To watch a current affair . It's a shit show but full of people that get sucked in and ripped off. I was saying just this same thing to my boyfriend in Nairobi. I'm paying for his expenses and air fare to come see me. Such a genuine guy. I'm in love. I'm so lucky....

I have a member of my family that found her husband on a general dating site. He lived in Canada but moved over here temporarily to see if they fit, which they did. She has been married to him for over a decade, lives in Canada with him, they have had a child. This is absolutely the only positive story I have to tell about internet dating however. The internet is an absolute gore-fest of the opposite, sadly. But, as they say, bad news sells.

It's his choice. If he's happy, leave him be. I'm sure he's aware of internet scams and catfishes etc. Give him the freedom to find out for himself. Just be there and be a friend, when he asks. The more you are anti his choice, the more its going to upset him and push him away. Right now he's in love. Ms Foxy

Firstly if they truly have feelings get the real life issues out the way, such as if either have a criminal record then forget it unless they both are willing to move to a foreign country (if they can even). I'd be looking at criminal records and what finances each has. Love does not conquer all. Then there is always good Ole cyber sex - Posted from rhpmobile

He's "developing feelings" not in love. Huge difference. He's not in love yet. 🙈 My answer still stands. Ms Foxy

Feelings based from a few words or photos is a delusion. He'll learn himself. - Posted from rhpmobile

You talk on the phone or video chat, then you know they're a real person and not a catfisher at least. I know many couples who met online and are now married. I also know a few guys that sent money for their love to fly over here, but she mysteriously never arrived yet the money was gone... Scammers are accross all aspects of life not just relationships. I don't think it's necessary to write off all online overseas relationships when conventional local relationships are just as risky. - Posted from rhpmobile

Hi. Regardless of who they say they are male or woman most are not true most are men acting as women and have translators close by to adjust their words and meaning,s I catch so many out and then have them removed from our forums , and even if you see them can you really trust them ….99% no they are paid to be scammers and that's their job, even if you meet them face to face don't trust them so don't get hooked don't let your guard down for a moment they are cunning ……...as shit house rats,,,,,,,, and that's the best way to say it,or describe them, BE aware sounds good it wont be. we have many 10,s of 1000,s on our German forum all scammers , so my heading is...….. Scammers delight is is all they are,,,,,,, don't get sucked in. no matter what they say. ...noeleena...

Quoting 'Meander' Have they spoken on Skype/Facetime/etc? If not, she/he can be any old scammer. And even then... There's this show on Foxtel called 90-Day Fiancee, where people from different continents meet online, then travel overseas to met the "Love of their lives"...Only to find that out 99% of the time they barely know a thing about them, and everything turns to shit (great TV though). Fairy-tale endings can happen. But the odds are not in your friends favour. Had a happy fairy tale ending She started corresponding with a guy here in Australia from our country although they did not meet through a dating site but through a online forum. She contacted him, about a forum post he wrote, he responded , then it started and then he came to visit her at our home Its been 8 years , they are now married with a child and they spend their time between two countries and appear to be very happy So only regret what you haven't done

Haa yes! My boss (who is gay) met and now married someone from Asia. Contact was made via Grinder. Another lady at work got herself an Egyptian husband through an international agency. They are all happy. Good on them I say. Sometimes one has to search past their castle. Ms Foxy

She's a smart and attractive woman who also found a husband on the interwebs. They make a great couple and seem to be happy after more than five years of married life.

Hi All. Thanks for you all. I can let you know that they have both spoken and the feelings from him about her have not changed.. He believes from what she has said that she also has feelings from him. There will be no money given to her, I’ll definitely make sure of that. There is talk of them meeting up. No mention of where but both parties cannot wait for a meet to happen. Just to let you know, she is in the U.S. - Posted from rhpmobile
