theres nothing to gain by trying to be something your not although i didnt learn that hear, i learned that many years ago after trying to fit in to certain circles cant please everyone, but the people do you please will be very well worth it :)

A couple of things I learned VERY quickly when I joined this site....1) how easily the written word, without the support of pitch, tone and non verbal queues can be misinterpreted or taken out of context. 2) how easily some people can be unintentionally offended.. I was absolutely dumbfounded to discover a lovely lady who's username was something like "Satans cum bucket" or "Take me roughly" might be offended if I called her "sweetie" or "babe" in a message. I don't judge - everyone deserves to be treated to the higher of a) how they want to be treated, or b) how you expect to be treated yourself , and now I know better! 3) how willing people are to offer support and advice to help a total stranger get laid (Cheers for that LD!) Remember - what goes around, comes around and Karma can be a mean bitch!Rocky

It is most defiantly not you and there are some that grace us with there presence here in the forums, also outside forums (because I think I have received messages from 50% of them lol), they come in both male and female forms and they're also out in the real world. But that is life, it still goes on, yes sometimes they make it interesting, sometimes they just annoy the shit out of me, as I'm sure I annoy the shit out of some people too......💋

I got into the habit of copying each incoming message into the notebook that's on each profile. You can view who you have notes on through your lists page. It's handy to keep up with name changes in the forums too lol. Peachy . To tell if your sent messages have been read, go to your sent folder on your messages page, uread is highlighted blue. But... do bear in mind, a read message won't show as read if it was read through the, 'contact history' on your profile.

I like both of your posts. A friend of mine is just back after a RHP break. He said he had to get away from here for a while to get some normality back in his life. I can see what he meant. There are a lot of great people on here, and they keep you coming back, but it becomes part of your life, the RHP community, theres a compulsion to visit every day that I never had when I was on a "normal" dating site for a wee while (the one my mates are all on). Ive learned something new about myself on here, and made new friends, but theres another aspect that I didnt count on, the fact that this site has become part of my life? I will have been on here for a year in September, and I will consider having a break to concentrate on other things and clear my mind. But will I? Its been a great time for me on here, but I didnt realise how much I would be sucked in to the whole RHP experience. It has been fantastic but also surreal. Im glad I joined as I wouldnt have met any of the lovely guys and girls that I know now. Hotel "RedHotPie" sure enough......

Personal expression is a something not taught, almost minimised unless you work/dabble in an artistic field, which is to the detriment of society. Redhotpie has given me insight into how people can be open, open minded, open feelings and open doors (had to put that 1 in).

You are from my era, yes "Babe", "Darl" "Hun" are definately PIC these days. I grew up going to work with my Dad, he worked that hard, that was the only way we got to see him. The names you speak of where the norm, the same as "whistling" a pretty lady, I worked with a guy that used to yell our "wick weel", cause he couldn't whistle. Germaine Greer has a lot to answer for, I've read in ladie's profiles were they miss the thrill "of the chase", that's were it went. Guys are now often to scared to "compliment" a lady in fear of the "down the nose look" or perhaps even being reported to the police. I was out with my Ex & son once, we'd spent the day fishin' on the Murray, we pulled up at Barmah to get supplies, she had a bikini on & a short summer dress that I'd bought her, 2 bikers pulled up as she walked out & checked her out, she hopped in the car blushing & said "those guys were pervin' on me", I said "lucky they were, or I may have driven off & left you behind". I think it's sad to have to set your expectations low so not to be disappointed. I want a lot from life, including what can be found here at rhp 😉 Maybe I would say, I try not to be so judgmental and give everyone an opportunity to show you their worth, we all have some kind of gift, with some it may be beauty, some intellect, a kind heart, arty etc. everyone can shine when given the chance. You may meet up with a guy and he is not the Adonis you were expecting, but he may be the most gifted and attentive lover. I agree wholeheartedly on being careful how you word what you write, without the inflection and tone of voice on what's being said, it is easily taken the wrong way. Theres a saying my daughter had tattooed on her shoulder I Love and I think it's what I've learnt " life is what you make it, happiness is a choice"

Learn't since being in RHP? There is some fruit loops. Unless you have actually met people and learned off others, through the grapevine the real validation process, then any one else is merely a figment of the imagination. Some even go to lengths of setting up multiple profiles, just so they can pat each other on the back and appear the real deal. They seem to come into the forums all around the same time, throwing little gestures in, like look at me, look at me, then after a while the cracks appear and the personalities show out as some silly fucker trying to fool the world. Been a while since that has happened.
