If I'm stressed and there are no classes scheduled I turn music up really loud and dance like a crazy person.... Afterwards you are full of endorphins, stretched and exhausted... Everything feels a bit better! Xx Miss L. ed

I get some music going, go to the gym, play pool, let loose on the punching bag and if all else fails, I go to the hairdresser for a cut and colour.

Look for the positives in what has happened ,eg ,you didn't get hit at the roundabout ,that's awesome ,as hard as it is ,there's nearly always something that could have been worse ,slow down ,step back ,breath ,and look for a positive ,nearly always some Form of positives are there, just sometimes they are harder to find - Posted from rhpmobile

I take a slow, deep breath, and remind myself that I've handled worse situations before and in the end, I've come out ok. If you've hit rock bottom before, very little fazes you much for too long. I then roll up my sleeves and get right into solving the situation as best as possible. I think my work entails dealing with a lot of emergencies and twists and turns on a regular basis so after all these years of fighting fires, I've become pretty immune to it all and my colleagues and I have learnt to just crack some joke and laugh it all off. These days, I have a new thang to look forward to when I'm home - mixing up one of my favourite cocktails with my premium wines. My bottles of wine are growing! LOL!!! And whilst I'm on my way home, I listen to the MP3's on my kickass playlist which includes music from Prodigy and Linkin' Park, Get Your Freak On by Missy Elliott, the OST from Hitch and Coyote Ugly, the theme song from Mission Impossible, and maybe even some cutesy K-Pop girl band / boy band dance tunes. And then when I am near home, my cat comes out to greet me and meow as if he's telling me that he's missed me the whole day. Aaaaahhh...

No good stressing about stuff, it's draining. YMMV.

Ben and Jerry, is good! I get stressed/frustrated mainly to do work. Once I leave that's it. Door shut and off I go. If it's a bad day, I put music on for the drive home. Once I am home, and open my front door, nothing else matters. I'm a saggitarian, so it doesn't last long nor do we hold grudges. I don't know....we deal with it at the time, then just move on. ... call my friends / Whatsapp them to unload after the event but these days, I hardly do that anymore and I deal with it all by myself. I think I've learnt by observing some really stellar people at work. Some of the guys are so calm that even in the face of disaster, they still manage to remain calm and in control. I've learnt through observing and via diffusion, by simply working alongside the masters! LOL!!! Worse comes to worse, encourage yourself by telling yourself that the more difficult situations you handle, the more adept you become at handling them. The strongest steel if forged in fire. Whatever difficulties you are encountering at this point in time, is merely a character-building opportunity when viewed retrospectively. Also, whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger so... you're going to come out of it stronger, yay! :D OP, glad that you came out of the accident relatively unscathed. It could have been worse.

Ms Foxy *muacks! *muacks! Hugs and kisses for you, Ms Foxy! I'll brush your mane and tie a ribbon on your horse tail for you anytime! Hehehe! One of my best guy pals is a Sagittarius! I was always kidding him about the which half is man, which half is horse thang and one time, when I had to look after him after he had an operation, no kidding, the right bit IS built like a horse!!! He has totally redefined "Big" for me! LOL!!! That aside, he is one of the kindest guys I know. He loves life, loves people, and you can tell from the sparkles in his eyes. He sees the best in people and is very quick to compliment people. Best mate ever!

A cgoid atch up with a girlfriend/friends/lover for debriefing, works wonders. Just to get my mind off what ever it is that's worrying me, at that time. Sometimes, I may hide away from the world to self soothe to process and think things through. Sometimes, I over think and make myself mad! Then I go "Fuck it, I'm done, I'm over it now". Ms Foxy

For different things For emotional relationship stress, work is my remedy. Not too much alcohol as it makes it worse. For work stress, a spa at the end of the day. 2 hrs worth with an intimate discussion with a good shiraz. For all of the above for some sleep, a nice valium or couple of mersyndol nights, a herbal cigarette or couple of straight honey bourbons. Really bad. The whole lot and wake up 2 days later and you cant remember what the problem was. .....

I make checklists. And when I do things that I didn't initially put on the checklist, I add them just so I can check them off. - Posted from rhpmobile

I step back and take a look at the bigger picture....and just let it go...ah, sweet relief. It makes me see all the great things I have in life, be grateful for them and reminds me to not take things for granted. Reading Dissiderata by Max Ehrmann is also of great benefit when I struggle to meet this perspective easily.

