  don't think so. I suspect there wouldn't be much of an attendance, considering Gladstone's size and that even at meets in the capitals not everyone who registers actually shows up. Maybe if it was held in Rocky you might get a few more but I still think it would struggle.

You're a couple, so that should help kick things off, as many people fear these nights being a sausage festival, which they never turn out to be I should add. Read the upcoming Sydney thread and the recent brizvegas thread to get a handle on how to present it to people. Maybe contact the people who were prominent in organising those events and get some tips off them. What I would also do is stump up for membership and personally message as many active profiles as you can find within say 300 km. If you make it a fun relaxed meet, you will be surprised at how far people will travel to attend... Good luck Hp xo💋 Because you're worth it...

I am getting very sick of not being able to voice my opinion or point out anything of a practical nature on here without someone trying to elevate themselves by having a go at me. I stated that Gladstone is very small (I lived there for a year so I know what the place is like), and that considering what I know of the meets held in capital cities they would probably struggle for numbers. That's it. If they want to try and organise something, that's fine and maybe they can prove me wrong. Unlike a lot of the posters on here I do actually know what it's like being on RHP when living in a regional area and if I want to, then I will continue to offer my opinion where it's relevant. As I have previously stated, if you or anyone else don't like my posts, don't read them.

  With L.D...Gladstone is very small,but if you are prepared to put the energy and effort in,you may have success....good luck... H.P...that was patronising xQ

  If anyone had organised a meet in Gladstone... How about offering a bit of encouragement guys ? Ld, I apologise, but you sounded negative about the whole idea. If no one organised anything no one will come will they ? I have been rural and remote for the last 12 months, far more remote than Gladstone or Townsville... I have met some quality people who because of their remoteness are used to traveling for anything, so a two or three hour drive to meet some fun like minded people is not so daunting... Unlike some of the city folk who claim they won't travel more than 15 mins... Hp xo💋 Because you're worth it...

  I stand by my suggestion of taking your bucket of cold water back to your room LD, and I hope that you'll accept my apology for the other bit. Diversity of opinion in here is great, I love it. As I said above, I just read you as being too negative on the entire idea. The op already has 12 friends... So they are 1/2 way to getting some sort of attendance... And with the success over the past 12 months of the drinks nights in brizvegas and Sydney should encourage all people here of the value and fun of attending these nights...   OP, I believe the Rockhampton may have meet & greets from time to time. There certainly seems to be quite a few people in the Rockhampton/Yeppoon area if you do a search. I know it is a bit of a drive from Gladstone to Rockv but there is a bigger pool of members there and it is probably also more convenient for other people living in CQ to get to as a central point. You might want to put a up a thread checking for expressions of interest and then take it from there.

  Concur with the practicalities that LD had brought up and setting expectations. OP the recent Melbourne meet and greet had 84-90 people registered their interest. Only abiut half to 50 showed up. I came late so didnt see early attendees. You can imagine the percentage attendance to be similar. the logistics if setting up a m&g is very involved and time consuming. Fortunately our.Melbourne organizers are very diligent and the venue selection abound. Good luck but set your expectation to a realistic level. You might be better off participating with the closest capital city to you for.the next m&g. Cost and time efficient. HP not cool. I don't believe LD was a downer.   We would be happy to see a get together in Gladstone. I agree Gladstone is small be there are some very active couples here. Maybe being small is better as the people are more serious and less keyboard lovers as there are in the BIG cities.

  Agree with 3sbetter-- being small can be better & less likely to be keyboard lovers too, at least while we try to get this bigger- then we'll have Rocky people come down to us :-D You get to see who's coming too because we all have sexy RHP profiles. I went to a Facebook singles party last night & thought "never again & why do I do this?"- it was ball torture :( Hags & lager louts, not players :( {but I'll be the 'bad guy' for saying it} Let's not have the nay-sayers & kill-joys ruin it before it even gets off the ground. Let's give it a few chances to flourish at least. It's a great idea BTW-- I'M IN...!!!

  Bahahaha Here's how you do it.... 1. Find a venue. 2. Post an ad on here. Meet and greets are social events....they're nothing more than that....you don't need to organise bouts of pin the tail on the donkey...   Hi all you want to be players around Gladstone and Rockhampton. I started a group 10 years ago in the Wide bay, Rocky and Gladstone area. I used to put adds in the local paper and now we have moved to RHP. Over the years we have had some great Meet and Greets nights. The last one was in July. The add was on RHP and in the paper. The Meet and Greet night in July, the people that came to the night were mainly all my old players. Plenty of single men would love to come but not real good without the ladies so we keep it to couples and single women. A single man can make a couple by inviting a lady. We hold the parties at one of our couples houses or book a few rooms at a motel that way other couples can stay there at a good rate and we can play in the other rooms we have booked. Also we have meals at a special price and a private room to ourselves so we can talk. We play most Thursday nights in Rocky you can come along and meet some of my players if you would like to. If you would like to play tonight Lyndall and myself can come to Gladstone an see you tonight and play. We will travel to see people but we want to play, not get drunk or eat and talk all night. RHP is to meet people and have sex. Not a dirty face book site where people talk about having sex and showing rude photo's and do not take the next step. Once they take the next step it is very hard not to keep on going as it is sex that you can not have as a couple on your own. If people spend money to travel and motel rooms as a host you need to be able to start the ball rolling or have a couple that will get there cloths off and play.
