Highlights of your Life

April 21 2014

I was thinking this morning about when I abseiled out of a helicopter, not sure why I was thinking it but it has to be one of the best things I have done in my life. I used to be an SES volunteer and it was part of a demonstration for an Open Day that we had. I was only 16-17 at the time and I was jumping out of my skin to do it. There was only one of us being selected at the briefing to do it and I think they knew they would break my little heart if they didn't let me do it, lol. I actually had a lot of fun in the SES, some of the best fun ever. I got a man and had kids and let all that slide but I am thinking I should go parachuting soon because my life has become so boring now. I don't have anyone special to do anything with and I am just letting life just slide on by. What are some of your life 'best bits' ?

Apart from my wedding day and the births of my kids? Oh, wait... One of my best times was when I decided to go backpacking through Australia. I arrived in December 1998 and stayed for 6 months. I eventually moved here permanently exactly 5 years after I first set foot in Sydney.

Yep,number one are my kids....amazing people that I love to death ....number two is having an ex wife who I get along with,as in we are actually good mates...go figure! Number three great health again, busted shoulder, fractured ribs, vertebrae ,and punctured lung ,all healed and I'm stronger than before...feels friggin great ! Number four is a great career that I worked hard for...I recently had my history referred to as "baggage" ...I look at then as achievements that I'm proud of.

I made a short film (1st year) with my class buddy's and we received an award for it or did we come first or both? (that was fun), My grandfather was this amazing artist and when we were little he would let us contribute to some of his drawings that sold for 1000s (special childhood memories), giving birth to my last child with drugs (I still shake my head as to why I never did this with the others, havin an epi was AMAZING lol), the few NYE celebrations I experienced as a teen (off the chain madness!), I confronted my abuser (not tryin to get sympathy votes here just stating this because it was a significant moment, it was quite empowering for me, it completely changed me, it replaced my victim mentality) & of course meeting Mr_AJ when I was 17yrs (he rocks my fucking world) ...... Quoting 'Meander' I eventually moved here permanently exactly 5 years after I first set foot in Sydney. Sydney is far better off for it.

...my wedding day to Jennylee was very special. No frills, just us, our family and friends in MacArthur Park in Camden. A gorgeous day, a brief civil ceremony, a picnic buffet then the two of us on the back of a Yamaha and the start of a new life. Only cost a couple of grand but was stress free and joyous. I also clearly remember the birth of each of my children vividly.Other memories of note were a blissful weekend spent aboard a Halvorsen Cruiser on the Hawkesbury, flying a Cessna solo as a teenager along the light aircraft lanes following the coast by Newcastle and swimming in a remote, crystal clear water hole in the National Park, south-east of Heathcote.

Big poker tournaments with pretty good payouts. Put me in an elite group of highly paid female players. Also won a trip to Vegas. That was a blast.

My children. .. First an foremost of course. Separating after 18yrs of hell, yes people it happens that way for some of us. Discovering that I'm good without a man in my life. Since separating, I've done many things I call my best bits :P Na seriously though, white water rafting, sky diving, holiday's without kids, new friendships, finding old friends, new tattoo's and finding rhp. :)

Sitting on the roof of a boat in Thailand sharing life stories with a complete stranger, amazing weather and food that day. A fuck buddy took care of me for a night once and was the only time it's ever happened, she waxed and bought new lingerie just for me ;), made me feel amazing. Learning to dance
