Its the preparation. Yoga, pilates and hot yoga. Treat the cause, not the symptom. That way you can enjoy lots of positions instead of maintaining one that may work. Its a lifestyle change that can really make a difference. But you need to put the time in for med to long term solution Of course all back injuries are different and the reason that it will impossible to suggest a position anyway. Good luck.

Why do you have a bad back, whats the injury??If its muscular then the problem is solvable, if its structural then you need to talk to a Dr. The most common fix prescribed when you go to an A&E dept, is 5mg of valium and brufen. If its structural your fucked basically as it will only get worse. If you have prvt health you could seek out a pain specialist to help manage your pain ( stay away from lyrica). Loosing weight is the best and easiest solution to helping reduce back pain, followed by increasing core strength.

my back has been broken a number of times, through bull-riding, drunken misadventure, and accidents.Xrays show 4 breaks/cracks, and various parts completely removed from the program altogether.I have worked a regime to keep the muscles strong and flexible.Time consuming, and all that, and it means I need to follow that virtually daily.BUT, I can still do all the shit an unbroken fella half my age can do - workwise.I don't know the extent of damage, or origins of your pain, so, I can only talk what I do..I no longer go to Doctors about it, because they insist I need multiple Fusions and other operations.. which is NOT going to happen.. AND the fact I am living a damned good life at my age, with my damage means.. "The Doctors are fckn WRONG"Get your life together mate.. strengthening your MUSCLE groups will ease the problem, AND the benefits means you will look all fckn hansom and wonderful.. like me.. when you get to MY age :)Good luck mate.. I know a bad back fckn sucks, but remember, you COULD have "Steven HAwkin's" back..

Mrs Acc33 suffers from a collapsed disc which rubs on the sciatic nerve... There is no amount of prep or "treating the cause" that can help that issue and the subsequent pain that follows. OP..... SEE YOUR GP OR SPECIALIST.

As one who had a spinal fusion last year (and it has been the best thing ever and it also kept me out of a wheelchair) I would recommend losing weight and things like pilates to strengthen the muscles. As for position lying on your side would be a good one to try, Good luck. Pusscat xxx

I have a compression wedge fracture of my L5 vertebra caused by many years of manual work.Yes I do need to loose some weight and do more stretching exercises.I am best staying away from strong pain medication as I do like it too much, much too much! My GP has recommended exercise and weight loss.

Ok so its L5, well you need to be more flexible with your hips. Get some upper body strength going to take the pressure of your lower back. There's loads you can do, and its all gym work, working on legs will also help to stabilize your lower back.

To lose weight and strengthen the core is something you can achieve over time, you have to change some habits too and the pain in the meantime don't go away until it's done, so some motivation perhaps not your empathetic self, perhaps a professional at that gym just down the road and commit yourself to an agreement with making a new friend and something to look forward to, new and all and good feelings within yourself and esteem a natural pain killer you make in you. But the muscles in your body have little control stations that receive commands and put into action the muscles task and there's a shit load of that going on just to sit still, toxins build up around those controllers and effect the signals they get confused, like a fouled spark plug running an engine, your muscles are not doing what they are meant to and there is a shit load of that going on in you even to sit still. I'de suggest you look into Bowen and his philosophy of the flow with fluids and energy that runs through our self and the Bowen therapy he mastered and has passed on to others because of it all and it works, painless, no bone manipulation, just a few minutes quite relaxing at a time as toxins are released and expelled (through your feet mostly) and it happens there and then, one week later, and in one month a final visit just to ensure the habits of those muscles controllers have not become to bad habits and retrained. Unless you have shaggers back then wear it well :) Mado Mado Tara xx

I have the same issue as you and more and believe me being fit and having super strong BACK Muscles as well as abs is essential. My dr said he's surprised I'm still walking. Put as much effort into maintaining your body as you would your: house, garden, car, relationships, or whatever it is you DO put the effort into. Only get one body and for all of us its wearing out. 😳☺️ Best of luck - Posted from rhpmobile
