I love your topics Well it's pretty obvious what my obsession is. Definitely taken over every waking moment, every thought, and yes to the exclusion of the general world. I need to curb that but not too worried, will find a way to bind it all together. Happy though. It's nice that you like gardening, a healthy thing to do, and I can understand why people get into gardening. I hate it personally, in a 'no garden' phase of my life lol which suits me but appreciate nice gardens and the work that goes into them, the passion that goes into them, nice one my other passion is toys as I've mentioned before. When I was a child, we didn't have a lot of toys, though had a privileged life, but back then, we only had a few, unlike today. So I had the girl's toys but always longed for matchbox cars, tracks, actiion figures, all the things I didn't have. I started searching for the toys I had as a child, found some in op shops, had some send from America even, now have them all again, and then set about searching for old matchbox cars and other boy toys lol That became an obsession and my toys are now part of who I am, I love them, have them displayed, some amazing toys. Children's books as well, the old ones, way way too many, but again, started looking for my old ones and got carried away. Love superhero toys, that kind of thing

I have too many interests to become obsessive about any one. I always have to balance time and money between my interests.

Not so much projects or such. When the surf is happening, not much else is happening. Focus shifts as long as its good. Addiction but there are worse addictions around and my brain needs it. If you saw the Sunday program last sunday you'd understand

I think I'll leave this up to the independent readers of the fora....lol About 8-10 months ago, I started planning a dual battery system for the ute. The need arose when I went camping, having sleep apnea requires I use a machine that pressurises my airway to stop the snoring, and help to prevent O2 saturation in ones blood dropping. Where do I start?? Ahhh ha!!! Forums, and mates that had already started down the path. That gave me a direction and a process to start assessing how much storage I would need. But then I asked, "what if my needs change??" Do I design this to allow for a third battery but only start off using 2? If so, how will I orientate the batteries in the tub of the ute?? Because if if I mount them in the wrong direction, I'll lose cargo space. That's not a good look. That then brought me to yet another dimension....what else am I going to mount in the back of the ute?? What cargo requirements do I have/need etc?? Back to the forums, and mates. Types of batteries then became an issue, should I look at lead acid, agm, calcium or a litium type of battery?? Well, that then depends on where you mount them, and the type of terrain you're going to be in....lol So that process was about a month and I decided on agm. Battery chargers.....lol, do I look at ctek or redarc?? Cable size, fuse boxes, power plugs, solar panels, the box design and how to mount it securely in the ute, canopies to provide weather protection, coverings for the battery box, inverters, switches, building materials, etc... Needless to say I think you're getting the picture. Many weekends have passed that have had me in a frenzy over deciding on it all. Many social gatherings I've passed on, family get togethers I've brought notebooks and my iPad to and sat in the corner busily doodling, visualising, pricing, reading etc....catch ups with my lover, lol.... Ok, you decide lol My thoughts are I'm not just obsessed, I'm possessed lmfao :p - Posted from rhpmobile

I can go a full on Netflix marathon ( I don't use Netflix I use Vuse, its faster :-) with no guilt, like 10 episodes or whatever. House of Cards Season 4 was my last fixation and with a quiet Easter planned there's stacks I still want to watch (which reminds me Soft, did you enjoy the rest of War and Peace ?) The same with a good book, I just curl up and off I go, often forgetting to have a decent meal, I just pick at food while I'm getting into it I've recently tried growing my own herbs (legal) and I've become a bit excited that I have managed to grow something and it has decided to survive. As a result I'm being a bit Martha Stewart about cooking at present adding fresh herbs to everything. I am a bit obsessive about exercising. For me its not just about looking after the body but its the best way for me to cope with stress and clear my head, so I do make it a priority in my day, so I can cope with the rest of the day.

I can be single minded in pursuit of a goal, not sure if obsession is the word. Obsession has a negative connotation to me as it basically describes that I have lost control of my surrounds in the pursuit of something and is quite unhealthy, in my opinion. I prefer to use 'focused' as i like to put my energies in something that triggers my imagination without losing touch of my kids and the real life. I have a love of arts, so polar opposite of my current work. At one of my work gigs overseas, I was exposed to the art of glass making while in Europe. It was wonderful and consumed me with a passion. i bought books on the subject and learnt as much about it as I can online. An opportunity arose for me to do a course in glass fusing and blowing so I went to Venice for a couple weeks to learn from the masters and then to England for a week to further my learning. i still am in love with the art and have created a business on the side on this and it is doing well. Who would have known? i just found a niche, a profitable niche.

