Institution warnings

February 05 2019

I have noticed a number of ladies put a seemingly standard warning for any institutions wanting to use their information to keep their beady hands off. What gives? - Posted from rhpmobile

Lots of men's and couple's profiles have them as well. It's just another one of those silly viral things which started off because of false rumours and unfounded fears. The warnings themselves are useless and hold no legal weight whatsoever.

Add it to the annoying facebook posts about opting out of some privacy issue or other. Both equally as ineffective

Yeah those warnings are both hilarious and lame AF. Not just females..... couples and males post it too...... always gets an eye roll from me lol

Here’s the irony about the intellectually challenged beings that use those warnings.... 1. If they(these researchers) have their profile set so that no one knows they’ve visited, how would they even know WHO was from Sydney uni etc?? 2. Further to point one, how the hell do they think they’re going to know if their info has been sampled?? 3. Even if, said profiles were visiting, unless the profile was called “Sydney University” or similar, are they really going to be able to tell that it was in fact Sydney University that used their profile? And not Mohammed the African prince who’s been trying to give away millions via email and he’s just called, to say, where are you ?? But... The best thing about them.... It eliminates me needing to screen them with conversation, as it’s the trash taking itself out 😉

Now now Antichrist. No need to be toooo critical. I agree with what people are saying. Its seems naive to think that blurb is going have any effect. So why bother. Does tend to let me chuckle under my breath. But i guess somewhere deep down i think what if. But then i remember. On this site I am just a couple of photos and some glib comments. Knock yourself out

Lol just thought I’d share this... I’ve had a few views on my profile since posting my contribution lol So...not wanting to assume anything I decided to just check one of them, lol sure enough there’s that warning....so instantly I had to put my notepad down and call the Dean....he instructed me not to use that profile for my research....said something about a class action... But I’m not so sure it was a legal reference lol

Fond of the odd copy and paste warnings telling others to "GOGGLE their usernames and see what happens!". Still not quite sure what goggling is, and without adding the "RHP" to Solitary, entering my username into Google certainly doesn't lead anyone here (nor does buff44 for that matter, I tried). As for Sydney Uni, I'd love for their ethics committee to come prod and poke me.

You would be immortalised in academic journals Solitary... I'd cite you 😉

Solitary if you would like to get together we could try googling together? Unfortunately i believe we arent close enough. I suspect googling requires a certain amount of physicality that distance just doesn't permit

I don’t see the point of putting those disclaimers up. Hardly anyone looks at my profile anyway so the odds of them using anything is very slim 😂
