need a bag of potatoes in my handbag wherever I go, just in case. All I have to do now is learn to squirt on command.

Is that fair? Wasn't his fault the food was like a brick in your gut and you were exhausted? Or was it him that was boring company? I would not never see a movie with a guy during the first handful of dates. Never saw the appeal of sitting next to someone I'm attracted to in the dark and not being allowed to talk, let alone fuck each other. Though I did both once, also a second date. But sheesh, Master and Commander was so boring we were kind of forced to amuse ourselves a different way.

But I should have said no to the movies. I must have been so tired to think of it. but he wasnt really communicating so much and if you have met me, you will know I can be amusing company... (pats my shoulders) A drink or walk along the interesting Melbourne laneways and a few stops in the bars would have been more interesting. Anyway, it was not meant to be.

A fan of James Bond series (Sean reigns supreme, not George) - can't wait for SpectreBourne Series KickAss films - feel good funny action film. Tarantino films - early ones, quite innovative... most copied style Guillermo Del Torro - Master story teller of the dark genre Luc Besson films Clint Eastwood films - everything. a very clever man. where the pretty package belies a brilliant senstivie artist Art house films - For giving us an alternative views of life, thus make us ponder and reflect on different aspect of life, that life does not have to be mundane. Foreign films (I love foreign film fests - so big in Melb we are spoilt ) French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Italian. Most recent - Departures (Jap), life is Beautiful (Ita). Koreans and Japanese are prolific and very adept in making interesting horror film makers. More subtle than the americans in these genre.

Quoting 'Wet_Paint' Pretty much agree with Lilyorchid though I would add the Alien movies, that first Alien movie "scared" me more than any horror, monster, psycho movie ever could. I forgot to mention Aliens. The best definitely was the first one. I was too young to be allowed into the movies and had to wait for a while for the Beta to be released and watch it with my older siblings. It took almost 1 year to hit the dvd market! All the franchise films (except Promitheus) would still be very watchable as I do watch the reruns with my Kids. all the time. I love them I would classify them under the psycho-horror genre. Ridley Scott (aside from Gladiator) at his best. I love Ripley and cried when Ash, the Android, died. I wanted to be Ripley as a child - strong, capable fearless female protagonist who is sensitive and smart yet can kick ass at the same time. A fantastic role model. None of these shrieking bimbos who await for the men to save them always. Early Jack Nicholson films (except the latest craps) are great. One flew over the cuckoo's nest, The Shining, Chinatown, The departed and The Postman Always rings twice (sexy as hell) always stand out and are his redeeming films in a slew of ordinary and commercial crap he has done since, outside the list. My opinion.

Not to mention that it was filmed in Sydney during the late 60s / early 70s. It's literally like going back in time.
