Looking for a place to stay with my playfriend for a couple of hours

I might need some help: I am going to catch up in Sydney with a playfriend tomorrow (Thursday, 16 November), but all affordable hotels seem to be booked out. Does anyone know a cheap place where we could staying the CBD area for a few hours in the late afternoon? Thanks!

I have never used this link so cannot vouch for it. It allows you to book a hotel by an hour or two. Some of the hotels are the bigger chains and rates can be 25% the full rate. And Yes Sydney hotel prices atm are crazy https://au.dayuse.com

Does it have to be in the CBD itself? You could look at Newtown, Coogee/randwick/Zetland as options just outside the CBD itself There’s options from decent hotel rooms to even those ibis budget hotels if you literally just need a private room with bed/bathroom and nothing fancy.
