Happy Days

February 22 2015

Well I'm not sure how well this topic will go but hey it's worth a try. On Friday night I picked up a new boat (well new to us) and when I backed into the driveway my 15 yo son came bounding out of the house happy as, that we had finally gotten a boat. After he and wifey went inside I walked around the boat, caressing her hull, smiling and had a great sense of happiness. It brought back memories of my dad and I with his boat.... Sooooooo, I'd like to hear a happy story from you. Tell me about a happy moment today, this week, this month or whenever.....

Aside from meeting Mrs Luv and having our children one of my best times was a few years ago .Ihad the opportunity to visit a very far away exotic group of islands that is my fathers birthplace. It is the one place I have always wanted to go to overseas.I was able to see where their family property had been and even the old stone Catholic church that they had to attend DAILY when they were young. The first time I set foot on the golden sands and swam in the bath warm ocean I truly felt like a part of me belonged there. When you get it home, and its twilight and your brushing it, while it eats. Then you just rest your head into the neck of the horse and shut your eyes. Other times is when my kids are asleep. No matter what age, I kiss them on the for head and tuck them into bed. when they were little i would sing to them, they still fall asleep if I sing even today. My girls always get into my dressing gown when they come home. They snuggle in and say it the smell and being wrapped up in it makes them feel happy.

You made me miss my ponies. As much as I love where I live, I often think back to my time in stations and living on the back of a horse. My last happy time time was Friday night, catching up with me friends at the local pub and having a good old belly laugh. Fortunately, I can have that most anytime, in fact I might head down for the Sunday session for another dose.

My son and I went into the city yesterday and had lunch together. Went to CNR, a lovely wholefood place, and had a nice chat about everything. Came out, he gave me a big cuddle and said "Thanks, love you Mum" Who needs to be rich? Im also happy anytime Im with my friends, male or female, just thinking about them makes me smile.

My 16yr old son has just bought the car of his dreams, all for $5000. We went for a drive today & had lunch at a country pub. The joy on his face as he drives his dream brings back memories of me when I got my first car. It was a lovely time we had. As for the joy of friends, my best mates son rang me the other day to say he had tickets to the Liverpool vs Roar game. He had queued for 3 hours to be 3rd in line. He is 17. Makes like that bit sweeter.

A woman I know told her kids that hugs are not allowed after the age of five I will hug my son til the day I leave this mortal coil Wow kook what a sour pus she is. But to be honest my middle son loved to have kisses and cuddles with me before he went to sleep. Wifey would say that it was a delaying tactic. True but I didn't care I loved it and relished every one as I knew one day it would be un-cool to ask dad for a kiss and cuddle.....

Fortunately, I can have that most anytime, in fact I might head down for the Sunday session for another dose. At one of my first jobs was out on a station. Middle of the NT and a 300 klm drive on dirt roads to town. Loved every minute of it, including dodging the frisky hands of the cowboys. I was the only girl. I learnt to run fast and also how to find the widest tree to hide behind to take a pee and also to always tie up your pony before you take that pee as its a long walk back to camp.

like I'm sure we all do 10 days before Xmas a very beautiful person in my life passed away after a short battle with AML, it was a little unexpected as he had had a bone marrow transplant so we all thought he was good to go The funeral sadly was on Xmas Eve due to timing. Because of his death I mentally boycotted Xmas and made no effort whatsoever. I was so full of anger and sadness I came home from the funeral/wake completely drained emotionally and physically, to find that my darling best friend had visited during the day and had bought and assembled the unusual Xmas tree I had been eyeing off for weeks. In the fridge was a prepared meal and a bottle of wine. I cried, I cried hard. To know I am loved and cared by someone so much totally got me. I felt happy and sad at the same time but it was a good happy/sad

Ohh.... Fun, Peach .. I can still smell the horse sweat on the saddlery, the dust and scents when mustering, sounds of the horses hooves labouring breathing going up hills how the sounds come back to you in the early morning fog... the crazy bareback races we had on the steep hills as kids in NZ... More recently the deepest feelings seeing my son marrying his beautiful bride and how wide his grin is still...he gives the best hugs too .. towers over me .. So proud of him. - Posted from rhpmobile

Sitting by the river yesterday watching the ferries dance back and forth, with a beer in hand, while the kids played in the pool. Seeing a great new movie on Friday night in the VIP seats - Kingsman - it's seriously entertaining. My partner had to hide behind her hands in many parts which added to the fun ;) Lunch with the extended family on Saturday, a local affair in their village. I couldn't eat the frogs, and the beer was served warm on ice in a plastic cup, but couldn't fault the atmosphere or company. The best times are always with friends and family. Back onto the travel treadmill in a few days which will take me away from them all for a few weeks. Will no doubt meet more interesting people along the way though.

