In another thread on wanking some women have mentioned that their partner doesn't need to masturbate as they have a hot sex life, or that they are always willing. In my opinion wanking is a normal part of life even if we were both having sex every day, either mutual masturbation or solo self loving and has nothing to do with how good a sex life you have. I don't understand that comment about "doesn't need to" do they see it as a detraction from their sex together? I'm assuming that you can't be together 24/7, so how can you be sure he doesn't need to? I've met many women who don't even know if their partner masturbates, would you rather he hid it from you? How often is OK with you? Under what circumstances? How often do you wank? Does how much sex you are having affect how often? Personally i love to watch a man masturbate, it's such a turn on to me. I find that the more I have sex, the more I need to masturbate. If there's been a bit of a slow patch in the sex life (it happens, you get busy, tired etc) I pretty much just don't get in the mood enough to. I don't see any reason why me or my partner shouldn't engage in a bit of self-lovin from time to time. It's healthy.

We have a full and healthy sex life; masturbation is part and parcel of that in all its forms. If one of us has the urge and it's not in sync with the other, we are happy for masturbation to happen. I got into a massive argument with an ex about this and she took it personally. My opinion is their is no substitute for masturbation. Sometimes you just want to ease a bit of tension quickly without having your partner guess what gets you off.
