We try to keep them fresh, most no more than six months a couple of older ones but they really don't have any bearing on our looks as they are play photos indicating yeah we get it on. :)We have seen photos that date back to the 80's going by the stonewash jeans and mirrored sunnies.

Not harsh at all .. It's a little deceptive using really old shots. There has to be some chemistry as part of the equation! We all looked better when we were 25 .. got to move on though .. and anyway there's someone for everyone. Better that all parties are happy and not thinking ( God how do we get out of here ). Likely to get embarassing.

I presume you ask them how old their photos are then? If so..... are you believing the answer? (or asking them to pose beside today's Herald lol) Brings up an important issue..... If in doubt, there is nothing wrong with asking gor more information....... and always be prepared to walk away. DG

Our pics are about 18 months old - but we don't look any different! We'll update them when we get some time.I think you need to do whatever you feel you need to do - if that means more rigorously vetting pics, that's entirely your choice and you don't need to justify it to anyone else. The practicalities of how you do that though will be interesting to know.

For those who use old photos! I have come across so many male profiles which say their body type is athletic, and they use very old photos that show their toned and well proportioned muscular arms and six packs for their profile pics, but when I meet them in real life, hardly any of those assets are there and all I see and feel in my hands are loose muscles and one pack lol Pathetic I must say, but it's their marketing technique, so each to their own 😆- Posted from rhpmobile

sounds fair.... we have a few that are from prior to the last 12 months........but that's mainly because we've had no real opportunity to update for a little while...is coming tho, lol...people must realise that there is a point where they will be found out...that photos will not reflect who they are, or what they really look like...............now.

We do have some older pics (just for variety)..but we always ensure that the main profile pics are fairly recent. But we can guarantee..what you see is what you get! As for the comment about spotting old photos by the clothes being worn....don't be quick to judge..our fashion sense is still 70s & 80s...you won't find any cringe worthy checkered shirts, baggy shorts or gay looking loafers in our wardrobes! LOL

My profile pics are old and recent 1s so I tend to update my pics every few months. Been stung in the past by a couple who posted up old pics (like 1997 pics) when I first joined up on here. I do admit I did put on about 12kgs (due to work and being in an unhappy relationship) about a year ago and to add to my woes had a couple of knock backs along the way with meets. Since then I've dropped all that extra weight got out of that messy relationship and changed my work schedule. I guess I'm blessed with having the genes (metabolism and muscle memory) of a 25yo athletic male so I tend to leave some of my old pics up on my profile. TG.

Mine on my profile is recent pictures ,the oldest would be like 6 months ...i have met them boyz with old pictures showing great bodies but not there to be found when met, but you know what?.. we are not obligated to do anything with any of them if we dont want to,..just laugh at it and brush it off , its not the worse we can all still talk and enjoy the nite after all you are there with them ,what else you gonna do ? swear at them? i am definitely wont be rude or throwing tantrums towards them sure you are dissapointed but thats life...must be able to take the good and the bad...after all considered your self all good looking people to be lucky, Being the good looking ones that every men /women wanna meet ...as for me i will never be stressing about it ( open minded about all those pictures ), coz i know i've been very lucky in this life , and making new friends wont hurt either ...it doesnt have to be bed friends everytime tho' ,cheers !

In principal I disagree completely. I'm not going out of my way to update my pics when the action isn't being returned. Its too much effort to actually find someone to take new photos every six months.... because truthfully.... I don't get that much sex that I could justifty hiring a photographer every six months. In the six years I have been on RHP, I have met, at a conservative estimate, 2 people. Hardly worth getting more photogs taken. I'd like to, but in saying that, old photos are better than shitty myspace-quality selfies. I've opened the offer for some sexy attractive ladies to take some new photos but no takers... so in conclusion, so not my problem :-) I'm perfectly happy with who I am, and in fairness, I look better now than when my current pics were taken. I'm thinner, if that counts for anything. :-)

Some of my photos date stamp didn't make sense to me and upon further investigation I realised that I wouldn't in the past set the date on my camera so it gave some irrelevant date. But in saying that most of mine are recent but yes I have met people whose weren't and so agree don't they realise they will get caught out......lol.

I just looked at them while reading this thread and realised how much I have changed over the last two years, both physically and emotionally. I wonder if other people would be able to see the same thing? Neptune, I'm with you about the need for people to update their profiles, not so much because its a turn off, but more because I have enjoyed reading some profiles more than some of the forum threads, and almost as much as the alluring and fun profile pics that most people often put up... Having recently (ok getiing just over 6 months ago) the privilege to have had my photos taken by the wonderful Tuscan Red. I am more than happy to use them.Given that I am absolutely hopeless with a camera (I cause it to have the shakes even on a tripod) and I hate trying to take a photo via a mirror (as the only decent mirror I own faces reflects the toilet) I cannot see me updating mine in the near future.If it harms my chances oh well. If someone I meet offers to snap away I am all for it but there is still no guarantee they will end up here.

My profile picture is about 5 years old. Since then I've lost a couple of kilos and add a couple of grey hairs but, as the ladies I have met will attest to, I look very much the same as my photo. But I should have some new photos up soon.

