First of all, hello rhp members, new to rhp and its forum. Didn't know such a forum existed in Oz, have hidden under that rock for too long. So I'm in my late 20s, asian and originally from inner-west syd and moved up to rural Qld over 8 years ago. Finding it hard to find both asian and non-asian companions/partners for 3 reasons - 1) Being rural, 99% of asian woman are here on holiday visas. They are only interested in white aussies, most likely to get a visa and the feelings mutual. (Non-asian woman probably have the same opinion about me). 2) Upper management at current job with 40+ female staff and workers feel intimidated and will not talk to me unless they want a day off =P (also theres the language barrier). 3) Rural non-asian girls are just not into asian guys. Any advice? Feel like dating apps are my only option but asian males have no chance from past experience. Only other alternative would be to drive to Brissy during my days off and find someone there. Btw its 100km away and only have 10 hours of free time on my days off. Having fun during interstate visits are fine and all but I think its time to settle and find a missus. Kind Regards, JKay - Posted from rhpmobile

Hi JKay. Firstly, its always a self defeating principle to make decisions on behalf of other peoples likes and dislikes..... because you arrogantly remove their option to have any input in the matter. One line which you wrote caught my notice ahead of all others I think its time to settle and find a missus. In the Reality Stakes, a marathon race with many starters.... RHP is highly unlikely to be the winner for you. Internet dating sites can open up worlds beyond which you circle in, and one of the advantage is that you can search wider than your current location, and others can do exactly the same. Like in here, 80% of the process is in the profile. You cant ever appeal to everyone (refer back to my first comment, in reverse)... but by drafting something original, interesting, and not taking ourself too seriously, you will stand out. The other 20% is up to how you communicate via messages and then interact face to face. IF your desire is for a partner.... being distracted by the candy on offer in here is possibly not the best thing for that mindset. Good luck, and I hope you find her. DG

...the Forums in this place. Well that's a good place to start. Put yourself out there, interact, comment and question. It's a bit of proactive advertising. You may even find that the racial barrier is not the barrier that you think it is. Join clubs locally, interact and be social. Look past these statistics you put in front of yourself.

Just also clarify where the hell you really are.Your profile says Canberra, but in this topic you state rural Qld. Can't be in both at the same time. That inconsistency itself may be enough to put some people off. But as mentioned, this site may not necessarily be the best option for long term relationship. Not saying it's impossible, but probably not the best starting point. Most people are here for a good time, not necessarily a long time, so to speak. But get involved in the forums, let people see what you're like, and you never know what may follow. Tall

Quoting 'Summersolstice' You didn't even give us women the chance to scare the poor bloke off. Most guys in here do a damn fine enough job of scaring you off first

It's not a bad topic regarding coming from the bush. Some comments in the past it seems some blokes just think doing a profile is all it takes and women will fall in their laps. Chill out and relax and enjoy what the site offers is a good start Now if the site could serve up some courage for me yeehah nirvana Cheers - Posted from rhpmobile

...given the circumstances you describe I suggest you hit the big smoke for a few days every now and then and rent...I know that sounds harsh, but nothing's gunna happen locally and this is probably the most realistic (unfiltered) bit of advice you'll get. You wont be in the boonies forever.
