Safety in a dangerous world

September 29 2014

Please don't let this thread become political, aggressive or hateful. It's not my intention to debate religion, politics, war or otherwise. I simply want to say, to anyone who has loved ones living or working in dangerous parts of the world right now, my heart is with you. Someone close to me is currently very near some awfully dangerous territory and I'm unable to contact them. I always avoid catastrophising but I'll admit my nerves are a little on edge. I'll be relieved to hear from them. So if you're in the same situation, I hope your loved one stays safe x - Posted from rhpmobile

I feel for you. When the "Black Saturday" bushfire's happened in Vic, I had a mate that lived in Flowerdale on a small farm. The fires were burning away from him, but around 4pm Saturday arvo the wind swung 180 degrees, the fire turned and burnt out 90% of Flowerdale, all phone links had disappeared and the footage on Tv was devastating. 48hrs later we got news that he, his farm & stock had survived. He was in Yea, workin' the CFA radio's & had his "fireplan" in operation. Our soldiers, police, ambo's, SES & firefighters are some of the most well trained & bravest people on earth, but nothing prepares you for a "Holacaust". They give their lives to protect us and our freedom. A lady I meet once, lost her marriage because she was helping out an Aussie soldier that returned from O/S that had PTSS, from the the "brutality" of women & children in war that he'd witnessed. We need to support every person that is in our Defence Forces, & support forces, even if they don't serve O/S, they may have lost a great mate to "WAR". It is no different to a person dying in a factory or on a building site, or a Police Officer dying on the street here. The devastation is the same. Cheer P.L.

And your loved ones who are away. We have lived in countries ravaged by poverty, war and civil unrest so have experienced both sides. It's becoming a scary place this world of ours...... Nowhere is safe anymore. I hope you hear some positive news from your friends soon. - Posted from rhpmobile
