Do realize they have cameras that screen the audience and its shown on the large screen and on National TV?? So here's the thing... GF tickets are virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get hold of, even for paid up members of the competing clubs. So how are you planning on getting in? Or are you thinking of putting on a show on the concourse outside, and hoping for donated tickets in response? Or maybe you guys are the half time entertainment? The AFL has been renowned for making some poor choices around the half time show....

I have done it at the Crown Melbourne at the slot machine. No I am an Eagles fan but I got the tickets free besides it was time I caught up with friends on this side 0f OZ. I was getting bored in Perth in fact I might come out of retirement as it is not all its cracked up to be.

I do agree with you about retirement, I couldn't handle it now, enjoying work too much. But you have to look at what employment opportunities are available for someone over 50, I am sure us gentle folk here in the forums could come up with some valid suggestions. It's far too natural a medium i fear i will get carried away and smother everyone with my twisted never ceasing mind but...Have you seen the wonder that is the Universal Weather indicator? 100% Accuracy, I was introduced to it by a good mate of mine in his 60's who i worked with for years and surprisingly as a person in my industry was also very intelligent/witty/clever. It's a rock on a string you hang out in the elements. If its wet it's raining, if its moving around alot it's windy, if its dry its fine etc etc :). I believe it could help determine the climate of the specific time said rock was lobbed through window in addition to the age old proven rock,scissors,paper + compass method which i hear is how the America's where actually discovered without falling off the edge of the world :D

If you'd rather not divulge on a public forum i understand so feel free to PM me with a response if you can or politely decline to respond as your more than able to do :). I'm just curious is all as i ponder what i would do if faced with the possibility of retirement even though it's very unlikely it will be anytime soon and as much as having all the time in the world to do whatever i want seem's appealing, the working wiser sensible person in me argues that it would be boring and unfulfilling and i would be better off finding some form of work i personally enjoyed to spend atleast 30 hrs a week on, perhaps my own computer business. First name starting with P and then Coops it could be called PC's PC's (what do ya's think? haha). Building/fixing/operating them comes naturally and i've been doing it since i was six in the days of 386's and DOS so it wouldn't be a chore but would be an outlet.Coops27Seeking knowledge/wisdom under every rock :)

However i'll give ya the benefit of the doubt here a little and allow the possibility that it could be innocent ignorance fueled by misinterpretation. Though i don't feel bad as i lashed at you in a forum of your's month's ago then apologised waving the olive branch of peace immediately after and suggested we get together face to face sometime so i could see the real chevtrek who around all the bad media potentially is a good sort and with you being retired and 7 km's away as the crow flows no difficult nor would either of us lose out in anyway for meeting and conversing but i was met with no response which makes me reinforce the negative views of others somewhat that your not the open minded, popular, easy going, worldly, friends of all ages, guru you portray. I would prefer this because the way you portray yourself a lot seem's to allow me to revert more to the mentality i had in primary school where i could be a very cruel/arrogant/cheeky/nasty/rude little fooker and i prefer not to behave like that anymore :(

I just wear civies now, and don't have to call anyone Sir! I am Contractor working under a sub contract for one of the USA major Defence companies and loving the work. Retirement scares the shit out of me, simply because I know I would be bored shitless after a couple of weeks. Being part of the military means I have a developed structure, and the thought of not knowing what I will be doing next week is kind of scary. I know when I do retire, I will have to develop some routines in my life to survive. Whether it be playing golf three days a week or writing a novel, I will have to have something in my life that I know I have to do. Hope that makes sense. Of course there will be travel, it will be nice to visit some countries in a non-official role and be able to just wander around and enjoy the sights. Mooka