Most of the time I just take a deep breath rethink the whole situation and then just get on with it. For every bad day there's a squillion good ones. Today sucked..... I went for a stroll after work and randomly spoke with some uplifting strangers, it was nice they made my day. Came home and poured a drink and cooked some food for the household. Have two other companies who've told me any time I want to apply so thinking hard about the future and whether or not to relocate. Any other day I curl up with a movie or plot a gathering. I'm joining an outrigging club so I can let my stress slip away to the stroke of a paddle and zone out watching the water slip past with every stroke and just BE. 🙄 Going postal would be ideal lol but wouldn't get me anywhere!! 😳 ~ Indy

thanks for the variety of responses, quite an interesting variety. i started feeling a bit better after finishing my water bottle and a couple of muesli bars. was definitely hanging out for lunch though. a fresh mixed juice and a decently sized baguette later and some slight more improvement. was still very antsy and anxious, mind was still a bit jittery. ended up having a very nice and interesting turmeric ginger beer from loose produce when we visited earlier for some raw/bliss ball ingredients (she makes those, special recipe from her naturopath). and grabbed a 3 tulsi tea which im now having at home. i think a relaxed night in the bedroom and a bit of a sleep in tomorrow (no classes, woop!) should solve the rest. but still....drivers on the road, so unpredictable. glad i play tennis and things, so my situational awareness is rather pretty good be interesting to see how far this thread goes. i havent had any chocolate yet, but theres some 85% lindt waiting for me downstairs...if i had bought it however it would be 90% ;)

If I'm at work...and sometimes I do feel stressed, under the pump on the job...then I dig deeper and get it done. After it's over and the stress has passed, I'll open a beer, sit outside for a bit and read something low key and not too demanding. In silence, no music, just nature. I hear music all day at work. At home? I don't know...I have the luxury of time. Today and yesterday I painted the insides of my home...something new to me...and I had one or two moments...but I had time to figure out how to fix my mistakes, so all good. When I've had accidents on motorbikes or close calls, it's almost like an autopilot takes over...I just do whatever has to be done for the situation and see it through. But when the day is over and nothing else needs to be seen to, then I just crash and do exactly what I do after a stressful day at work.

Quoting 'SuperFoxxxy' We would get on well. :) I've been told the exact same things, many times. I do love life! Ms Foxy Didcha just typo and called me "PurePony"? Hehehe! How didcha know that I love to be ridden at a good gallop? A good laugh and plenty of giggles always destresses me at the end of a bad day.

Everyone has down days. I analyse the situation. For me its important to remember that every bad situation will pass and the best thing I can do is to start working towards making it better, but give it time. These days we tend to expect things to be as we want them immediately, but things take time. A good bike ride through some mountain trails, loud music, doing something constructive....these all help me.

You can always reset your day anytime you wish. It's all in the mind. If I find things piling up or a string of things the seem to go wrong I always just stop and breathe. Gather my thoughts and decide to just reset everything including my attitude and start again. If you have the opportunity. Stop whatever you think is so important and rushed and take just some quiet time. It might be a quick coffee, bath, listen to your favourite song or just concentrating on your breathing and centring yourself even for a minute or two. Everything that you are rushing for and stressed about will still be there is 2 minutes or 2 hours so try and look after you. I'm so glad you didn't get hit or hurt. I always think of things that slow me down as blessings that may have made me miss something worse like a true accident. I have been caught up a number of times and then passed by an accident that I probably would have been involved in if the other event hadn't happened. Sometimes the universe looks after you in mysterious ways. If all else fails Annie gave some great advice, a glass of wine and a valium will always do the trick. If you need it cry it out with a sad movie followed by a long hot shower or bath. Everything will seem better in the morning. If you find this happens a lot maybe you just need a break, we all just seem to get so busy these days. Talk it out with a trusted friend or see a professional and just vent. I hope thing get better soon.

Similar to Boo says.... the use of water as a metaphor is something I find very handy. I go to the bathroom,... wash my hands very slowly and methodically, and say to myself... I am washing away the stress and dramaThe stress and drama is leaving me and flowing away with the water. Really concentrate on the water, and the effect of your hands moving over each other. I Find this works very well for me

stress is caused by being overwhelmed with feelings being bought on by frustration. The frustration sets in because of a feeling of helplessness, when we don't have any control over said events or their outcome. I find if I have control and the ability to work through the problem, if that's within my power, then it will sort itself out with some deep breaths and so on. But when that control is removed and it's in the hands of the Gods, that's when the real stress sets in. I had that today and it gripped me, it was like a pain in the stomach, but caused by a financial hiccup, well I'm hoping only a hiccup, but I have no control over the outcome, I've done what I can, and now have to sit back and see if I'm royally ripped off or not. That's the kind of thing that makes your blood boil, and no amount of relaxing or alcohol lol or other said calming ingredients, will help. So i feel you pain. One foot in front of the other. If we go to sleep and wake up tomorrow morning, that's a good start, could be worse right

I don't get out of bed? or... I try to do something that will be a success. There are always dishes to wash. :-P I tidy or clear a space. I have a feed or a drink and provide succour to myself. 'I' matter. All the better to give to 'we'. Peachy... :-)
