  Good Question.... I hit the beach alot as I am free during the days.... an I have noticed this also but I think its a trend of men's swimmers getting tighter and smaller each year or the guys are just getting braver, each time im at the beach, to me I think it looks way to Metro, though some guys can pull it off others cant.. I guess it depends on what your comfortable to wear in public... For me my go to beach kit is either Rugby League shorts or Nike Running shorts

  Quoting 'frogstew' eeeewwwww I agree, my husband would wear them till I threw em out, he said hey I fit right in on the beach at Mykonos...I said listen sunshine, town beach Mandurah is not Mykonos so get rid of those things. Europe they love em, but I find them revolting no matter what part of the world your in.

  the infamous d.t,or budgie smuggler..Budgies are an endangered species, somewhat like the Norwegian Blue,so perhaps the re-emergence of the Speedo is a plot by eco terrorists...to remind us :-) xxQ

  For the hell of me ' I don't know what the big deal is about wearing speedo's ? If I feel like wearing them ' I do.. If I feel like wearing boardies , I will ... I don't go along with the crowd because that's the fashionable way to think... I wear them for the comfort angle and the freedom they give in the surf. I've never had any complaints and I can't see why anyone would ?
