MB Personality Types

January 14 2015

Recent forum posts had people posting about their personality type. This got me interested and I did one of the online tests (just google "mb personality test" to find one). My type was ENFP which after reading the details pretty much described me. Now the one thing that got me was the recommended personality type for a relationship for me was an INTJ or INFJ. Basically the rarest type of personality occurring in less than 1% of ladies. So having met an ISTJ and realising a close but not complete connection, I'm looking for ladies to advertise their personality types. And guys jump in. Would be interesting to also see if any defined matches did go as well as the profiling is expected. So do the test, post your results and have fun with your compatible types :)

It says... I would love to say its the biggest load of crap around but for a short test it was reasonable accurate. "ENTJs are natural-born leaders. People with this personality type embody the gifts of charisma and confidence, and project authority in a way that draws crowds together behind a common goal. But unlike their Feeling (F) counterpart, ENTJs are characterized by an often ruthless level of rationality, using their drive, determination and sharp minds to achieve whatever end they've set for themselves. Perhaps it is best that they make up only three percent of the population, lest they overwhelm the more timid and sensitive personality types that make up much of the rest of the world - but we have ENTJs to thank for many of the businesses and institutions we take for granted every day. ENTJs generally get along great with: ENFP, INFP, ENTJ and INTJ personalities, but they will be interested in any relationship that offers growth and learning experiences. They will highly value and defend their relationships, especially those relationships which present them with new challenges and stimulate their learning"

I was tested as part of my employment. One of my colleagues was a real MB fanatic with no room for lee-way She used my 'personality' type to make me feel smaller than a bug... her theory was that INTJ's are odd balls who don't fit in, and she never lost an opportunity to rub my face in it and make me feel worthless. Luckily, I've grown up and learnt a lot since then, and realised that the person with issues was not me lol. I agree that there is some value in tests like these, but there are no black and white personality types... lots of shades of grey... they should be used as a guide only. Much love, Elle xx

Usually ENTJ, but sometimes INTJ. ENTJ Sexual Tendencies:"Sexually, the ENTJ is robust, imaginative and enthusiastic. Their natural instinct to lead will beapparent in this arena as well as other areas of life, and they will lead their partner on creativelovemaking adventures, where the focus is on mutual learning and affection sharing. They’relikely to expect sex on a relatively scheduled basis." Replace "scheduled" at the end there with "constant" and they've probably nailed it. These tests are legitimately useful in the corporate world, but they are just an indicator of behavioural preferences. Definitely not gospel. I have material with in depth analysis of each type - let me know if you are interested.

Yep, us ENFP types are high on feeling. So high people mistakenly think I'm on drugs half the time. But when you get feelings so strong that they make you literally throw up, it's kinda hard to ignore them. A funny quote I came across "Don't let your feelings get in the way of rational thought... said no ENFP ever". But with such required awareness of my own feelings to manage them, I can see why us ENFPs are so empathic. I usually get people telling me their life stories within half an hour of meeting them. Which is why I guess we are so suited to INXJ types... able to make them feel safe so they can come out of their introverted shells and share with us their wonderful internal world... aarguably their beautiful souls :) And so far, every INXJ on this thread has been of personality very interesting... just wish there was one tall, athletic one in Perth :)

It is awful how people need to use labelling to put down others to make themselves feel better as a person. As you rightly pointed out it was their problem. We are all unique in our special ways and you should embrace this. The last thing you want to be is normal. Who wants that as a partner. No wonder so much cheating goes on if people try to find normal, because with so much of it people can just be interchangeable. I say embrace your uniqueness and that way you are never interchangeable with anyone else, which will make everything so much more you and special :)

  • RHP

As I previously stated, being an ENFP I thoroughly enjoy coaxing out the innerself of a person. This is not to manipulate the person as most weary people think... But is to connect with people at a much deeper level. The most enticingly interesting thing for me is a lady with a lot of depth to her that has layers of intrigue to discover about her. Hence I guess why INXJ types are so interesting to us ENFPs... so much to explore and always something to keep us from getting bored and moving on. Yep, us ENFPs can be pretty flighty if you don't engage our minds and hearts.... only way to my body that is for sure :)

Quoting 'SluuteeStu' PsychoBabble, up there with astrology. The MB and other personality tests are guides only and obviously not an exact science. The MB can't seriously be compared with something like astrology, where every astrological sign is designed to relate to anyone. Conversely, I can't deny that my INFP type describes me well, with other MB types falling along a spectrum of less like to totally unlike.

