Yes I have done both. Fwb: it was fine and exciting to get back together after about a 10month hiatus. It was only ever fwb arrangement anyway. Actually more the benifits not the friendship. Sort of like putting on an old glove. It fitted perfectly. Past boyfriend: started seeing each other again after being apart for 3 years. It wasn't good and lasted about 2 months. Everything that drove us apart in the first place resurfaced. We were both in our 20ies and still had growning up to do. May be different experience now that we have both matured, have more life experience etc. - Posted from rhpmobile

but I seem to have spells where a lot of my past comes back all at once trying to contact me, it is bizarre! Don't hear from them for ages then... bang, they all want you. I think if they really wanted you, they would have hung around in the first place. I am only referring to guys online though, I only ever had one significant relationship and if he came back, he would have the door slammed in his face.

I've done it a few times. There's a certain comfortable familarity about it (intimacy wise) and a certain familarity of how it can fall apart... again.

A man who I had been seeing infrequently over three years contacted me after about six months of not seeing each other...at first I agreed to meet up again ,but then I realised that I just didn't feel the same way about him anymore xQ

With the FWB experience........it was a great lesson learned and strong experience gained in life is all I can say! Glad that I have learned it the hard way! :-) As for ex boyfriends/husband: NEVER! Not even once! No way that I would be that stupid! Lol - Posted from rhpmobile

Curiosity has the better of me. I'm having dinner tomorrow night with my ex FWB.

Hope all go well for you tomorrow night :-) I guess it depends on how the FWB relationship ended in the first place. If it was finished on a neutrally agreed and respectful basis, then it might be doable again the second time round. But if it was ended out of the blue because one party suddenly went cold, silent, and disappeared without a trace, not even a word of respect to let you know what's going on and that it's done and over, then I would no way go back to the same FWB again! Where's my respect?! :-) - Posted from rhpmobile

It would depend on the reason/ reasons it stopped.

I'm assuming your terms of reference are pertaining to sex. A "catch up" can be anything you want it to be. But.... The choice to meet is yours and yours alone. :) - Posted from rhpmobile

Yes, the choice is mine. My question, however, was "have YOU ever gone back again?" Do you have any experiences to share?

a FWB is a FWB... The minute you try and make it more than that is when the wheels fall off.. Nothing better than having a friend to catch up with for a cup of tea, chat' and naughty to boot ? win win for both ' why spoil it ? anname11.. I agree, life experiences and maturity certainly help is theres something still there..

Quoting 'Jay_Me' a FWB is a FWB... The minute you try and make it more than that is when the wheels fall off.. Nothing better than having a friend to catch up with for a cup of tea, chat' and naughty to boot ? win win for both ' why spoil it ? Yeah, I agree, but who are you addressing this to? Who said anything about turning an FWB into anything more?

Agreed - I too think if they really wanted you, they would have hung around in the first place. If people don't keep in touch I move on quite quickly.I don't do ex's at all.

My ex-fwb/sort of boyfriend came back into my life a few months ago and because I had just broken it off with someone else and was quite vulnerable I sort of agreed to go out a few times. I love him to death but the reasons we broke up (and it was a very civilised break up) remain the same... Though he would deny that. my feelings from when we broke up also remain so it didn't take much or long for me to start feeling as I did then. I agree that it is like slipping on an old glove, so comfortable and warm.

I had a "blast from the past" turn up in my life recently. We ended up having Dinner together last week to discuss a mutual Business transaction. It was a little stilted to start with, but business was the focus. That said, business eventually gave way to "us & then". We talked about the changes in our lives over the last two years, got kicked out of the restaurant, had coffee which became cuddling and canoodling. We're going to see each other again. Who knows what will or won't happen. But at least we said goodnight as friends. Separately, I got a text yesterday from my son that I haven't heard from in 8 months saying "Can we get together for a chat?" Clearly it must be the season for rekindling !

No one in particular. Just reading into some of the posts where ex FWB comes back for more then bugga off for the same reason, that's where.. The best part of a FWB is the simple nature of it all...

Ex's are ex's for a reason. If it's just to catch up with a FWB, why not? Enjoy!

Once upon a time little Amicus made the mistake of going back to an Ex... as a young lad in his twenties he wasn't wise to the consequences of his actions but was smart enough to learn from the experience. FB/FWB? Sure, I'd go back... especially if we are still friends.Ex Girlfriend? May give it a second chance depending on why we separated.Ex Wife? Not going to happen I'm afraid. Though it is worth note that now days I'd be less likely to let someone go that I would have back in my twenties... SG
