If you have a pudgy belly, can you really call yourself athletic?

Sumo wrestlers are athletes too! There's lots of rugby league players with pudgy bodys to go with their tree trunk legs and necks. Then there's the stick figure ultra-marathon runners, they probably consider themselves athletes. All the descriptions are very subjective. Ive just noticed I've used athletic myself. It was probably because I'm not slim and hate being average at anything.I'm very fit and reasonably toned, but do carry a little puppy fat in the middle. I promise there's some nice abs under there though!Mr C

Do come in all shapes and sizes as has already been noted by Chickcara, having said that, I would associate "Athletic" as a body description as meaning flat stomached ... not six packed necessarily as that's largely genetic. I used to be "Athletic" but built a little more for comfort than speed these days, but I'm my own worst critic too. I've had my top off in front of some ladies and they've gone wow .... I know other woman who have said 'you need to hit the gym' and they had a serious look on their face too. So all up, it is subjective :)

Some people have such fantastic personalities, that others may compete to be felt for, in the way others do. A beautiful mind could be described as being in Peak physical condition. I imagine it is the way we look at people,or better, what we like to see in them. This is a good question love, I think we shall find that it is quite a thoughtful one indeed!Mado

Athletic can be quite a few shapes and sizes. There is a difference between being muscly and pudgy for me though. I'm a size 12 with a belly, and therefore consider myself of average body shape. And 50zkool, are you saying unhealthily overweight women are calling themselves average? The Australian average for women is a size 14 (and climbing). Without putting anyone down, going by this statistic I think that women a size 16 and up are not an average size.

Women, even if they are pretty fit, will still have a bit of a belly. Its natural

In my eyes having seen you in the flesh (albeit clothed) you're far from average - they need a curvaceous or hour glass option me thinks...

This has been suggested before (for the site I mean). Problem is that most women would probably choose curvaceous over most other options, whether a size 12 or a size 22.

I know some people who are quite fit but don't have that clearly toned look so it can be unfair On the other side curvatious seems to have many interpretations That is the problem with this site it is online shopping - Posted from rhpmobile

Its a very silly thing I put in there as pictures should tell the short athletic or not. It's like putting are you attractive or not? what a stupid thing, See my picture is the only correct answer.Either way its a visual game so play to your strengths.

You are who you are.💎 Will ppl be completely honest with their body type or put down what seems most attractive? 🌼

Flat stomach, exactly. I think there's a difference between being an athlete (eg sumo wrestler) and having an athletic physique. Right?

I with you on this one. I will add though, it's rather difficult to define the grey areas. I personally see myself as an average body type, but others might say that I'm more closer to "a little extra padding". Where do the lines separate the different categories that can be easily related to by all?? It'd be nice to have a shoe size scale so that everybody can identify for the purposes of being accurate. However, I think that this I feel would have its issues as well. Perhaps some ideas from others might help ??- Posted from rhpmobile

Athletic = toned, muscle definition. Average = not toned but not overweight for your height/shape. Just be honest people...photos can be manipulated by positioning and lighting but you can't hide things in person.

Quoting 'Aussie_beef'Athletic = toned, muscle definition. Average = not toned but not overweight for your height/shape. My profile says "I'm shapely rather than in shape, and Im not expecting you to be an athlete either". Nothing wrong with not being toned. And my belly makes a lovely pillow for a head worn out from giving all that oral.

Best description of average I've ever read. I'd never thought of it that way but it makes perfect sense. Thanks :)

Athletic....agree.I would call your definition of average.....healthy.Unfortunately average now is tending more towards overweight.