You could ask them for a personal pic of something you know they don't already have in their gallery. Swapping pics is good fun anyway. whats annnoying is pics without facial been hidden or sunglasses , a cpl is a cpl not one person in the cpls profile i find is annoying, yes there is old pics on profiles hmm some as ten yrs old strange how when you k now they should be showing some wrinkles by thier t rue age . does cples prove their right age to for id, pity they dotn ask for a marriage license to verify they are truely married, and not made up as a cpl ..so i guess must be frustrating for all

I don't get what is so difficult about getting your laptop out and using your webcam. I am laying practically naked on my bed, so used my wireless mouse, simply got cursor into position on the button, lay on the bed and clicked away, all by myself (I've hidden the mouse out of sight) I've been asked who was the lucky bloke who took the pics... Nope just me. It's really not rocket science.

But what gets me is profiles that seem to have strategically uploaded a 'head shot' or 'face shot' and a then a separate 'body shot' but never their head and body joined together in the one pic? Makes me wonder if the head and the body shown are really them? Or only the body? Or just the head is theirs? Aagh! Too hard. Like I said if you want proof then meet in person. P.S. my pics are all recent 2012/2013 btw. This is how I look right now. (Any spoiler who wants to, take it on themselves to scoff or, dismiss that fact is welcome to come and meet me in the flesh before they comment otherwise )

ours are taken on an old Kodak digital I rescued from the bargain bin at kmart.....its ridiculously simple to take decent...even good pictures, and yes...you can do great pics of yourself using just about any camera that has a timer....there is no excuse other than pure laziness for not having up to date and decent photos.....

Hi - Mr IAT here for a change :)My thoughts differ from most of you....I have found that in our experiences in meeting quite a few people from here over the last couple of years that people 9 times out of 10 look better in the flesh than their photos! Photos, unless professional, rarely do people justice I think. They never catch truly the sparkle in someone's eye. There has only been one case where I have found that the picture in no way resembled the person (and not in positive way). Maybe we just choose who we meet well, only choosing to meet those people who come over trustworthy in email or phone? Mr IAT!

of course we each have our own method for sorting the people we will meet from the people we wont and if this works for you then that is great, however as others have pointed out determining the age/validity of a pic is extremely difficult and also what do you define as 'recent' 6 months? a year? or longer if you still look the same? it is a bit of a grey area to me.Like mr IAT i have often found people to be more attractive to me in person than in thier pic anyway and yes i have met some that are nothing like thier profile or pictures but to me that is part of the experience and i take it with a grain of salt, it is disapointing at times but it is what it is.

I dont believe anyone looks exactly like they do in their pics in real life (myself included). But mine are always recent and I try to show myself as accurately as possible. I've had a few 'false advertisers' and it can be very disappointing. Same as those that don't include a face pic I'm their pg. I get the raunchy pics but I mean if I'm going to meet the person I'm pretty sure I'm going to be seeing their face first so a pic of that would be nice. Off topic a little, also don't like people who lie about their stats, particularly height/weight etc. I dont get that at all.

What misskey83 said - the falseness in the weight/size is a big thing - hence why we like reasonably recent pics - if you look the same or at least similar to the pics that's perfect but when the pics are obviously 10 years old or very misleading it just wastes everyone's time. We just had a recent experience where he looked nothing like the pics and she looked the same just about 20 kilo's heavier! Very misleading. And that hasn't been the first and probably won't be the last either! And I agree the majority of people look much better in the flesh, not to mention the touch factor is there too!!! :) Keep smiling all and have a great long weekend everyone!

A picture is exactly that, a basic representation or portrayal of a figure, person or whatever.. So...If you GET a basic representation of a person and you like that representation, then whining, pissing and moaning about the validity of looks in a photo is not really putting your energy to good use is it and you could actually be bypassing someone really great? Meeting the people behind the picture seems to me a far better and more accurate option.. Then and only then will you discover the true image of that person and be able to make a legit decision.. Like myself and unlike my beautiful wife, photogenics just doesn't gel and I can still look like shit after a thousand photos so we don't take pics too seriously and therefore like to make our actual decision in the flesh....Mr Pussypurrfect

Since then I've lost a couple of kilos and add a couple of grey hairs but, as the ladies I have met will attest to, I look very much the same as my photo. But I should have some new photos up soon. That's it! Can't be friends with you now....

Obviously had a bit of a shock there?.Some people age quickly, some not. Some body changes occur over 5-7 years. Some improve, some not..Misrepresentation by any one is a dumb-arsed thing to do, that's for sure.

I met a lady for a date recently. Her profile pic was the only thing I had to go on in order to recognise her - I walked past her twice before realising it was her. The profile pic was a good 8 years old..!!! Rather annoying really....My profile pic is 3 weeks old....Danny

Old or new we don't consider pic to be misleading so long it is reasonable representation of how you look currently. Yes it is deceptive to lie about the date of pictures, but equally wrong is to dictate your definition of what is old.Oh that reminds us our pic are 1yrs old and doing injustice to us bcos we think we look better now..thanks for reminding us..lol
