Mobile phone - what is your choice??

December 27 2013

I'm thinking of upgrading my mobile phone! At the moment I have a iPhone 5 - suggestions on what would be a good phone to get or stay with the iPhone! Plus with a new phone do you keep your same number or get a new number? I've always kept the same number, but maybe a change is what is needed! A very boring topic I know lol :-)

Uses an upgraded technology that makes it pretty crap as there aren't too many Bluetooth devices that have upgraded the software to make it work effectively. The HTC is in my opinion a much better choice despite it being android operating system, but the advantages of that are a completely user controlled operating system whereas the apple is very rigid in it's abilities. However.....I do like my iPhone despite the issues with it. :) - Posted from rhpmobile

it is functional!I have it on a plan, and because I "Supply my own phone" - I get considerably more benifits in way of data and free calls. I plug it into my laptop, and it is my modem via "Join me T95 suite"It cost $35.00, so I bought 5 of them :) still WAAAAAy less then a touch phone, and I can afford to lose or kill them almost at will :) I was given a HTC - tried to get used to it.. but.. I am a neanderthal... only recently upgraded from "Smoke signals", hand signals and gutteral grunts!

And it was great for the first 6 months. Now it is driving me craaaaazzyyy!!! It is SO slow in typing texts, takes forever to charge, etc. My sister has the same model and has the same issues. I can't wait til next year when I can upgrade to an iPhone for the very first time! (Oh, and I've had the same phone number for about 13 years!)

My current mobile phone is a basic Nokia. No contract. $20 per month. It phones, it texts. It does what I need. My home plan covers all my web / phone needs. I don't have the need to spend $500 / $800 on a Galaxy or an iPhone, or enter into a $60+ , 24 month contract. Optus, my current provider, is selling an LG Optimus L7 V2, Android Jelly Bean 4.1 for $199. Just swap my sim from current phone to new phone. I don't NEED to upgrade. Do I spend $199 for the fun and become "smart" or do I wait to see what happens in the coming months ? Thanks for any and all thoughts.

Most votes go to HTC, with Nokia being a fave for being unbreakable. I see broken iPhone screens all the time, but have never seen a shattered HTC one by the way. And cwhere, I don't think "et al" means what you think it means.

Didn't like the HTC one, didn't like the Sony Xperia, and now Samsung Galaxy S3 is getting on my nerves. Haven't tried an iPhone but some swear by it and others go to Samsung. Would love me a Nokia 5110 again with snake lol - Posted from rhpmobile

I've had HTC since they first came out and the improvements have been in giant leaps. I also have an iPhone as my work phone and in comparison of the two on a daily basis, I would never choose to own one, the screen sensitivity lags, you can't have widgets, the keyboard is actually more difficult to navigate, and in general its a much bulkier phone. I regularly want to drop the iPhone from a great height. Cudos to Apple though, the brainwashing of a brand has been phenomenal! - Posted from rhpmobile

Seeing as mes is giving a points decision to the robot clan, I better throw a vote in for the fruit phone... Better integration, seamless usage very stable software... Personally I find the samsungs a bit clunky... Their screen size is great to look at, but as a bloke it doesn't fit in my pocket, and I often forget my manbag... 👜 Backups and synch of data is straight forward and quick, I don't know many robot users who backup their data... Scary... 👀 And I can text with my iPad to other fruit users... While I'm posting this now... 👍 Someone said that robot phones "have all the games..." Err... I think the fruit shop has about 3 times the apps available, compared to the robot mob... Hp xo 💌 Because you're worth it...
