Just to clarify;

May 31 2015

So many profiles say they are 'looking for someone who looks after themselves' Just like looking for 'attractive ' people, this is entirely subjective . I always assume they are after fellow gym junkies but could I have been misinterpreting all along and they really want ; * someone no longer living with their parents * someone who washes * someone who occasionally ventures out sans tracky dacks Or was I right all along ...? Discuss ;)

    Depends on the rest of the profile, and how they describe themselves. I don't go to the gym and am in terrible shape, but I do take really good care of my skin, teeth, hair, nails, etc. So yes, I think I look after myself. No one else does.

    This is gonna be put very bluntly .... they're issuing their "wish list"...and the list includes...in terms they're being PC when they really mean "no overweight people". But given the opportunity to get some... versus get none..... It seems most are prepared to ditch the list and take whatever is offered. But profiles regularly use lines like "not seeking a relationship but open to the possibility of more" and "not here to waste your time or mine"..... ... which is simply a way of trying to defuse the rejection process.... Told you it was gonna be blunt.

    I tend to think in the vein as Meander. If I were to use that on my profile it would just mean presentable not neat but not sloppy or dirty

    ...I think some women use it as a euphemism for "No fat guys" too. When I see it used in a profile I prefer to read it in a non prejudiced context, when it's not obvious...and when I "Look after myself", my love handles and whether I REALLY need this beer or that danish pastry, is not paramount in my mind. It's not a term I would use...I rather expect it to be taken for granted...but to me it should mean maintaining a presentable appearance. That simple.

    You know some people are slobs and turn up all stinky and dirty. To me it's the same. Someone that looks after themselves doesn't mean gym junkie necessarily but someone that hasn't totally let themselves go and make an effort. Something like that anyway.

    If you feel someone may be judgmental in their preferences then don't go there! I wish everyone on here would love their beautiful bodies in whatever form they come, and not be at all offended by those who may not be so 'aware' of this beauty. It's a great way to screen those people who maybe wouldn't be as sensual in the bedroom ;) - Posted from rhpmobile

    No point in a list. too much coffee eee....eee... so will try and keep it simple. Must look after one's self is just a euphemism for, must meet my standards. The morality is where the benefit is directed. Look after ones self, to me means don't be a lying scum bag, which I assure you has a most questionable morality, as the benefit is mine alone and offers not hope of respect for the scum bag. Why? To be happy? I would hope that looking after one's self would mean some respect, as that is something important and must always start first inside with one's self, a clean home, a clean mind, a clean street, a clean community, self respect. Looking after one's self is like buying one's self something special, lavishing one's self with unbounded attention. Continued and ongoing self praise. Putting one's self above the needs of others. Being kind to ones self. Pamper one's self. Never lying to one's self. Most will see that as a selfish perverted inversion of self flagellation, I say try it and find out it's not easy, it's rather uncomfortable, and must involve uncompromising honesty and thus in supreme irony is self bloody flagellation. In reality if you can master looking after one's self it's a diddle then to do unto one's peers, even the lying scum bags (yes you may not think it but they are equally your peers, we all are). Of course this only works if one is ironically not selfish which for some reason is not a trait of many that demand you look after your self, for as questionable established is actually a request to be looked after. Not to worry if you made it this far and don't understand as i am still unsure which end of the hound does the wagging. All that matters is in the end is a happy dog not who looks after it. The question for full points is.The dog is a metaphor for.A: MeB: The lying Scum bag.C: Both A and B.D: A and B are one and the same.E: All of the above.

    Its funny how so many people are "broad/open minded"...... and will "push your boundaries". Oh really? How are you so sure my boundaries don't extend well beyond your horizons?!!! Insert big hat wearing emoticon here
