Did you really expect a better answer? One instance I can explain is that I just reported myself and others on another thread cos I thought we'd dominated the thread but left it to RHP's discretion and obviously they agreed with me cos half the thread disappeared lololol lolol... Peachy

Freedom  speech is good...Cant be bothered reporting, it just seems to be so controlling. If you havent got something nice to say, simply dont say it.Think before you post i say.I say let people say what they want, after all it is a forum. We are all grown up on here and have our own opinions, if others dont like it ..so be it..That is what we are about...CHOICES..if you dont like it dont read it or respond to it..simple..For someone to report themselves seems to make people think they regreted what they said and wanted it removed. But i know that wasnt the case.Just my opinion. as BJ would say...hehe

Thankyou for the reply Couplesint it is so true...   Sometimes i like reading the bitching and moaning and occasionally adding my own.. You are right we are all adults and should be able to banter debat or even add a little critasism(typo) to posts.. If people didn't like replies to post why would you bother posing in a forum for all to read...   I didn't report myself i went to post something in forum and it didn't make it.. But i did receive an explanation to the topic of RedHotPie and was simply wanting to show the outcome to others onto why certain things get deleted.. I did not report myself I have no need to.... I might be a bitch and nasty at times but least i am honest and straight forward ..This is me is who i am i don't see why i need to sugar coat things..   TIT My bitch

Trixie... it was better... I got to remove mine as well!and CI... I didn't and don't regret what I said and didn't try to give that impression in my post on this thread at all, that is something you've read into it. As I said, 'I thought we'd dominated the thread', something you and Bryan and John pointed out to me and I did what I could to remedy that by reporting myself and leaving it up to RHP's discretion. I am sorry if you don't agree with my methods but I'm not asking you or anyone else to. I appreciated your nice mail re another thread I posted on earlier today, thank you for caring enough to send it.Cheers Mrs P :-) :-*

RHP actually filter a LOT.  Many of my posts never make it... some take forever before they appear.. and others don't appear at all.  I don't have a problem in principle with moderation of a forum, but excessive moderation leads to people giving up posting if they don't know WHY they are being moderated.   Wayne x

Its certainly  a post to read, and then sit and ponder isnt it, very thought provoking

The forum is not part of any democrasy. I don't know why people think it would be. We have one right.. the right to object by modifying our subscription. Any sensible private sector organisation would delete anything you say that i spercieved to harm the subscription base. I fail to see how it's such a revelation to any of you, that if you bad mouth RHP or other subscribers, your post will ultimately be removed. Freedom of speech is not a civil right in this country. The American Bill of Rights has no application here. You are free to talk about politics in this country but that is the extent of any legal rights on the subject.   Gaz

I see a couple of people in here who my best friend loves to hate who commented on this post.  Just funny i find it..  afterall it was due to someones bitching and moaning that a recent forum post got deleted completely after they found it was neccessary to attack her opinion.   So yes I am confused to what these do gooders are on about sometimes in here

Where are all those people who want the right to delete their own posts now lol? Whatever, I'm entitled to the right to change my mind on that topic AND be honest and open about it whether other people agree with me or not. More 4 Trixie... what I'd really like to see rather than a block button lol, tho I can appreciate your point of view much more than I did in the past, is a button that prevents us from posting, for say 24 hrs and maybe higher increments depending how cranky I am haha.niceguy0068... the operation of moderation on RHP is a fascinating conglomeration. There are members like ourselves who have immediate access to the forums, all the better to have the opportunity to blurt things out without the mindset that the post has yet to be moderated before it will be posted. Recently, I requested moderation from RHP after the operation of my own lack of consideration and they agreed with me and deleted my posts. I thought I was doing the right thing and was open and honest about it but people will insist on judging others from their own limited point of view. Anyway, my point is that members like yourself who are moderated for reasons beyond my understanding might want to be grateful that you do have the moderation process rather than being able to run your mouth off without consideration for others as many do while presuming they are superior.Ummmmmm and where did CI's last post on this thread get to? I had nothing to do with it!!!Hugs... Mrs P :-D

I agree with your point that excessive moderation leads to people giving up posting if they don't know WHY they are being moderated. Can't improve our behaviour if we don't know what it we're doing wrong...Cheers... Mrs P

I've run forums now for over 30 years (yes -I'm that IT geek that did not have a life) so I have a fair bit of experience with both the community side of it as a community member which we all are, and also from the moderators side of it as being responsible for keeping the peace in the community.  I also have a pretty good understand of the technology behind all of this. In the back end of RHP they either have someone monitoring the forums 24x7 to manually approve the posts, or they have some software that does it for them.  Said software will likely look for keywords that they do not wish to appear in the forums and if they appear then the post is likely flagged for a person to check further.   Mrs P - your comments about educating members as to why their posts have been moderated is spot on.  We can't learn if we do not know why our posts as being moderated. Likewise if people require constant moderation because their posts are over the edge then they need to be removed from the community for the benefit of others.  In the forums I run, I use the three strikes policy with feedback to the member for the things they've done wrong on each occasion.  Sure we are all prone to have a bad day - that is human.  FYI - the posts that I had moderated were not attacking ANYONE.  They were advising about my own experiences here on RHP over the last few weeks and things that I've seen... I was seeking guidance from some of the "tribal elders" as to how to deal with things... I've given up though as RHP don't want my thoughts public.   Gaz - you are right, this is not the US of A - thank god for that.  If it were then we'd all be subject to the draconian monitoring and filtering that takes place there without the majority of the community being aware of it.  However as a responsible member of the community and given that we are PAYING members of it, I believe that RHP have a duty to do better than they are right now.   Thanks for reading. I'm learning a lot from everyone :-)   Wayne x

I think it's fairly clear through bits and pieces you read in the forums, the T&C for the site and the FAQ area as to what you can't and can post here. If you've got an issue with a particular post not getting through then write to Help and ask why instead of moaning about it. What? Can't be bothered? Then don't complain!I have moderated forums before too Wayne, and tho I don't know what genre forum you moderated (I'm suspecting tech related) but some of the sh^t people post in forums for sites that revolve around human interactions is revolting. No bot can screen some of the malicious, nasty, evil things that some minds out there can conjure up but guess what? A human has to do that so that no one else has to read it and endure the nightmares. That's moderation. It's sometimes about protecting other people from reading things that really shouldn't make the light of day. If I sniffed a nutter or a topic that could possibly get out of hand, I never thought twice about axing it. Given that, so what if moderation is 'extreme' here? It's a sex site so I'm sure there are more considerations required for moderation than other genres.I seriously doubt that anyone is writing anything highly offensive on here but sheesh, if you've got a problem with the moderation, go and talk to the powers that be. Keep the actual forums for interesting (and pleasant) topics.Mrs (She who still wishes she'd never read some of the things she's read in her lifetime...)