Quoting 'Twisted_Mister' CGBWT. Cricket, Beer, Golf and Wild Turkey. Easy!!!! - Posted from rhpmobile Lol Twisted. Once upon a time I was involved with/married to/divorced from an "almost" psych who wanted to know what I was to see if we were compatible... We obviously weren't aaaand I don't think it had tooooo much to do with whether I was feeling or thinking that her cheating was a problem. I did perceive that I was judged by her a lot, though I could never sense it in time to be of use whilst I was in my shell. Honestly though. I come up with a different result dependent upon my mood at that time of testing.E and I are always close and interchangeable.Same goes for F and T.The only constants have been my N and P scores, though not particularly strong they've remained the same over the many times I've been tested. Seriously though, whilst I see some personality traits in my results I struggle to accept that everyone in the world falls within 16 types, or 12 astrological signs (13 according to the new charts) or whatever limited measuring scale you wish to devise.I prefer SBS's slogan - 6 Billion stories and counting. However if you combine the fact that I'm an ENFP (INTP or whatever) with my being a Leo middle child Rooster who has strong Golden Retriever traits, coupled with minor Worker Bee/Beaver traits. You may then have a better idea of my personality... than even I do. CheersA constantly self assessingRusty

Glad it was useful. Yes, I found reading my type it helped me accept a lot about myself. Particularly being the eternal flirt but never really being interested in going further. So many times I've had women give me that linger look of kiss me, but I just did not feel it... possibly lots of opportunities missed, but have to say I'm always off moments later finding something else "shinny" taking my interest (though the times where I did go just the beck, I should've got distracted by something "shimmy" :p ). Though must admit, when I do finally pick a lover it is very loyal and very intense :)

fully functioning sociopath, level 7 narcissistic personality disorder, with any number of borderline personality disorders and a side of manic depressive episodes with involuntary narcissistic rage on occasion. I lack the incentive and the emotional investment to answer your question in its purest psychoanalytical form. Though I have a sadistic personality disorder if that helps, a few shades of a messiah complex perhaps? The entire DSM would leave me apathetic were I not so damn lethargic. Have you ever considered that anyone who goes into study of the field of psychology does so to exorcise their own fucked up childhood traumas? And if that is true, should you really trust your shrink for 'guidance' or 'counselling' for that matter... considering they're probably even more fucked in the head than you might be? Just because Freud was a coke-snorting mother-fucker in the literal sense of the word, just because everything he theorized was based purely on sex, doesn't mean we should discredit him and all his research right? Everyone knows Jung was the real brains of that dangerous game. His theories were actually sound, though I'm the first to point out that anyone can lie, especially when it comes to a Rorschach test. The idea is to give answers that are thematically adverse and to avoid the forming of a pattern. I may do the test, but I put as much faith in modern psychology as I do the runic alphabet. Its all cuneiform to me.

Well your knowledge is slightly out... narcissism is a lesser concern than the more terrifying borderline. A narcissist is just a bully. Stand up to them and watch them crumble. Borderline rage on the other hand is terrifying and it does not crumble. Shall we talk about schemas and having many to be able to break you down as an individual finding the innate fears and exposing them to you, then laughing as I invalid you pains by mentioning what real pain is. But we need not go there, except to say that sometimes the best characters have the deapest scares. And that a profession built from many with deap scars that have healed and now look to help others wounded. But yes, also be weary of pointing the finger because many people deal in a reality your ignorance can just not cope with.
