Heartfelt tribute

December 17 2014

Seeing the mass of foral tributes for those taken from us in the Sydney seige is heart warming. No surprise really, just Australian's being Australian. Im not about to be political, not the time nor place, but I must take my hat off to store manager Tori Johnson for doing the only thing he could before paying the ultimate price. Further ' I sadly witnessed Natalie Barr's emotions break down on live television because of her connection to barrister Katrina Dawson who also tragically lost her life. I know Im not saying anything that most would not already know. But watching my fellow Aussies respond the way they have shows me we still have our head and heart in the right place.. abeit sad circumstances..

My heart and condolences goes out to the familes of the victims an for all those involved. I'm so grateful I could have been 1 of those members as my Dad delivered (coke run to all the cafes and bars around the cbd) to that actual cafe 15mins before hostage took place.

I think Tori Johnson made a grave mistake, heroic but a mistake. Easy call to make with 20/20 hindsight but he should have done nothing and let the cops play it out. So sad.

It doesn't matter to Tori or Katrina who should or shouldn't have done what. They both paid the ultimate price for something that shouldn't have happened in the first place. Great post Jay. Thank you. May they RIP.

a couple of sad moments in Ozz , and each incident is very sad. in this case, I like we don't hate anybody and don't preach hate, this would only give this idiots fuel. I think how we behave now towards Muslim people will be a right smack in the extremist faces. I am proud to call myself an Aussie

It was terrible to watch the siege unfolding. I have high praise for the all the police, negotiators and others involved in dealing with the situation and was proud to see how the community came together to support each other. Loving thoughts to our innocent fellow Aussies who will not see another Christmas and to the survivors and their families who will be dealing with the fallout. It was a chilling reminder of what many people are faced with around the world on a daily basis by way of acts of terrorism, acts associated with mental illness or plain criminal activity. My thoughts are also with those families of the 130+ school children murdered by the Taliban in Pakistan on the same day as the Sydney siege ended. Thank goodness there are many more good people in the world than bad. Love and Peace to everyone. LG

I just heard Tori Johnson was executed by this friggin low life. Meaning police fire dropped both the low life and unfortunately Katrina Dawson.. Not the best result for Katrina's and Tori's family but it could have been a lot worse in terms of numbers.... RIP...

Today my work took me directly across the road from Lindt building and Martin Place.. Although there were plenty of people the mood there was naturally quite sombre with most people just stareing at the floral tributes and the building with a look of disbelief.. I felt a little guilty I had no flowers to offer. I watched a mother and 2 little girls place their flowers amoung the thousands of others.. The look on the little girls faces said it all..
