on the up side: a flirt is pretty much the only chance a non-subscriber has to indicate interest in someone (other than stalking their profile and showing up n "recently viewed" a thousand times. And getting one as a non-subscirber does allow you to reply with a message - at least allowing for contact between those who don't have hundreds to pay each year. on the down side: as a couple or as a single female, they become extraneous noise. one receives so many that the impact of a flirt is next to nothing. and if you're being inundated with innane messages ("hey babe" , "How are you", "lets fuck" - all of which , by the way are the complete and real messages we've received in the past week) a flirt seems like a distraction rather than, well, a flirt. It's perceived as not even trying. The economy of attention here is odd, and the perception of the feature of the flirt is probably suffering because of it.

We get about a dozen flirts each week. If the flirt is from a profile that shows very little effort then that flirt has zero value and the sender is likely to be blocked. If the flirt is from a verified profile where they've made effort to fill in the profile and load up some interesting pics then we will respond almost every time.

We love to send flirts, We see it as a perfect way to show appreciation of someone else’s profile. In fact sending a message to someone without first receiving a flirt back makes us feel a little uncomfortable. Imagine being in a bar for instance and you see someone sexy, you would smile first and if they smile back you go over. Rather than just going over and starting a chat up that might not be welcomed.

We had a paid membership but it has expired. We only send flirts to paid members if we spot someone we like the look of. Will never flirt with a guest as there’s no point. And will either ignore or quickly dismiss a flirt from a guest profile.

In theory, theory is the same in practice, in practice it isn't. Same with flirts, they seem like a sound idea but they rarely produce the desired result.

As a new member of red hot pie I like the idea of sending flirts. It's a quick and easy way to let someone know you're interested. But I can imagine it would be annoying if you get lots of them.