I started a proper full time job in something I've wanted to get into for 10yrs, Sat nite I went to the Cricket Club to celibrate, turned out it was "Ladies Day" to raise money for Breast Cancer, caught up with a lot of old friends, what a party, meet a nice chick that I think likes me as well. Had a call from my 19yr old Boy, he's so happy for me that things are now looking "bright" for the future. He's going to Winton Raceway at Easter with a gang of friends for the "skids" (street car stuff) & asked me to come up & spend some time with him & his mate's. We txt, I hug him every time I see him, I'm so proud of his achievements & the fact that he want's his 52yr old Dad to come away for the W/end. I always loved my Ex, family etc, but my Son & his Dog that he had for 14yrs taught me the true meaning of love & loyalty. The moment my Son was born, I felt an uncontrollable urge to protect him for the rest of my days. Cheers P.L.

He keeps joking he organised Slash to play for us The whole weekend was awesome, we don't get to many music festivals anymore, music is a huge part of our life and getting to see some of our favourite musicians and discovering new ones is always great. It was stinking hot, exhausting, but sooooo much fun! Seeing Slash and Myles Kennedy, now that was something, we got the barrier (something we've always managed to do) we danced, sung, shouted, got synchronized head banging going (we been doing this a long time) a bit of groping and both came out with a pic. I have a photo taken of me just afterwards and you can see the joy and love in my sweaty face looking up at hubby.

Friday night saw me in the company of two special people who are fast becoming great friends. Yesterday I got to spend time with some of my beautiful family - it was the first time since Christmas we have found space in our diaries to do so. Today I am off to have lunch with a girlfriend who is slowly climbing out of the deep black hole she found herself in when her partner walked out on her. The fact she suggested lunch speaks volumes about her progress back to happiness. Simply sharing time together, sharing laughter, sharing journeys..... that is what life is all about.

It could be a shell at the beach, or a swallow in a bus stop, or the sun glinting in the snow like little diamonds or taking a breath on a cold crisp sunny day like it is today...... These are all pearls that life delivers, we just need to be open to find them... Look for the pearls is my moto

And it was delightful! . We gave some children's clothes to a friend a month or so ago. Hubby commented in the last few days or so that we could do with some children's clothes, and tada, last night, someone posted in one of the groups that they had clothes in just the size we were looking for. We picked them up today! Some of the clothes and shoes still have tags on them... and they go for the same team we do!!! LOL. Love it. Thank you to the people who don't just throw out useful clothes because you don't need them anymore.

Took my second son (not quite 14) to a school ceremony to commemorate the journey from boyhood to manhood... He had to do a speech in front of hundreds of people which of course brought me to tears with pride. Afterwards I asked him where he would like me to take him to dinner to celebrate, but was told firmly that I had to choose where we went as HE was taking me out to dinner.... His shout...he proceeded to tell me that he had been saving all his money so that he could do this.....Needless to say it was the best dinner date I've ever been on 😁

When my beautiful daughter was sweet 16 she wrote me a letter (that was almost 10 years ago) to tell me she was bi, (she later realised she was gay) it didn't and hasn't make any difference because who I see and know is just simply my daughter whom I have loved since she came into my life and have always been there to support her. My son is also gay he has never come out never needed to, same as my daughter it hasn't made any difference as to who I see and know and how much I love him and I will also always be there if he needs my support....can't believe how fast it's gone since they were first wrapped up snug as bugs in their bunny rugs..... Apart from myself and their dad they both have great friends who have never treated them any differently. Cheers Rubi :)

I am really appreciating being me more than I ever have in my whole life. The encouragement to be me in comparison to the, be who/how I think you should be, is refreshing. Freeing. The world has never seemed so possible. Hehehe, to think, I shall soon be putting on a performance. Wow, just wow. I am more than I ever imagined I could be and that belief has to be the greatest power on Earth.
