Football,but I think Jonathon Thurston is an amazing person,a great role model for young people ,young indigenous people in particular...not because he is a great player but because I suspect he is a great person...but what a shame Wayne Bennett could not be gracious in defeat xxFreya

Unless I'm in the tipping comp at work and I'm at thee top of the ladder. But I was in NSW at the time and I watched the Grand Final with a friend that night. I admired the support Jonathon Thurston went straight to Ben Hunt at the end of the game and told him to hold his head up high. I believe that is true sportsmanship.

You're right on a few fronts... Thurston is a great ambasador for the indigenous youth as well as youth in general. When the Cowboys played Melbourne a few weeks back , Thurston ran to the fence at half time and handed his headgear to a young boy .. Big deal you might say , but the boy and his family were not Cowboy but Storm supporters... The boys face said it all... Wayne Bennett lost me a few years back.. Being humble is not always one of his greatest strengths..

Why do you think it belongs in NSW. We have won State of Origin 9 of 10 last years. All Qld grand Final. Lets have the Grand Final played in Qld.

Best game Ive seen ( except when my mighty dragons won in 2010 after 30+yrs( thanks to Wayne Bennett) I live in brissy but am a sydney girl, so will never go for the Bronco's ( sorry JG ) I am very glad that the Cowboys got it this yr. It was a close game and came down to who would make a mistake at the end. Poor Ben Hunt got that honour. And just my opinion, but Hunt should have got sent off for 10 for that spear tackle he did. Ifhewassin binned he wouldnt have been on the field to make his crucial fumble. Kinda like karma. But good on the cowboys, and of course JT. As Freya said, hes a great person, and also showed his integrity when he praised and gave support to Ben Hunt in an interview after the game.

What a great game drawn in the the very last second, conversion missed then golden point. Great final. Have much admiration for JT and his reaction and conversation with his wife and especially daughter during end celebrations were beautiful. Don't often see that kind of heart and sincerity in high end sport. How nice to see him pick up and console Ben Hunt after the game, that poor lad was devastated after that drop, love to see sportsmanship alive and well

Since I have seen anyone in the major sporting spotlight that qualifies as a true role model for kids, something sport has missed for so very long. Yeah Jay his gesture in Melbourne was just wonderful and how excited and thrilled was that young fella.

It was interesting to contrast the two finals. Both games appeared to be one sided 20 mins in , but apart from that it was an exciting game to watch even though we support the AFL and rarely watch NRL. The pre game entertainment was more polished , the game itself kept you watching and the fairytale of JT first fumbling, then missing the conversion and then the play leading up to the golden point FANTASTIC
