Mobile number and email listing warning

April 19 2013

Take this as a community service announcement ....... If you list your mobile number on site or give your email address to someone be advised that with smartphones IPHONES in particular those details can be used on the Facebook app to find your Facebook profile !!!!! If that mobile is on your Facebook or the email address you gave is used for Facebook Hence revealing who you are and possibly seeing your details and friends list etc etc and your own personal information ( depending on your privacy settings ) I won't list on here how to do it but it is quite simple and has a huge potential to create unwanted attention How do I know ? Someone did it to me off my mobile they wouldn't tell me how they did it so I went and worked out how to do it and it has nothing to do with giving rhp access to your Facebook to get pics etc Be careful people

Instantly changed my email addy..........only to find it also can take one to your Linked In account as well (using that method) ....and also sends messages to your contacts who you are or once was, in contact with.....   All of a sudden your looking at the Linked In profile of people from like 10 years ago...(depending how old your email addy is) fine if you want to catch up with folks, frightening if thats not you signed up to.

Did you know that when you take a picture with your iPhone it records your exact co-ordinates. So if a person knows how they can pinpoint where you took that photo.... Like your bedroom!! But just by editing the picture slightly such as cropping it means that the location data is saved over. I suppose it also is the same if you have that functionality on your camera. You then load pictures on some websites which may not have the security to stop people accessing that data from your photos. FB for instances doesn't allow people to see that info. Or something like that. I am not technical at all but you get my drift.

I have given my phone number to men from here after just a few messages and have been SO lucky. My instincts have served me well so far but I do think it's playing with fire and I need to be more careful.

The 3 people she sent a message to we're special female Facebook friends and told her they were on rhp as well and suggested she should get a life , unlike a lot if people I don't care if people know I'm on here but it could easily be used to stalk people or similar - Posted from rhpmobile

We bought a sterile mobile just for this side of our life...two words Kogan Mobile, so cheap for their plans and it is Telstra 3G (I don't work for Kogan just a tip).Anyway, we don't do anything that could lead to unwanted access to our regular life, think about it. Do u have kids? Would u want your friends/work to know? I'm sure there are people that prey on us and will look to blackmail us or hack us to get personal/financial info.We have had couples and singles that want to MSN/Skype. NEVER, not us. On here or on our sterile mobile only if you want to chat. Anything else is a complete non-starter.Keep safe!

I had something similar happen on Linked in... by default, where a former stalker was contacted & thought I was getting back in touch with him! I was furious, to put it mildly...That's why I have a different email address for RHP.With number listed, do you mean made public?

I notice that some people use the same username across multiple accounts. It just takes a lapse in one account for someone to find out about you. I was showcasing this to someone I met on another site. Just with her username, I found she used it on twitter, where I got her real name. Then searched her name on facebook (she used the same photo as twitter) and saw her logging in four square. I literally, could track her movements from her house to her favourite breakfast place, what time train she takes, where she works, which bar she frequents, etc. So, that favourite photo you use on RHP and facebook. Don't use the same photos. That favourite username you think is cool and you use on RHP, name other dating site, facebook or twitter, don't. Use different usernames. Mobile phone, definitely not. same with email. Four square or any other app that wants to post to your twitter or facebook accounts, think twice and then think again. My GPS is always helpful. Wants to log my location of foursquare and facebook. Thanks, but no thanks.Have a look on youtube at "Amazing mind reader reveals his 'gift'". A lot of your information is on one form of social media or the other. Cross referencing them is not that difficult.

that if you "SYNC" your mobile to your email contacts that is the first problem cause it syncs everything together...It was mentioned to me NOT to do....maybe I have been given the wrong info?? All to confusing for me...but I don't want to be hacked - now that would be bad if my mum received a pic of a handsome penis sent to her or posted on her wall...eeeeeeeeeeeeer no thanksFOXY

I recently updated my iPhone. When I did, it gave me the option to sync with my Facebook... so I did! In my iPhone contacts, I not only had my family and friends, but also some numbers of guys from RHP. Some I'd met, and others, for some reason or another, I hadn't got around to meeting. What I found was very interesting. Many of these "unmet" RHP guys on my iPhone synced in with their Facebook and added their details INCLUDING a little thumbnail picture of them. Half of them had totally different names to what they'd told me. It provided me with their email address and their surname, as well as... a lovely picture of them with their wife/partner/girlfriend! So for all you cheaters out there... be very careful... technology is gonna catch you out!