The difference IMO is how much of what you are focussing on affects your interactions with others..Does it exclude them even for a short time?..Does it take over nearly every waking thought? More than just ring focused . Usrightnow..A 17th century newspaper, how jealous am I ! How do you preserve it ? Quoting 'Freya70' When I was in Venice I visited the island of Murano..fascinating ..and such beautiful objects xxFreya Yep. Murano was where I did my course. A magical island for me. It was full on and one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life. a 10-12 hr day course for 10 days. Intense. I had to get away from my kids for 3 weeks to 'focus' in discovering my passion which indeed took me away from my day to day life and filled my every breathing moment while I was away. weeks leading to the course, I was anxious and sleeplesss with excitement, but I still had to focus on the kids when they were with me. At the end of the course, I was exhausted yet fulfilled, like finding a bag of gold at the end of the rainbow after what seems endless chasing of rainbows.

I've mentioned on a couple of posts I have ADHD. Which sucks when I find people, work or things uninteresting. But one of the bitter sweet things that comes with ADHD is called hyper focus. It's fab for me but not so much for others around me. I'm still learning how to manage it and sometimes I need to be pulled up by the hubby or a friend and given a dose of the present. If I find a new interest will consume me including loosing 3 or 4 days sleep until my body has had enough. I'm getting better at the finding some balance, but my kids are usually the ones that snap me out of it. The great thing is when I find something fascinating it will take me a long time to become bored. Using an example of watching a series - I could easily spend 24 hours straight with eating and toilet breaks, phone going to the answering machine etc if given the opportunity. Somethings have been having a baby (and the plethora of products to research that are available), books, TV series, art and craft, exercise, forums, YouTube, study, charity work. The current interest of the hour is sex and everything to do with it 😉 Lily - have you looked at Colin Heaney's work? I'm a big fan

I've been googling spouts and batteries this week, mine and his focus being settled on small home improvements, lol. He wanted to put off visiting the store today until Saturday but I couldn't handle having it on my mind anymore after initially buying the wrong tap set online and knowing I'd have to return them as part of our transaction, lol. All done with that portion now. Oh yay! Now to delegate the installing of aforesaid spouts and tapset. First time in over 20 years. Hm, I think I might become crashing bore... hehehe... Peachy

Also because deep cycle can be discharged much lower then 12v without harm unlike a cranking battery then to get the full benefit of the deep cycle you can use a buck boost converter that can convert anything from under 10v up to 14v input and output 12 volt constant. That way you have for example 12v even when the deep cycle has 8 volts and use the extra range the deep cycle can provide from 14v down to 8v or lower with constant 12v output. But that system aint cheap so most just use the top range of the deep cycle only down to 11v or 10v or where 12v loads drop out and then have to charge it.For all intents and purposes they may as well just use a cheap cranking battery and a basic solenoid type charge switcher if they are not making use of the full deep cycle aH range, and that allows reverse jump starting too if the vehicle battery goes flat. Cranking and deep cycle hybrid batteries are a compromise, choose which you want depending on the ancillary battery system you have and get the best battery for that.

Focus is just focus.Obsession is a type of focus.Obsession is being focused on something that intrudes on your thoughts, to the point of disturbing you or causing anxiety. If you are focused on something you wish to be focused on then that is not obsession,Obsession is often used wrongly by people often as a negative slur on other people who are capable of maintaining longer periods of focus on matters than them.

