Maybe try some Graeme Greene travels with my aunt or Tim Winton cloudstreet, if you're a surfer most Tim Winton will resonate. Louis DeBerniers (not sure about spelling) wrote a great story called Captain Corelli's Mandolin which is fabulous and I know has appealed to a lot of non-readers. Depends on what you're into though... Visit your library or bookshop, lots of helpful reading type peeps there will help you.

Love both the Rama and The Foundation series. Sci-fi short stories can be a bit random, but I have a particular fondness for the robot short stories by Asimov. A bit of mystery, unexpected humanity mixed with questioning morality sucks me right in.

If you have been spending the years surfing, drinking? Know a few mates who indulge in a few shady deals?? If you want a book that appeals to the type of bloke who thinks he can handle himself when confronted, and enjoys Aussie humor, good food and women!!! Loo up the les norton series written by Robert g barret. - Posted from rhpmobile

I would expect you to bring it along :-) I find the book I suggested is one I cannot put down even now though I've read it many times. If you were reading it and due to meet me I would expect to see you totally engrossed in it as I walk up to you.- Posted from rhpmobile

Me and the Mr P met a couple (from RHP) in a book shop... The lady was wearing an overcoat... we did a wife swap for the drive home... and a cup of coffee has never been the same since. That experience hails back to before my first ever post in the forums!