I've always kept my emails separate. Bloody facebook is so invasive, loosening their privacy standards on a regular basis. I minimise all my privacy settings. Laugh at the poeple who have no idea. A splendid opportunity to stalk people who don't have their settings set tight enough LOL... not that I'd ever take advantage of anything like that! Bahahahaha... But you know if I was the bitch some would like to imagine me as, I'd have far more connection to their lives than they could believe. That's the thing with facebook, it's all so interconnected. New friends suggested because of a tenuous connection through any current friends and even an email address, current or previous. The whole thing is about connection. I've made connections with twitter accounts through facebook. I used to advise people of what I knew when I was a fb group member but apparently that was controlling and now I'm gone and they they can find their own way and know the mistakes they make have nothing to do with me, nothing to do with me trying to control their group. Fuck you all and fuck off, may you get as good as you give, blocking on facebook is the most effective security I know! So if I blocked you means I don't trust you but that ain't no special group, my trust matters to you?... work for it bahahaha. I have the group that matters to me most... at my fingertips... Mayhap I am bitter bitch, lucky it's my problem and not yours... 0:-P

These days with everything sync'ing together, what you can get, without meaning to, is amazing!I was given an app for business, I was told it would collate information for me and save me entering details etc. Without too much info, this particular app sync'ed everything together for me and collated over 7000 contacts!! YES SEVEN THOUSAND! but not only did it grab all those contacts it also shows me who is connected to who, names, companies, email addresses, even down to conversations and exchanges i have had with the contact!! So now I could actually see if someone from my RHP connections is also connected to a friend on facebook or other programs and much more. Personally I cant be bothered sitting there and going through all this information and see whats where and who is connected to who etc... but for someone who wanted to, it would be possible. As I said, this app was given to me for business purposes, and was what I wanted it for... but after seeing this thread its made me think about the possibility of this particular app and what the wrong type of person could do with it. BTW I have many email accounts, and use different online names, vary pictures and profile information, I do a lot of things to ensure everything is separate, but after just looking up my own information in this app, well its surprising that it still managed to grab info. Not as much as it has on some other people but still I have not avoided getting my own info sucked into this app!! Be cautious, think about what your doing, but don't be paranoid!! Technology is here and it is about connecting people so this is bound to happen, and it will continue to do so.

Only the naive get burnt. My Facebook is restricted, so until they add me as a friend and I approve, they see nothing. Secondly, it should always be said that unless you can handle the heat then stay out of the kitchen....not a truer word, in other words, if you can't handle the potential outcome don't list your number or use a secondary number/email. It's a shame that some people need to be burnt before they wake up- Posted from rhpmobile

No truer words have been spoken. You can paste a photo on google images and it will give up results of the exact same photos or similar photos Google thinks might be of the same person. Scammers are getting smarter to that although I did find a 30+ year old posting on another site as an 18 year old new mum.You can also paste snippets of text in quotation marks. If it has been used before, it will bring it up. So, you can easily find if they have other accounts on other sites if you want to.For me, people's private lives are just that private. If they want me to know something, they will tell me. I just do some due diligence to make sure I am not talking to a 20 year old guy living in Nigeria wanting to give me money and his beautiful model sister if I give him some of my money first. If someone here is a real person and wants to talk to me, great. If they want to meet me, fantastic. If not, well that is fine too. I will only be part of your life as and how much you want me to be and vice versa.

is "Hide my Ass" Up until last Friday I worked for international company whose Head Office was based in United States.. and due to the sensitvity of my work and the fact that I was emailing information and up loading files for work, back home ... it was compulsory for all the computers we accessed (desktop and laptops) to be loaded with this program. I use this program at work and home on all my computers This program, among other things allows one to: Anonymously secures your internet connection and encrypt your sensitive web traffic from hackers, network spies, and insecure networks. You can surf websites anonymously, hide your online identity and internet history. Receive emails anonymously, especially useful for when websites or persons you do not trust ask for your email address. Securely upload large files with advanced privacy features, ensuring you control who can and can't download your files. Hide your website address from being shown as a referrer when linking to third-party websites. It leads no electronic footprint on any website anywhere in the world........ Sad that we have to use it..... but that is the modern world nowadays........ and human nature.

I'm sure that was the one the American Folk singer pictures were found in.. errrm.. I mean the Vet from Perth.zu7bcv I heard that you can do the Google image search thing too... but couldn't get it to "search" for me. Not that I find the need to use if often. Just once in a while, the too good to be true profiles, with the too good to be true pictures of men who always have an excuse at the last minute as to why they're cancelling their meet (dog got run over).