I ended up buying the redarc bcdc1240LV. It's a dc-dc charger and has also a MPPT(maximum power point tracking) solar controller incorporated. With a 40A output, coupled with 4B&S cable between the alternator and the batteries, a changeover relay to switch between the solar panels and the alternator, it's going bang that charge back into the 2 fusion 120Ah batteries in no time as I've decided on 4x100w flexible monocrystalline solar panels as well. This is to ensure that after each night running the fridge and my sleep machine, I'll start off each sun down with 100% charge, making at a complete off the grid design so it doesn't matter if I'm going overnight or for a week. Call now and we'll include 4 blunt spoons, and a large packet of popcorn lol. - Posted from rhpmobile

We are determined by the language we use. Obsession might be a compulsive pursuit of reward, even if it’s just for the sake of doing it, that we see as passion while it lasts. When we lose it we tend to call it an obsession, to make ourselves feel better. Just a dream that went out of control. There is nothing wrong with being a perfectionist, but the hardest thing is to keep your passion last. It is hard sometimes to say what is a behavioral problem and what is an addiction...Can you be addicted to obsession?

I made a post which seems to have vanished, but it also warned about the Optima types committing suicide fairly early in their short lives. They looked nice - but that was the only benefit. Optima's seemingly randomly with dead cells was just not on. oz_boy: very jealous of that laser cutter, I'd love to get one - but an interchangeable head to machine carbon fibre and plywood sheet. My 3D printer is currently getting a good workout, but no good for those sorts of jobs.

When I say sex, actual sex is just a part of the obsession. It started as a curiosity. Why can I do that will help a woman cum more. Is it better toys, is it me, is it technique, how can I learn more. This then translated, into reading about body language, then sex books, female and male psychologies, effects of hormones, estrogen, testosterone, prolactin, oxcytocin, effect of scent, effects of sound, aphrodisiacs for her and me. How to make a woman cum multiples, how to help her cum, quickly easily, and for longer. Help her have an expanded sexual response, where the orgasm gets her to nirvana, when laughter giggles and jelly legs takes over, like they are high. Scouring the internet and books for any and all tips, facts and suggestions. In fact reading rhp for female insight, both positive and negative, learning to be a better more intuitive lover. What I have found is that every one is different and want different outcomes. What's bliss for one, is an annoyance for others. The great thing with sex obsession is that there are so many unexplored facets to it and I'm still learniing, Im currently trying erotic hypnosis, and I am finding , the results exciting and fascinating and alot of Sexy fun. Yes sex can dominate me to the exclusion to all else, but research is different to practice, and I love to practice, practice, practice and this tends to bring me back as I have to loose myself to my lover and be there for her. Keep up the obsessions fellow fora😊😊😊

As you have developed and refined a battery system which has addressed interesting technical points that l can use to develop a battery system so when I take the little tikes camping we have a suitable power supply, have you looked into or considered the Buteyko Breathing Method as a backup for Sleep Apnea and snoring. This is what l recall from the course. Critical is breathing through the nose and pausing between breath's to retain the suitable amount of carbon dioxide in the lungs (around 6%) which equates to balanced body ph, alot of sleep is disrupted by hyperventilating when the oxygen levels are to high and out of balance grow taking in to much air. The nasal passage is tuned to the lungs, the hairs are filters and so breathing should be through the nose. When sleeping use a small piece of tape from the chemist across the lips diagonally and with the lips loose and relaxed. This promotes breathing through the nose and feel comfortable that if you had to you could take in air through the mouth, between the lips or corners, a little piece of mind thing as to be comfortable and relaxed to sleep. And how does this stop snoring, "ya can't snore when breathing through ya nose", apparently.

Quoting 'cavey50' Batteries USED to last for many years.. now they do NOT...Of course.. with all the improved technology.. this is actually NOT possible..Unless of course, there was un underlying reason.. Which of course.. there IS..HOWEVER.. if you try to talk about it.. you get called a "Conspiracy Theorist nutter" So.. from now on in.. you will need to replace your battery every year... SOME times.. you MAY get 18 months.. but don't expect that.. 2 reasons lead acid don't last as long as they used to. Heat is the main one, modern car engines run hotter and the battery gets cooked. Many Euro cars like Merc etc house the battery behind a firewall near the windscreen not near the radiator to avoid the heat, result is they don't kill batteries as fast, some fit it in the boot to avoid it getting cooked. Heat causes the plates to distort compromising the plates and its contacts inside that go high resistance causing more heat and boiling off of the electrolyte and eventually go open circuit.Result is modern cars the battery often dies suddenly when it goes open circuit and doesn't deteriorate slowly like car batteries used to. Moderns cars also draw more standing current and recharge at higher current than older alternators which in turn causes more heat in the battery worsening the situation. Alternator in a car in 70s was 35 amps and that was a decent size, now a 100 amp output alternator isn't uncommon. If the standing current is high the battery will drain down more and when started it'll be taking high amps every time. Older cars not so, they never discharged the battery standing much and only recharged at about 40 amps. Current = heat, so heat is the major factor in why modern cars kill lead acid batteries faster.. The other is that during the life of the battery a fair bit of scale falls off the plates inside into the sump area inside the bottom of the case.In the quest for ever lower profile battery cases to stuff into compact spaces now have a shallower sump area allowing any debris build up to short the plates sooner in its life, if the heat doesn't kill it first. So in short, lead acid battery should last 3 years now, if you are lucky longer.Used to last 5 to 6 years minimum and not uncommon for 10 years. If a battery dies sooner then 3 years it may be a fault with the car, bad starter drawing high current or alternator reg can kill a good battery, or the battery is just getting cooked due to poor battery placement in the vehicle in which case changing brands may or may not help much.. On AGM batteries and why some die, my theory on that is that keeping in mind AGM batteries require quality materials and higher precision to make a battery there is only so much people will pay for a car battery and the result it to keep the cost of them low the quality and or materials used are not "optimal" resulting in a high failure rate of them. They were supposed to make lead acid redundant but failed to live up the hype and justify the extra cost of them.Unless trey are appreciably better in longevity and performance why spend a lot more for one.And they may be far better in theory but that likely relies on high quality manufacture which may price them out of the market.

nahh I haven't even heard of it before lol is that like another breathing thing designed for asthmatics where they run around a circle holding their noses or something?? Re: your battery design....as long as you know your usage to a pretty fair guesstimate or even invest in a little meter that you can pick up from EBay for about $20, that measures your watts, amperage, voltage, and calculates your amphours for you.... I looked up online the info about my waeco cf-50 fridge, and the resmed machine. The resmed was an 80amphour battery on its own based upon the humidifier setting being 3, and a 30oC air temp for 8 hours. Which based on a 50% discharge cycle(recommended for battery life optimum) indicates it uses 40 amp hours over 8 hours or 5Ah an hour. The fridges are the tricky ones as they may draw 5amps continuous while they're running, but they may only run for 25% of the time. So in an hour that could be safely estimated at 5x.25=1.25amp per hour, or 1.25Ah. Then over a constant 24 hours you can guesstimate that 24 hours x 1.25 = 30Ah....that's your usage for 24 hours, so we double it so that we only discharge the battery by 50%. In this instance it's 60Ah. Add that to the 80Ah for the resmed and it comes to 140Ah minimum storage.... If you're then running stuff from an inverter, your load on the inverter of say a microwave of 800w. For a 12v system we divide the 800w by 10(and 12 for a 24v system) and we can estimate that we will draw 80amps continuous for that microwave. Over a 10minute period, that equates to about 13.33 amps. Anyway I'm getting carried away a bit I think. Point is, start off with what you want to run right now when you head out, then add on what you MIGHT like to run off it and then double your usage to calculate your storage and then build the charge system around that. Be it a dc-dc charger with a solar input or whatever fits the needs and your budget. - Posted from rhpmobile

vibration and heat fuck batteries like a nun having a sleepover with the priest. Car manufacturers have a lot of work to do now that they've cluttered the absolute bejesus out of the engine bays. I believe to a detrimental amount as it's clearly reduced airflow around the engine that would've otherwise dissipated much of the heat. I had an SS commodore prior to colorado, it's battery was in the boot. I had that car for 3.5 years, and I'd even ran the battery down flat once after I fell asleep in a parking bay with the radio etc on. Push started it, and it also sat for about 8 weeks stagnant after I accidentally threw the keys out in the rubbish(including the spares and that's a whole other story lol), and it was a lead acid type....never been replaced, and it was still going strong when I traded the SS in on the colorado, and let's face it, V8's have a greedy start lol - Posted from rhpmobile
